Transcript [00:00] Hey everyone, I'm going to play you two [00:01] clips in this video. [00:03] Both of them are President Trump, both [00:05] very short clips. [00:06] And in both of them he's talking about [00:08] Iran. And when you hear them [00:09] back-to-back, I think you're going to [00:10] feel [00:12] I don't know. I think you're going to [00:13] feel the way I felt when I'm putting [00:14] this together. [00:16] Uh the first clip is from February 28th. [00:19] The night the war started, Trump gave an [00:21] 8-minute speech announcing the military [00:24] action and laying out the objectives. [00:26] And this is how he ended that speech. [00:33] >> Finally, to the great proud people of [00:35] Iran, I say tonight that the hour of [00:38] your freedom is at hand. [00:40] Stay sheltered. Don't leave your home. [00:42] It's very dangerous outside. Bombs will [00:45] be dropping everywhere. When we are [00:47] finished, take over your government. It [00:49] will be yours to take. This will be [00:52] probably your only chance for [00:55] generations. [00:57] For many years you have asked for [00:58] America's help, but you never got it. No [01:02] president was willing to do what I am [01:04] willing to do tonight. Now you have a [01:06] president who is giving you what you [01:08] want. So let's see how you respond. [01:12] America is backing you with overwhelming [01:15] strength and devastating force. Now is [01:17] the time to seize control of your [01:19] destiny and to unleash the prosperous [01:22] and glorious future that is close within [01:25] your reach. This is the moment for [01:28] action. Do not let it pass. May God [01:31] bless the brave men and women of [01:33] America's armed forces. May God bless [01:36] the United States of America. May God [01:39] bless you all. [01:42] >> There you go. [01:44] That's President Trump on February 28th. [01:48] The hour of your freedom is at hand. It [01:51] will be yours to take. Now, here's the [01:53] second clip. This is a clip from uh [01:56] of Trump at the G7 summit. And it's from [01:59] yesterday. A reporter asked him [02:02] if he will continue with the deal if the [02:04] Iranian regime continues to murder its [02:07] own people. Take a look. [02:09] >> Um if the Iranian regime continues to [02:11] kill their own people, will you still [02:13] move ahead with this deal? [02:14] >> If they You said what with their people? [02:16] >> If they continue to kill their own [02:17] people, the Iranian [02:19] >> Well, we're talking We talked to them [02:20] about it and we see. I will say the [02:24] majority of that took place during the [02:26] first and second regimes. [02:28] Much more so than that. [02:31] It was It was It was much It was much [02:33] more severe. [snorts] [02:35] But it's a terrible thing. Yeah, do you [02:36] have [02:39] >> There you go. [02:42] The first and second regimes. [02:45] He's implying that uh [02:46] or he's really he's stating, and he said [02:48] this before, that the current people [02:50] they're dealing with is actually a [02:52] regime change. It's actually different [02:53] people. [02:55] But think about the juxtaposition of [02:56] those two clips. Four months ago, Trump [02:58] tells the Iranian people, "Your hour of [03:00] freedom is at hand. You'll be able to [03:02] take over your government. Stay inside [03:04] now. We're going to start bombing. We're [03:05] going to create the conditions for you [03:07] to come back out into the street. This [03:08] is your one big chance." [03:11] I'm giving you what you want. And then [03:13] yesterday when he was asked about the [03:14] regime killing its own people, [03:16] murdering, executing people, [03:19] he said essentially that it's not that [03:21] bad anymore. [03:23] And besides, that was a different [03:24] regime. [03:26] So, let me show you what's actually [03:27] happening in Iran right now. Not under a [03:29] first regime or a second regime. [03:32] Right now, under this regime in the in [03:34] like today and in the weeks like last [03:36] week, the week before, what's what's [03:37] been happening in the weeks since [03:40] Trump told the Iranian people their [03:42] freedom was at hand? [03:44] So, you're take a look at this. [03:46] Take a look at this. [03:48] This is Amnesty International. This is [03:49] 41 faces. [03:52] Right? This is Amnesty International. [03:54] These are 41 people who've been [03:55] executed. This was posted on June 2nd. [03:59] 41 people executed for political reasons [04:01] since since February 28th. [04:04] Since the war started. Amnesty called [04:05] them arbitrary executions [04:07] following grossly unfair trials in [04:10] revolutionary courts. [04:12] Uh and Amnesty has been uh [04:14] has been covering this story, right? [04:17] Iran, this is from May 28th, a couple [04:19] weeks ago. Iran mass arbitrary arrests [04:21] and political executions mark [04:23] intensifying repression. It's a it's and [04:25] it's a stu- it it really gives you the [04:27] the sense of this [04:28] it is actually getting it's actually [04:29] getting worse. [04:31] And then we have this. This is from