Transcript [00:00] To wit, this morning in the Telegraph, [00:02] Israel has said that Ed Miliband's [00:03] patronizing criticism of its West Bank [00:06] plans has damaged Britain's relationship [00:08] with the country. Brilliant. Well done, [00:10] Ed. Let's talk to Eylon Levy, who's over [00:13] there in Israel right now. Eylon, very [00:14] good morning to you. [00:17] Oh, I can't hear you. Are you muted? [00:19] Possibly. [00:22] Could you be muted? No? [00:25] Try again. Yeah, there you go. There we [00:27] are. That's it, yeah. [00:28] >> How are you, mate? [00:29] >> I'm all right. I'm all right, but I'm [00:30] not encouraged, I have to say, by this [00:32] useless government, which appears to be [00:34] even more useless than the last one. [00:36] >> No, it would be nice if the British [00:38] government stopped picking fights with [00:40] some of its most important allies. But [00:43] then again, I saw everything seems to be [00:45] going swimmingly with the "Please don't [00:46] rape us" leaflets. [00:47] >> Yes. [00:48] >> It's frankly bizarre that the Labour [00:50] government has decided to pick a fight [00:53] with Israel on all things about a [00:56] housing project on the outskirts of [00:58] Jerusalem. [00:59] >> Yeah. [00:59] >> Israel has been fighting a multi-front [01:01] war for the last few years against [01:03] terrorist armies that want to destroy [01:05] it. And the idea that Israel is ever [01:07] going to surrender strategic territory [01:10] on the outskirts of its capital city is [01:13] frankly delusional. But look, it's clear [01:15] the Labour government has made a [01:16] strategic decision that it wants to go [01:19] for a diplomatic campaign against [01:22] Israel. And this is just the trigger, [01:24] this fight about a housing project on [01:26] the outskirts of Jerusalem. It's [01:28] tremendously damaging to the UK-Israel [01:30] relationship. I think most people don't [01:32] I had to double-check the figures. [01:34] Israel is the United Kingdom's second [01:36] biggest defense supplier by a country [01:39] mile. [01:39] >> Yeah. [01:40] >> So, really just bizarre that Britain [01:41] would choose to pick a fight with with [01:43] Israel over a housing project. [01:44] >> Yeah. And it's particularly ridiculous [01:46] because they've also signed a joint [01:48] declaration, I think, the UK government [01:50] with [01:51] a bunch of other weak-willed and useless [01:54] European countries about how what Israel [01:56] is doing is illegal under international [01:58] law. Well, you know, they maybe want to [02:01] pay a bit more attention to what's going [02:02] on in their own countries as opposed to [02:04] trying to tell you guys what to do. You [02:06] know, I mean, as far as I'm concerned, [02:08] it's none of our business what you do in [02:09] Jerusalem. I don't see why it's got [02:11] anything to do with Andy Burnham or [02:13] bloody Ed Miliband, to be honest. [02:15] >> Mike, I think the British, Canadian, and [02:16] French governments are paying lots of [02:18] attention to what's happening within [02:19] their own borders, and that's why [02:20] they're succumbing to the pressure from [02:22] the mobs on the streets. They see the [02:24] pro-Palestinian and pro-terrorist [02:26] protest crying "From the river to the [02:28] sea." And they realize they're in [02:29] serious trouble. These are their [02:30] constituencies. If Labour doesn't [02:32] placate the woke Islamist base in [02:34] Britain, they're going to go off to the [02:36] Greens and endanger their majority. [02:39] And so here you see the Labour [02:40] government sacrificing Britain's foreign [02:43] relations, sabotaging its relations with [02:45] a key ally in order to placate a [02:48] domestic base that it's never going to [02:51] be extreme enough for it. That's the [02:53] nature of Palestinian radicalism. [02:57] But you're absolutely right. We need to [02:59] be focusing Israel and Britain together [03:02] on deepening that defense partnership, [03:04] deepening that trade partnership, [03:05] working out how we bring more prosperity [03:07] to both countries, how we procure the [03:09] essential defense technology that we [03:12] need to protect both our countries in an [03:13] increasingly dangerous world, and not [03:16] take an axe to a critical defense [03:18] relationship because you want to placate [03:20] the people who are marching up and down [03:22] Whitehall in masks screaming "From the [03:24] river to the sea." [03:25] >> Well, exactly right. And I'm I'm looking [03:27] at a statement from the Minister of [03:28] Foreign Affairs from Israel, Gideon [03:30] Saar, I think is the is the right [03:32] pronunciation, which he says [03:34] basically the British Foreign [03:35] Secretary's statement is entirely [03:37] one-sided. It condemns Israel while [03:38] turning a blind eye to Palestinian [03:40] terrorism, incitement, and the [03:42] Palestinian Authority's continued [03:43] financial support for terror, the [03:45] pay-for-slay policy, [03:48] which reminds me to ask you about Hamas [03:50] because I was listening to a [03:51] conversation the other day [03:52] on another channel about how Hamas is [03:54] still not [03:57] been destroyed if you like. I mean, I I [03:58] don't suppose you would expect it to be [04:00] completely destroyed. But what's the [04:01] what's the status of Hamas right now in [04:04] Gaza? [04:05] >> The status is Hamas is still the [04:07] government of half of Gaza. [04:09] >> Right. [04:09] >> Hamas controls half of Gaza. Hamas [04:12] controls the territory where the world [04:14] is pumping 600 