Yesterday in eastern Rafah, IDF Golani troops were ambushed by Hamas. Earlier, soldiers found and destroyed five loaded rocket launchers aimed at Israel. A recon unit then spotted a man entering a building under a blanket; when an APC investigated, two terrorists emerged from a hidden tunnel and fired an RPG, wounding five soldiers (one seriously). Troops killed one attacker; the other escaped into the tunnel. Netanyahu vowed a strong response, saying Hamas continues violating the ceasefire.
Hours later, the IDF struck Khan Yunis and killed Hamas’s Eastern Rafah Battalion commander, his deputy, and senior aides in a tunnel. Separately, Israel completed installing the Arrow 3 missile-defense system in Germany—the largest defense export in its history ($4.6B). A moved Israeli official, a Holocaust survivor’s son, said the system built by Jewish minds out of existential need will now help protect Germany.
The Palestinian Authority, facing collapse after Israel froze tax transfers over its expanded “pay-for-slay” stipends to terrorists, received a $90M Saudi bailout—money that indirectly sustains payments for killing Jews while Riyadh discusses joining the Abraham Accords.
In Lebanon, the IDF issued urgent evacuation warnings for the south and began heavy airstrikes on Hezbollah infrastructure last night. Israel says it is ready for any scenario and will reassess with the US soon, though timing remains unpredictable. Netanyahu will meet Trump at Mar-a-Lago late December.