a [04:33] week ago. [04:35] One week ago. Look what this says here. [04:38] The Center for Human Rights in Iran [04:39] reported that executions in Iran are [04:41] happening at a pace, quote, "unmatched [04:43] in decades." [04:45] Prisoners across 56 prisons have been [04:47] staging weekly hunger strikes [04:49] for over 120 consecutive weeks in [04:51] protest [04:53] of executions. [04:55] And it's going on now. And this morning, [04:57] this morning, today, June 16th, [05:01] Iran International headline, Iran [05:02] executes two January protesters [05:06] as post-war crackdown [05:09] continues. [05:11] Javad Zamani and Abolfazl Saeidi were [05:14] arrested during the January protest. [05:16] They were charged with waging war [05:18] against God. [05:20] And the regime published a video of [05:21] their blurred-out faces making forced [05:23] confessions. [05:25] So, when President Trump says the [05:26] killing is much less severe now than [05:28] before, it's First of all, that's not [05:30] accurate. It's accelerating. [05:32] The regime is using the cover of this [05:34] whole negotiation and ceasefire and the [05:36] fact that everyone's eyes are are [05:38] elsewhere, Strait of Hormuz. [05:41] They're using it all as cover to execute [05:43] people faster than any point in recent [05:45] memory. But, here's where it gets even [05:47] more important because the factual [05:48] problem [05:49] saying that it that it's not as bad now [05:51] as it was before, that's that's one [05:54] problem with what Trump said. [05:56] But there's a deeper problem with what [05:58] Trump said that's even bigger. [06:01] This is not a different regime. This is [06:02] not a third regime. When Trump says the [06:04] first and second regimes, he's implying [06:07] that the people running Iran today, [06:09] right now, the people he's negotiating [06:10] with are a different [06:12] government, to different group. That [06:15] there's been regime change. He has said [06:16] that in the last few weeks. [06:18] That the guys who did the worst killing [06:20] are gone, and these are new people. But [06:22] here's the problem, they're not new [06:23] people. I've explaining I've been [06:24] explaining this for months now [06:27] about who the Americans are actually [06:28] talking to in these negotiations. Let me [06:30] bring this back because it's critical. [06:33] The main person that the US has been in [06:34] negotiations with, the person Trump [06:36] himself described as someone whose words [06:38] actually mean something, someone who can [06:40] make things happen, [06:42] is Mohammad [06:43] Bagher Ghalibaf. [06:46] Okay? This guy. [06:48] This guy. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf [06:49] You've seen his face. [06:51] Okay? Mohammad Bagher He is the guy [06:53] they're negotiating with. [06:54] The speaker of the Iranian parliament, [06:56] okay? That is right at the top of the [06:57] Iranian regime. [06:59] I've done I've done full videos on [07:01] Ghalibaf on this channel months ago. So [07:03] some of you guys who've been with me a [07:04] while [07:05] may have seen them. [07:07] You can find them in the in the library [07:09] here on the channel. [07:10] But let me give you the short version [07:12] because you need to understand this [07:13] right now. Cuz we're in the middle of [07:15] this right now, and this is the guy that [07:17] that Trump is empowering. [07:19] It's like in his Venezuela model, this [07:20] is the guy. [07:22] One of two, him and Araghchi, the [07:23] foreign minister. [07:25] But Ghalibaf's the real like he was the [07:26] speaker of the house. [07:28] Now, he's not a new face of a new [07:30] regime. He actually is [07:33] the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, [07:35] okay? He's the He's He's right at the [07:37] top of it. [07:38] He is the regime. Here's how he got to [07:40] where he is. He has openly bragged [07:42] bragged [07:44] about how as a young officer in the IRGC [07:47] he would ride around on a motorcycle [07:48] during protests with a club in his hand [07:51] beating demonstrators in the streets. He [07:53] didn't deny it. He's proud of that. [07:55] In 1999 when there were mass student [07:57] protests against the regime Ghalibaf was [07:59] already in a senior IRGC role and he [08:01] told the supreme leader Khamenei at the [08:04] time that if he didn't crush the [08:05] protests brutally if he didn't fire he [08:07] didn't open fire on students [08:10] he said that he would stage a military [08:11] coup and take and take Khamenei down. [08:14] And the regime fired on the students. [08:17] He then moved up the ladder. He became [08:19] police chief of Tehran. More protesters [08:22] were shot and killed. [08:24] In 2009 during the green movement [08:25] protest the big pro democ- pro democracy [08:28] uprising at that point he was mayor of [08:29] Tehran. [08:32] And again he was responsible for the [08:33] brutal local police suppression of [08:36] protest. People were killed. [08:38] And in January of this year the massacre [08:40] of protest that was going on in January [08:43] when the you