trucks full of food and [04:17] supplies every single day. Hamas is [04:19] getting filthy rich off national aid and [04:22] it's running running a huge welfare [04:24] fraud cuz it's convinced Britain that [04:26] they need to send even more food into [04:28] Hamas run territory. Hamas is refusing [04:31] to disarm. Hamas is refusing to [04:33] relinquish power and Hamas is the block [04:36] to any progress towards peace or [04:38] reconstruction in the Gaza Strip. This [04:41] is the jihadi terrorist army that [04:43] invaded Israel 3 years ago with the [04:45] October 7th massacre and it's refusing [04:47] to go quietly into the night because [04:49] it's a barbaric jihadi Islamist [04:52] organization that's an apocalyptic [04:54] suicidal cult. That's where we need [04:56] Britain to use its influence. That's [04:58] where we need to see British power help [05:00] us get rid of Hamas, pressure Hamas to [05:03] relinquish power and disarm so the whole [05:06] region can move forward. That's the [05:08] obstacle to peace in the region, the [05:10] terrorist army that controls Gaza, not a [05:13] few Israeli houses on the outskirts of [05:14] Jerusalem. [05:15] >> Right. And presumably as well the [05:18] Israeli Defense Forces are no longer in [05:20] Gaza because the IDF pulled out as far [05:23] as I'm aware. [05:24] So there's there's [05:26] what's what's going on with that? [05:28] >> No, no, no. The war ended with Israel in [05:31] control of half of the Gaza Strip [05:34] and Hamas in control of the other half. [05:36] >> Right. [05:36] >> And the board of peace plan says Hamas [05:39] must disarm completely before Israel [05:43] withdraws from the rest of the Gaza [05:45] Strip. Israel is not going to pull back [05:48] and give territory to the terrorist army [05:50] that wants to abduct little children [05:52] from their beds all over again like it [05:54] did on October 7th. First, the total [05:57] demilitarization of Gaza, total [05:59] demilitarization, [06:01] and then Israel can withdraw. But Hamas [06:03] is trying to pressure Israel into [06:05] pulling out before it gives up gives up [06:07] its arms, and that's obviously not going [06:09] to happen. [06:10] >> And that is the problem, isn't it? And [06:11] so and we we so we continue down the [06:14] same route, I suppose, until somebody [06:16] somebody gives in in some way on on [06:18] their side. [06:20] >> Well, at the moment Hamas is refusing to [06:22] disarm, and the whole world, I think, I [06:24] hope, understands that has to happen [06:27] first. The terrorist army that wants to [06:29] kidnap little children from their beds [06:31] cannot be allowed to hold onto its arms. [06:33] And Mike, there can be no reconstruction [06:35] for the poor people in Gaza, either, [06:37] until Hamas disarms. No country is going [06:40] to put money in sending concrete into [06:43] Gaza if Hamas is just going to pour it [06:46] straight back into the tunnels under [06:48] people's houses instead of building [06:50] people's houses. So, those poor people [06:53] are going to be stuck in tents without [06:56] real housing as long as Hamas insists on [06:59] using the Gaza Strip as a launch pad for [07:01] attacks against Israel. For the sake of [07:03] peace, Hamas has got to go. And that [07:06] means it needs to understand that it's [07:08] game over. And hey, when Hamas sees the [07:10] British government picking a fight with [07:12] Israel over housing on the outskirts of [07:15] Jerusalem, do you think Hamas gets the [07:17] message that the whole world is against [07:19] Hamas and it needs to back down? Or does [07:22] it think that it can continue squeezing [07:23] Israel because Britain is picking [07:25] picking pointless fights with it? What [07:27] do you think? [07:28] >> Yeah, well, it's pretty obvious, isn't [07:29] it? I mean, that is that is where that's [07:30] their strength, isn't it? That's where [07:31] they that they they take their [07:32] inspiration from from Ed Miliband and [07:36] and Andy Burnham. [07:37] >> When when the Labour government under [07:38] Keir Starmer, remember him, recognized a [07:41] non-existent Palestinian state. Hamas [07:44] said that was one of the fruits of the [07:46] October 7th massacre. [07:48] Hamas sees this Labour government's [07:52] policies as a reward for beheading and [07:55] raping and kidnapping people in the [07:57] October 7th massacre. So, you know, I [08:00] don't know how Hamas can say it any more [08:02] clearly. The British government needs to [08:04] get the message that Hamas is feeling [08:06] emboldened by this pressure on Israel, [08:08] not feeling that it has to back down so [08:10] that everyone can move on with their [08:12] lives. [08:13] >> Yeah, I know. It's absolutely shameful, [08:15] shameful and shocking. And if I could, I [08:17] would apologize to you on behalf of the [08:18] government, uh, which I will do. But if [08:20] only I could tell them give a good slap, [08:22] I would. But listen, Elon [08:24] >> I don't think you get to speak on behalf [08:26] of the British government. [08:27] >> I know. Well, if only I could, the world [08:28] would be a much safer place, I'll tell [08:30] you. Uh, good to see you, Elon. Thank [08:31] you very much indeed, Elon Levy, uh, [08:33] there with uh, the view from Israel. Uh, [08:35] not a very pleasant one, unfortunately, [08:37] because unfort- you know, look at all [08:38] this great stuff that's coming up here. [08:40] Pukes have played a blinder with the [08:42] graphics. Look at this. Subscribe to the [08:43] Mike Graham Show, [08:44] uh, Friday, 8:15 a.m. Fantastic.
