Transcript [00:00] The story of the khedi draft that were [00:02] being sold is way off. When khadim don't [00:04] draft, everyone asks why won't they [00:07] integrate? But when they finally enlist, [00:09] suddenly the narrative shifts. Let's [00:11] look at two examples. Have you ever [00:13] heard of theim program? Recently, [00:16] hundreds of karedi women have entered [00:18] technological positions within Israel's [00:20] homeront command. Karedi women, [00:22] graduates of karedi seminaries, now in [00:25] the workforce while maintaining their [00:27] way of life. A feminist success story. [00:30] Isn't this exactly what everyone asked [00:32] for? Karedi integration into the [00:34] workforce and security. Women in [00:36] high-tech. If you had only read the [00:37] facts, you might expect the headline to [00:39] be groundbreaking. Karedi women [00:41] integrated into Israel's defense [00:43] establishment. But when progress like [00:45] this was reported through the media, [00:46] what was the headline? Gore's scheme. [00:50] That's ridiculous, misleading [00:51] propaganda. [00:53] Calling this monumental step forward a [00:55] combina or scheme misleads the audience [00:58] to assume some type of ill intentions or [01:01] even worse conspiracy to seize more [01:04] public funds for khedi gain. That is [01:07] fake news. Now let's go further. Why [01:11] does the media insist on making look [01:13] bad? For example, since October 7th, [01:17] Israel has relied on its reser on an [01:19] unprecedented scale and the cost has [01:21] been enormous. not just to the military [01:24] but to families, businesses, and of [01:26] course to the country itself. According [01:28] to a recent finance ministry estimate, [01:30] one month of reserve duty cost the [01:32] Israeli taxpayer on average 50,000 sheer [01:36] a month per reserveist. So many of us [01:39] are asking a question for certain [01:40] internal security missions that don't [01:42] require expensive frontline infantry [01:45] reserveists. Why not train Karedi [01:47] mandatory service soldiers to perform [01:49] these missions at a fraction of the [01:51] cost? This is the idea behind the Araim [01:55] warrior scholars initiative. Kedi Torah [01:58] scholars enlist in the IDF, undergo [02:00] military training and perform real [02:03] defensive missions, guard duty, patrols, [02:05] operational assignments, rapid response [02:08] teams. And the standby area, the bet [02:11] midrash, soldiers are concentrated in [02:13] one area, focused and ready to respond [02:16] at a moment's notice. Understand the [02:18] benefits of this program. Reserveists [02:20] can go home. The IDF gains desperately [02:22] needed manpower. A khedi Torah scholar [02:24] can serve his country in a way that [02:26] doesn't compromise his values. And since [02:29] mandatory service soldiers cost a [02:31] fraction compared to reservists, the [02:33] economy saves massive amounts of money. [02:35] Isn't this exactly what everyone asked [02:37] for? And yet, how does the media portray [02:39] this? The ker scheme on an army base. [02:42] Are you kidding me? They allude to [02:44] inflated salaries, benefits, special [02:46] treatment as though the very fact that [02:48] the IDF created a framework adapted to [02:50] Khedi life was itself something [02:52] suspicious. So perhaps it's time to ask [02:55] a different question. If a Kedi man [02:57] doesn't enlist, that's a problem. But if [03:00] he enlists through a framework [03:01] compatible with his way of life, now [03:03] it's a scheme, a combina to unjustly [03:05] benefit him. If a Kedi woman stays home, [03:08] she's not with the times. She's [03:09] oppressed. She's primitive. But if she [03:12] contributes to Israel's defense [03:13] establishment while maintaining her [03:15] religious lifestyle, suddenly we're [03:17] scrutinizing her and assuming a hidden [03:19] agenda. But here's the part that no one [03:22] is talking about. One of the hidden [03:23] strengths of the IDF is it being able to [03:26] accommodate many sectors of Israeli [03:28] society. From bedwins to Dus, from the [03:31] African Hebrew Israelites of Deona to [03:33] the Circations of the North. Israel [03:36] being one of the most religiously and [03:37] ethnically diverse places on earth has [03:39] created a reality where the IDF attempts [03:41] to accommodate its framework to allow [03:43] for as many people in Israel to serve in [03:45] the army. Whether that be Drews, Bedwin, [03:48] Christian, Muslim or yes, Karedi Jews. [03:52] Accommodating the Karedi community or [03:54] any other community in Israel doesn't [03:56] mean we have to cosign every aspect or [03:58] behavior of every community being [04:00] accommodated. It means we respect the [04:03] communities and we want their [04:05] participation. Do you see the double [04:07] standard? So, let's all start presenting [04:10] the situation honestly. Stop the [04:12] manipulation and recognize the real [04:14] progress being made every day for the [04:17] sake of Schlumbumber.