know the regime called it a [08:44] coup and a riot right all the you know [08:46] the the tens of thousands of people who [08:48] were who were murdered in January by the [08:49] regime [08:50] January 8th January 9th that week [08:53] he was part of the leadership that [08:54] authorized that mass killing. The [08:56] Iranian people here's here's the key. [08:59] The Iranian people know who he is. You [09:00] can't tell them there's been regime [09:02] change that they have different people [09:03] in charge. The Iranian people know that [09:05] this is one of the most powerful people [09:06] in the country has been for a long time. [09:08] To them he's the butcher. [09:10] He's the face of the brutality of the [09:13] regime. [09:15] When Iranian citizens picture the person [09:17] who has been sending people to their [09:19] deaths in the streets for 25 years they [09:22] picture this guy. [09:24] So when President Trump implies that the [09:26] worst killing happened under a previous [09:28] regime and that now we're dealing with [09:29] different newer more reasonable people [09:34] he is describing a an alternate reality [09:38] that is not [09:40] correct. It It is untrue. [09:42] Ghalibaf did not come from outside the [09:44] system. He built the system. He is the [09:46] system of repression. [09:48] He rose to power by killing protesters. [09:51] Every step up the ladder of for him in [09:54] his career came from demonstrating that [09:56] he was the most brutal in crushing [09:58] dissent. [10:01] Now look, I want to be careful here. We [10:03] don't know. [10:04] I've said this before, Trump is [10:05] deliberately unpredictable. He doesn't [10:07] telegraph his moves. It's possible, and [10:10] I hope this is the case, that what he's [10:11] saying publicly is not what he actually [10:13] believes or intends. [10:16] You know, maybe Trump saying the killing [10:18] is less severe now might be part of [10:19] giving Iran an off-ramp and giving them [10:22] some ability to save face and come to [10:24] the table. Maybe that's possible. [10:28] But it's also possible that he's been [10:30] told by people around him that there's [10:31] some kind of soft regime change that's [10:34] happened, that the mullahs are weakened, [10:35] that Ghalibaf represents a new military [10:37] pragmatism. [10:41] The Iranian Deng Xiaoping or whatever. [10:45] It's a new [10:47] It's a new It's a new world for Iran. [10:49] And if that's what Trump believes, then [10:51] someone needs to tell him that that's [10:52] wrong because that's not who Ghalibaf [10:54] is. [10:55] You can't do a Venezuela model with the [10:57] man who built his entire career on [10:59] murdering [11:01] Iranian citizens. [11:03] And again, the executions are still [11:05] ongoing. There was executions today. [11:08] This reporter asked that question, and [11:10] Trump pretended like this is a problem [11:11] that's behind us. [11:15] Here's the bottom line. [11:16] If Trump cuts a deal that leaves this [11:18] guy, Ghalibaf, and the people around him [11:20] in power, the Iranian people will know. [11:22] You can't say to them, "Oh, this is a [11:24] new regime." [11:25] You can't just will that into existence. [11:27] The The people know that they were [11:28] betrayed, that they were told stay at [11:30] stay at home. We're going to start [11:32] bombing. We're going to create the [11:33] conditions for you to come back out into [11:34] the streets. And then you cut a deal [11:36] with the guy who was murdering them. [11:39] They heard him on February 28th. [11:41] The people heard Trump. [11:43] They heard him say, "Your hour of [11:45] freedom is at hand. Take over your [11:46] government. No president No president [11:48] has ever been willing to do what I'm [11:50] doing tonight." [11:51] And they believed him. [11:53] And yes, they'd been betrayed by other [11:54] presidents who did who didn't lift a [11:55] finger for them. But that's very [11:56] different than telling them, "Here you [11:58] go. Here we go. Here we go. You're about [12:01] to you know the time will be right any [12:02] day now for you to come into the [12:04] streets." [12:09] 41 have been executed since since that [12:11] night. Two more this morning. [12:15] And the ones who are still alive, who [12:16] are in prison, the thousands of them, [12:19] some of them on hunger strike, some of [12:20] them just waiting to be the next one [12:22] executed, [12:23] they know exactly who Ghalibaf is. He's [12:26] not a new regime. [12:29] He's the butcher of the machinery of the [12:31] of the regime. [12:33] So, Trump said something on February [12:35] 28th to the people of Iran. [12:37] And if he makes a deal with Ghalibaf, [12:40] that will render the words that he said [12:42] on February 28th as empty, as bitterly [12:45] bitterly empty as can be. [12:47] And everyone knows it. [12:51] That's what I wanted you to understand [12:53] today. [12:55] Please keep watching. Keep sharing. [12:58] Thank you for helping grow grow the [12:59] channel. Please tell people about this [13:00] channel. And drop me a comment. Let me [13:02] know what you think.
