Transcript [00:00] Hamas has been probing the waters with [00:02] Israel's defenses yet again by launching [00:04] a form of attack we've not seen in a [00:07] couple of years. Obviously, Prime [00:09] Minister Netanyao and the Defense [00:10] Minister are vowing quick action against [00:13] Kamas, but their hands may now be tied [00:15] by the Board of Peace. Also, the Board [00:18] of Peace is finally launching [00:20] construction on an actual military base [00:22] in Gaza for the incoming international [00:25] force. [00:27] So Kamas has once again begun attacking [00:30] Israel and this time it's by launching [00:33] explosive kites from Gaza. Basically [00:36] Kamas is attaching a burning material or [00:38] explosive to the tail of the kite or [00:41] helium filled balloon. These kites and [00:43] balloons are then launched into the wind [00:45] to be carried anywhere in Israel. When [00:48] one of these lands in an open field, [00:50] they can quickly start a wildfire. [00:53] Israel doesn't get any rain from about [00:55] April through September. So, right now, [00:57] open fields in Israel are like a tinder [01:00] box. And these kinds of weapons can [01:01] cause a lot of damage. You can see a [01:04] couple of videos here from some of the [01:06] fires caused a few years ago from this [01:08] exact same kind of attack. It looks like [01:12] as of Monday, Kamas launched somewhere [01:14] around 20 kites toward Israel, and 10 of [01:17] these were shot down by the IDF. This is [01:20] a highly effective weapon because it [01:22] seems innocent. Basim Naim, a member of [01:26] Kamasa's political bureau, claimed in a [01:28] statement that the kites were quote [01:30] launched from Gaza by children searching [01:33] for their innocent childhood amid the [01:35] rubble, which obviously is a bunch of [01:38] nonsense. If these actually were [01:40] children's kites, why on earth would [01:42] they have explosives and incendiary [01:44] devices attached to them? And also, why [01:47] do we have actual video of who's doing [01:48] the launching? As you can see here, [01:51] nevertheless, logic doesn't seem to stop [01:54] stupidity. There were dozens of social [01:56] media posts across the internet this [01:58] week with videos and posts like this [02:01] insinuating that Israel was massively [02:03] overreacting to the children's kites [02:05] floating across the border. Also, Kamas [02:08] quickly took advantage of the trend to [02:10] film a string of propaganda videos of [02:12] their own in Gaza of kids destroying [02:15] their kites. [02:17] This one is especially bad because you [02:19] can tell the boy is barely holding back [02:20] a laugh. And if you listen, you can [02:22] actually hear the person behind the [02:23] camera who's filming the video laughing [02:26] as well. [02:29] Obviously, this is all performative at [02:31] this point. There's nothing stopping [02:33] these kids from flying kites on strings [02:35] inside of Gaza. They're several miles [02:37] from the Israeli border. So if they're [02:39] flying these kites normally, there is no [02:41] way Israel would interpret that as a [02:44] threat. The threat comes when you attach [02:46] an explosive to that kite and launch it [02:48] without a string toward Israel. Israel [02:51] will then detect it coming over the [02:53] border miles away from where these kids [02:55] are and shoot it down. There's a huge [02:58] difference and everyone involved knows [03:00] this. It's only in stupid propaganda [03:02] land where people actually think Israel [03:04] is shooting down children's kites inside [03:06] of Gaza. I don't think I need to remind [03:08] you that wildfires are extremely [03:10] dangerous, especially right now with how [03:12] dry things are in Israel. And often when [03:15] there is a major fire in Israel, [03:17] property is lost and people and animals [03:19] are in danger. And this is exactly why [03:22] the so-called Palestinians have used [03:24] this as an effective weapon for years [03:26] now. This is just a super minor example, [03:28] but years ago I was filming an [03:30] inspirational short film with a friend [03:31] of mine on Harbor in Israel. This film [03:34] was centered around a vine in an Israeli [03:37] vineyard close to our house. I'll link [03:39] the film below if you want to watch it. [03:42] Several times I drove out to this one [03:44] particular vine to film it in various [03:46] lighting conditions, and little did I [03:47] know that I was being watched. A few [03:50] minutes after driving away from the last [03:52] time that I needed to film there, an [03:54] Arab dumped gas around it and lit a [03:57] fire. Thankfully, we saw the smoke in [03:59] time and were able to get there to [04:00] prevent a major fire, but the intention [04:02] was clear. Somebody saw me filming that [04:05] vine and wanted to put a stop to it and [04:07] also burn the vineyard down. When we [04:10] arrived to put out the fire, we saw the [04:12] clear trail of gas that was dumped [04:13] around the vine and the discarded [04:15] lighter that was thrown in the bushes. [04:18] But to go back to these attacks from [04:20] Gaza, Israel is taking this very [04:23] seriously. Prime Minister BB Netany and [04:25] Defense Minister Israel Katz just [04:27] released a joint statement where they [04:28] said, quote, "Israel warns Hamas that if [04:31] the launches toward Israel do not stop [04:33] immediately, the IDF will act to [04:35] intensify strikes against those [04:37] responsible for the launches and [04:39] evacuate populations from areas from [04:41] which kites, drones, and balloons are [04:44] launched." They also said, quote, "A [04:46] balloon and kite shall be treated the [04:48] same as a drone." Israel is obviously [04:52] concerned this could majorly escalate if [04:54] not addressed with force over 2018 to [04:57] 202021. There was a huge wave of these [04:59] kite and balloon attacks that caused a [05:02] major damage in Israel and Israeli [05:04] leadership is very serious about [05:05] preventing this from happening again. [05:08] But what may now be stopping Israel from [05:10] actually taking action to defend their [05:12] borders is this new port of peace that [05:14] has come into Gaza. We'll get into that [05:17] along with new action the board of peace [05:19] is taking to actually build a military [05:21] force in Gaza here in a minute. But [05:24] first, I want to show you something that [05:26] has been a favorite for our team. It's [05:28] the Daily Bread Bible Journal for [05:31] Christians. It's a one-year plan that [05:33] takes you through the entire Bible, a [05:35] portion from the Torah, the prophets, [05:37] the writings, and the New Testament [05:39] every day. What we love about it is that [05:42] every page ties your readings to the [05:44] biblical Hebrew calendar, marks the [05:46] feast and holidays as they're actually [05:48] kept in Israel, and has an on this day [05:50] in history note at the bottom. It's a [05:54] beautiful hardcover book with blank [05:56] journal lines to write down whatever [05:57] hits you as you read. This year's [05:59] reading plan starts October 4th on [06:02] Simura and it's on pre-order right now. [06:06] Every single copy helps fund our [06:08] volunteer work on the ground in Israel. So basically, the new Board [06:17] of Peace, the group that's come in to [06:19] oversee the transition of Gaza from [06:21] Israeli control back to civilian, is [06:24] panicking that these attacks will set [06:26] back the supposed progress that they've [06:28] made with Kamas. This last week, they [06:30] informed Kamas that the launching of the [06:33] kites at Israel needs to stop, warning [06:36] that Israel may have to restart air [06:38] strikes in Gaza again if they didn't. [06:41] But at the same time, they also stressed [06:43] to Israel that Israel is under the [06:45] obligation of the ceasefire agreement [06:47] and they said that military action must [06:49] be limited in response to real and [06:52] immediate threats, whatever they [06:54] consider that to be. It's so hard to see [06:57] once again an international force [06:59] meddling in Israel's defense. Time and [07:02] time again when the international [07:03] community gets involved in stuff like [07:04] this, whether it's the UN peacekeeping [07:06] forces in the Sinai or in Lebanon or [07:09] wherever, they tend to intervene when [07:10] Israel goes to defend themselves and [07:12] then run for the hills when the Arabs [07:14] mount an attack. And here in Gaza, I'd [07:16] almost guarantee this will be no [07:19] different. While it's unclear if it's [07:21] related to the Kite attacks or not, [07:23] Israel did manage to carry out at least [07:26] one major set of strikes in Gaza this [07:28] week. On Monday, the IDF and ISA [07:31] conducted a joint operation where they [07:33] struck two major kamas weapons storage [07:35] facilities containing rifles, magazines, [07:37] and additional military equipment. These [07:40] storage facilities were located inside [07:42] of two mosques and Israel issued [07:44] advanced warnings to local civilians [07:46] before strikes and uh issued a statement [07:48] condemning Hamas for the use of mosques [07:50] for military operations. But of course, [07:53] no one in the international community [07:55] really seems to care about that at all. [07:58] All of this comes as the Board of Peace [08:00] announces the construction of their [08:02] first military base in Gaza to house [08:04] Moroccan troops. Basically, they are [08:07] currently finalizing a contract with a [08:09] Louisiana based construction firm to do [08:11] the building. This firm has done [08:13] projects like this for the US government [08:15] and countries like Iraq. According to [08:18] reports, the plan is to build this base [08:20] in the 60% of Gaza that Israel currently [08:23] controls about a mile from Israel's [08:25] border. The base would be a hobble where [08:27] Moroccan troops can rotate in and out [08:29] from being stationed in Israel. This [08:32] base is supposed to be built with [08:34] fighting positions, a perimeter burm, [08:36] and facilities suitable for short-term [08:38] deployment. Although they were quick to [08:40] mention that the location of the base [08:42] made for a possible quick extraction [08:45] back to Israel if the forest station [08:47] there should come under attack, which [08:50] like I said earlier, they are already [08:52] making plans to run for the hills if [08:54] kamas resists. I'm sure the IDF will [08:56] have to come to their rescue, which of [08:58] course makes all of this feel especially [09:01] pointless. So, we'll see where this [09:03] goes. They are supposed to bring in some [09:05] 5,000 international troops to oversee [09:07] peace in Gaza, and this is supposed to [09:10] be a very small beginning to that [09:12] ambition. Obviously, I have major doubts [09:14] that this arrangement will produce [09:15] anything meaningful in Gaza. Uh, but [09:18] stranger things have happened before. [09:20] Don't forget if you want to read through [09:22] the whole Bible this year, our Daily [09:24] Bread Bible Journal is on pre-order now [09:26] and every copy supports our volunteer [09:28] work in Israel.
