Boker Tov. I had a BIG plan yesterday. I brought my expired Tehudat Zehout, and they rejected it at the voting booth in Jaffa. (where I used to live) I went to renew it at Misrad Hapnim... and they asked why I wanted to be here. I went to vote, and these ladies were so proud I returned, but in between, my phone got stolen at a cafe off the charger, and no one could help the international nightmare of a stolen phone... (I'm on my computer like it's 2006! Ahhh!) People ask...why do you come to vote...Rami? In America, my voting rights were stripped because I was an ex-convict in 2002-2004, which follows you till you are off parole/ probation. (I was on both) I was so unaware I still didn't vote, and many ex-cons are intimidated through voting info, so they opt to never register. Now most of us vote based on our values...but that makes us feel isolated in the US. Then when you come to Israel to vote, you aren't Israeli enough to vote. (at least the comment section) So here we go. Here is my vote. Where I think mine counts. Many of us (60.000+ in the diaspora) paid thousands of dollars to come thousands of miles and be a microscopic part of change, to say, "Hey, I count too! " There was no other place in the world where parties are promoting right and left, all are being accused of being traitors, some are flying in, and others are riding on camels, opponents form coalitions, and the voting entrance is giving me "joint list" peteks asking me to vote for them all in the same circle and area. (i didn't lol and I told them) But it's meaningful to be here, and all I have is this dusty pic. See you Friday at the show! (See you Sunday at the @nycmarathon. ) I have a cheering section if ya wanna come
