Transcript [00:03] [music] [00:11] [music] [00:30] >> I visited concentration camps. I visited [00:33] Auschwitz, Majdanek. I visited sites of [00:36] mass Jewish killing. But I didn't visit [00:38] them in 1945. [00:40] This is a scene just like those Nazi [00:42] atrocities that happened just now in our [00:46] time. In 2023, in this site, they [00:49] butchered Jewish families. They [00:51] butchered, beheaded, shot, [music] threw [00:54] grenades at families. And then they set [00:57] their bodies on fire. They did it [00:59] deliberately [music] so they wouldn't be [01:00] able to be recognized afterwards, or be [01:02] given a proper burial, or even known if [01:04] some of those people, and many people [01:06] from this community, [music] [01:07] were taken kidnapped to Gaza. Hamas [01:10] decimated Kibbutz Be'eri. [music] [01:13] They took a tenth of the people [01:15] and murdered them, slaughtering them in [01:17] a day. [01:21] >> [music] [01:27] [music] [01:28] >> They stormed into this house and [01:30] slaughtered a family. [01:32] What you're seeing on the floor here is [01:34] dry as luck, but it's also burned blood. [01:36] Because then they set them all on fire. [01:42] >> [music] [02:21] >> Almost immediately after the Hamas [02:23] massacre of October 7th, we saw [02:26] justifications [02:27] online. We saw minimizations. We even [02:30] saw denials. But, the evidence here [02:32] tells a different story, a story of [02:34] horror. Evidence of life, shoes so [02:36] reminiscent of those left over from [02:38] survivors of the Holocaust, pictures [02:39] [music] [02:40] from kids, people's belongings [02:42] everywhere that have destroyed when [02:45] Hamas entered this family home and [02:47] wreaked havoc [music] [02:48] on so many people. [02:58] Chaim Golan Bachar is with me here in [03:00] Kibbutz Be'eri. [03:01] Uh Chaim, you arrived here on the day. [03:03] Tell us what you saw. [03:05] >> What I saw here is devastation. At the [03:07] beginning, we saw only the devastation. [03:09] We saw houses burning [03:11] uh with people inside. There were still [03:13] terrorists here. There was still a fight [03:16] between our soldiers and the uh and the [03:18] squads of the terrorists that uh were [03:21] hiding between the bushes and inside the [03:24] houses. They didn't fire most of the [03:26] houses that they couldn't penetrate to [03:28] the safe room. So, what we saw is a [03:31] burnt kibbutz with many terrorists, with [03:33] a lot of soldiers that are fighting [03:35] them. And we had a mission, beside of [03:38] course fighting the terrorists, to uh [03:41] rescue [03:42] the [03:43] mainly the dead uh casualty, the dead [03:45] people of us. [03:47] >> Tell us about some of the scenes you saw [03:49] because we've heard about some of this [03:50] unbearable cruelty. [03:52] >> So, as you know, uh I've been in many [03:54] places, many events, many disasters in [03:57] the past. I've been in Haiti 2010, [04:01] [music] [04:02] the Philippines 2013, Mexico, Honduras, [04:06] Albania. I've been in South Lebanon [04:09] search and rescue. I've been in Surfside [04:11] 2 and 1/2 years ago, but what we saw [04:14] here is not only the amount of bodies. [04:16] [music] [04:17] So many people just in Be'eri 10% of the [04:20] residents were massacred. [04:23] And Kibbutz Be'eri [04:24] consists of [04:26] more than 1,000 residents and 100 [04:30] were murdered here. [04:31] >> Definitely. [04:32] >> Yeah. [04:33] And so first of all it's the amount. [04:36] It's the amount number of the [04:37] casualties. The The second is the [04:40] conditions or the situations. [04:42] That the way they killed them, [04:45] it was not only a bullet [music] in the [04:47] head, it was much worse. [04:50] I will not go into details [04:52] with your permission, but I will just [04:54] say that the pogroms in Hebron in 1929, [05:00] some of the [05:02] Nazi methodologies or the way they [05:05] killed people, the way they they caused [05:07] them suffer [05:09] were exactly here. Each one of the [05:11] houses just to remind you [05:13] just to mention that this house in [05:15] Be'eri [05:17] at the beginning I found only five only [05:19] five people [05:21] murdered outside. Inside the house they [05:24] were [05:25] 14 people, among them eight children [05:30] handcuffed and burned in this corner of [05:34] this living room. [05:35] >> What is the situation now for a [05:37] community like this? [05:40] >> For the community it will take time [05:43] because first they need us, the IDF, the [05:47] state of Israel, to set things [05:52] right. [05:53] Everybody awaiting [05:55] for us, for the IDF, [05:58] to [06:00] ensure [06:02] that there will be no threat [06:04] to any Jew [06:06] in any place right now in the south in [06:09] the next 100 years. They need to be sure [06:16] that [06:18] any kind of danger is eliminated. [06:22] No chance that they will return without [06:25] this confidence. [06:27] >> And what's your message to the world? [06:28] You know, it's Stand With Us people are [06:30] following, supporting Israel all around [06:32] the world. We've seen devastation here. [06:34] We've seen some gruesome things. What's [06:36] your message to the world? [06:38] >> Our message to the world is there is a [06:40] division between the [06:43] of light and the sons of darkness. [06:47] This is it. [06:49] I expect those who see themselves [06:53] as the sons of light [06:55] to join Israel, to support the IDF, to [06:59] support all kind of organization who [07:01] supports Israel such as Stand With Us. [07:04] And be with us [07:07] because it will be It's going to take [07:08] time. Difficult problems [07:11] needs time to solve to be solved. [07:15] Stay with us [07:17] all through along the way. [07:19] >> I can promise you we will never let [07:21] these stories not be told. We will shine [07:23] a light on what's happening. And we [07:25] thank you for what you and your men and [07:26] women are doing in defense of Israel. [07:28] Thank you. [07:35] When they broke into people's homes, [07:37] this is the uniform that Hamas [07:39] terrorists were wearing. [07:42] They acts of such atrocity. [07:46] All that's left [07:47] of Nazis today is their leftover [07:49] uniforms. All that should be left of [07:51] Hamas is this.
We went down south, to the community of Be'eri, just weeks after the atrocities of October 7, 2023, committed by Hamas terrorists. 2 years later, we remember:
