In one week, we will mark 88 years since Kristallnacht, known as the “Night of Broken Glass.” On November 9–10, 1938, Jewish communities across Germany and Austria were targeted in a wave of coordinated violence. Synagogues were burned, Jewish homes and businesses were destroyed, and thousands of Jews were arrested and sent to concentration camps. Join us and ASHER in honoring their memory and pledge to #ShineTheLight with the link below: https://asherusa.org/shinethelight/

"There's never going to be a perfect time. And you sometimes just have to take the step and just do it. Do your part and hopefully everything works out." We are still so excited about the nearly 300 people that came out to Long Island, NY earlier this month to continue or jumpstart their Aliyah process. Missed us here? Catch us on NBN On Tour in November and December across different cities in the US and Canada. Last night, at The Jewish Agency’s Board of Governors Meeting, we honored Mark Wilf as he concludes his tenure as Chair, with President Isaac Herzog joining us for the special occasion. Throughout his chairmanship, Mark has strengthened connections across the Jewish world and stood alongside communities and families in times of crisis. While his tenure as Chair comes to a close, he will continue his impact as Chair of The Jewish Agency’s Centennial Campaign. We thank Mark for his dedicated leadership and welcome David Heller as the next Chair.

Captain Dr. Ori Yosef Silvester z״l, a physician serving in the Givati Brigade’s Shaked Battalion, fell this June in southern Lebanon. Yesterday, his family visited The Jewish Agency’s New York office to share his story, honor his memory, and reflect on the lasting impact he had on all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Before returning to his service, Ori joined a Jewish Agency Shlichim in Uniform mission to the Jewish community in Howard County, Maryland. There, he formed meaningful connections and spoke about how deeply moved he was by the love and support he felt from Jews thousands of miles away. “Now my mission in the army is even more meaningful,” he shared. Ori’s legacy lives on through the connections he made, the lives he touched, and the communities that continue to carry his memory forward. We will always remember Ori. We will always honor his life and legacy. And we will continue strengthening the bonds between Israel and Jewish communities around the world that meant so much to him.

Three years have passed since October 7th. This week, in Israel and in Jewish communities around the world, we remember the lives taken and stand with the families and communities who were forever changed. This year, for the first time, every hostage, living and deceased, is home. The grief remains, and so does our commitment to remember, support, and rebuild. The Kalanit (red anemone) sticker, designed by Lia Naiditch for The Jewish Agency for Israel, unites us in shared memory and hope. We will never forget.
