Transcript [00:00] Of course. Thanks, Kelly. [00:01] >> President Trump, my dear friend Donald, [00:06] I'm so honored and humbled by your [00:09] extraordinary endorsement. [00:12] I could say, and that's easy. There's [00:16] never been a greater friend of Israel in [00:18] the White House. That's an [00:20] understatement. [00:23] President Trump backing Israeli Prime [00:25] Minister Benjamin Netanyahu days before [00:27] Israel's October 27th election, calling [00:30] him a great warrior, Prime Minister, and [00:33] even greater partner for peace in the [00:35] war with Iran. For more reaction, let's [00:38] welcome former Israeli national [00:40] spokesman Elon Levy. Uh Elon, uh will [00:44] this endorsement by President Trump help [00:46] or hurt Netanyahu's re-election efforts? [00:50] Netanyahu is definitely hoping that this [00:52] will help him. I was already spammed on [00:54] my cell phone with text messages from [00:57] Netanyahu's liquid party telling me that [00:59] Trump endorsed him. But I think here's [01:01] the really important point for for [01:03] American viewers. Whoever wins this [01:06] election, everyone wants to finish the [01:08] job against Iran and no one is expecting [01:11] America to do it alone. President Trump [01:14] saying that if Netanyahu doesn't win, [01:16] America might have to do this alone, and [01:18] he doesn't want to do that. Everyone in [01:20] Israel wants the Israeli army to stand [01:22] on its two feet, for Israel to produce [01:25] more of its munitions so we're not [01:27] dependent on the radical Democrats if [01:29] they take over Congress or the [01:31] presidency and to continue acting [01:33] shoulderto-shoulder, wingto-wing with [01:35] the United States in this fight against [01:37] the Iranian regime. [01:40] You mentioned President Trump's comment. [01:42] Um he suggests any alternative leader [01:45] other than Netanyahu would leave the US [01:47] to confront Iran alone. Um he wrote in [01:50] truth social in part quote if Israel has [01:52] the wrong leader which would be anyone [01:55] other than BB America will have to do [01:57] this work ourselves and I'm not inclined [02:00] to do so. But what do you make of that [02:03] comment? Uh if BB Netanyahu is not from [02:07] an American perspective, if he's not [02:09] reelected, does this mean that Trump [02:12] will withdraw US forces from the Middle [02:14] East? [02:16] >> Everyone who is running for prime [02:18] minister in Israel now wants to finish [02:20] the job against the Iranian regime and [02:22] wants Israeli jets to do it wingto-wing [02:26] with the United States if the United [02:27] States wants to help. that for Israel to [02:29] stand on its two feet. I think Americans [02:31] can really rest assured and be reassured [02:34] that whoever forms a government in [02:37] Israel, no one is expecting America to [02:39] fight wars for it. Everyone wants the [02:42] Israeli army to be as strong and [02:44] powerful as possible to create even more [02:47] of the technologies that we're able to [02:49] supply to the United States to protect [02:51] the United States army and that Israel [02:54] will continue taking care of its own [02:56] security in the region. That's true [02:58] whoever wins this election. [03:02] >> Where do the polls stand right now um [03:05] for BB Netanyahu's reelection? Are they [03:08] for or against him? [03:09] >> The polls are all over. Yeah, the polls [03:11] are all over the place at the moment. [03:12] That's what happens when you have so [03:14] many parties and there are maybe 12 [03:16] parties that will get into the next [03:18] Knesset. It will depend on what voter [03:21] turnout is in different groups. How [03:24] people change their minds at the last [03:26] minute because there are so many parties [03:28] to choose from and whether they're [03:30] telling the pollsters the truth. Most of [03:33] the polls are saying that Netanyahu's [03:36] block of religious and right-wing [03:38] parties has no chance of winning an [03:41] overall majority, but that doesn't mean [03:43] the opposition will be able to form a [03:46] government either. There is a chance, [03:48] some of the polls are saying Netanyahu [03:50] will win an outright majority. That's [03:52] currently a dark horse scenario. [03:54] Israelis are looking at the most likely [03:56] outcome of deadlock between the two [03:59] blocks and some politicians having to [04:02] claim down from promises they made. But [04:04] there is still a week to go, still [04:06] plenty of time for the campaigns to turn [04:09] out their people and still plenty of [04:11] time for people to change their minds, [04:13] especially if there are surprising [04:14] events between now and next week. [04:18] Given Israel has to build a coalition [04:20] government, will we know next Tuesday [04:23] who the next prime minister is? [04:27] >> We are extremely unlikely to know [04:30] immediately after polls close who will [04:33] form a government. It could depend on [04:35] which of the smaller parties manage to [04:38] make it into the Knesset at all. And [04:40] that means it could depend on uh really [04:43] counting every single vote. But if [04:45] neither Netanyahu's block nor Gaddy [04:48] Eisenot's block reaches that magic [04:50] number of 61, we enter a period of [04:54] uncertainty. The Israeli president will [04:56] convene all the parties, consult with [04:59] them about who should be prime minister. [05:02] He'll give someone a chance to form a [05:04] government. They will then need to [05:06] negotiate with the different parties, [05:09] offer them different ministries and [05:11] budgets to try to form a government. If [05:13] that first person doesn't manage, a [05:15] second person can have a [05:21] >> Elon, I think we just we just uh we just [05:24] lost your feed, but thank you so much. [05:26] That was very informative. Uh Elon Levy, [05:28] thank you. Coming up, fiery
President Donald Trump has endorsed Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Israel’s October 27 election, but Eylon Levy makes one thing clear: regardless of who wins, Israel is determined to confront the Iranian regime and take responsibility for its own security.
In this revealing interview on **Newsmax**, former Israeli national spokesman Eylon Levy explains:
- **Trump's Netanyahu endorsement:** Whether the US president's backing will influence Israel's upcoming election.
- **Israel's fight against Iran:** Why Levy believes Israel's political leaders share a commitment to confronting the Iranian regime, regardless of who becomes prime minister.
- **US-Israel military cooperation:** Why Israel wants to strengthen its military independence while continuing to work alongside the United States.
- **Netanyahu's uncertain electoral future:** Why conflicting polls, voter turnout, and Israel's fragmented political landscape make the election difficult to predict.
- **The possibility of political deadlock:** How coalition negotiations could delay the formation of Israel's next government.
As Israel approaches a pivotal election amid its confrontation with Iran, questions surrounding American support, military independence, and political stability are taking center stage. The outcome could shape Israel's leadership and its relationship with Washington, even as Levy argues that the country's fundamental security priorities will remain unchanged.
