Transcript [00:00] Is the Ukraine-Russia war [00:03] converging with the war against Iran? [00:07] That is the subject of our video today. [00:09] And it's all based on some stuff that's [00:11] happened in the last couple days. Let's [00:12] get just get right to the headlines. No [00:14] reason to give more of an introduction. [00:16] Let's get to it. Iran says Ukrainian [00:18] attack on vessel [00:20] in Caspian Sea killed sailor. What is [00:24] this about? Iran's Foreign Ministry [00:26] condemned on Saturday, two days ago, a [00:30] Ukrainian attack on an Iranian [00:32] commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea, [00:35] saying it resulted in an explosion that [00:37] killed one sailor and injured another. [00:39] So, there's an Iranian commercial [00:41] vessel, so they say, in the Caspian Sea [00:45] and Ukraine attacked it. Throughout the [00:47] war in Ukraine, Kyiv has had to counter [00:49] Iranian-designed drones deployed by [00:52] Moscow. [00:54] Okay, so the Russians have been using [00:57] Iranian drones. Kyiv has offered its [01:00] drone interception expertise to [01:02] countries in the Middle East that have [01:03] suffered strikes from Iran. [01:05] Tehran described the attack on its [01:07] vessel as an act of aggression and said [01:09] it would defend its national interests [01:10] and security, while accusing Kyiv of [01:13] seeking to expand the war in Ukraine. [01:16] The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned [01:18] Ukraine's Chargé d'Affaires in Tehran to [01:21] convey its protest over what it [01:23] described as a quote hostile and [01:25] criminal attack, Iran's state news [01:27] agency IRNA reported. [01:30] The Iranian denunciation coincided with [01:32] comments by Ukrainian President [01:34] Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Kyiv had noted [01:36] Russia was passing on its satellite [01:39] observations in the Middle East to Iran [01:41] to enable it to detect strikes in the [01:43] region. [01:45] So, Zelenskyy made this announcement the [01:46] other day. We'll get more into it soon, [01:48] that the Russians have been helping Iran [01:52] with satellite info. [01:54] Zelenskyy had earlier said that [01:56] Ukraine's forces struck a Russian [01:57] warship [01:59] and vessels used for transporting [02:01] Iranian-linked military cargo in the [02:03] Caspian Sea. So, this is a separate [02:04] incident that Zelensky had mentioned [02:07] that again a Russian warship that was [02:09] transporting Iranian-linked military [02:12] cargo. Iranian-linked. [02:14] Ukrainian president in subsequent [02:15] remarks posted on X said Kyiv had [02:17] recorded since the beginning of July, [02:20] quote, active Russian satellite [02:22] surveillance of the Gulf states and US [02:25] military facilities located there. These [02:27] image These images subsequently appear [02:30] in Iran. At the same time, there's a [02:32] clear correlation between Russia's [02:34] satellite imagery of these sites and [02:36] Iranian strikes both before the attacks [02:39] in preparation for them and afterward to [02:41] assess the damage inflicted, Zelensky [02:42] said. So, Zelensky is alleging [02:44] that the successful Iranian attacks on [02:47] some [02:47] on some US military targets in the [02:49] Middle East of late, and we know that a [02:51] few American servicemen have been [02:52] killed, [02:54] were uh [02:56] that in those attacks the Iranians made [02:58] use of intelligence supplied to them by [03:00] the Russians. He said that on July 19th [03:03] and 20th alone Russian satellite [03:04] observation had included four airbases, [03:07] two in Bahrain, one in Jordan, and one [03:09] in Kuwait. [03:11] Okay, and here we have that other event. [03:13] Ukraine says it hit Russian warship and [03:15] ships used for Iran-linked military [03:18] cargo in the Caspian. [03:21] Okay. [03:22] Um and here's Iran's response to all [03:24] this. Iran raises Caspian Sea ship [03:27] attack with EU. This was posted [03:29] yesterday. Iran's foreign minister [03:31] discussed the military attack on an [03:32] Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian [03:34] Sea during a phone call with European [03:36] Union's [03:37] with the European Union's foreign policy [03:39] chief [03:40] condemning the incident and calling for [03:41] a strong response from the UN Security [03:43] Council. [03:44] Uh from the UN Security Council, the EU, [03:46] and the international community. [03:47] Separately, Iran's foreign ministry [03:49] summoned Ukraine's chargé d'affaires to [03:51] protest the attack. According to Iran's [03:53] foreign ministry, foreign minister Abbas [03:55] Aragchi described the attack on Iranian [03:57] commercial on Iranian commercial vessel [04:00] as a criminal act [04:01] and called for the those responsible to [04:03] be held accountable. Meanwhile, Iran's [04:05] foreign ministry announced [04:07] that you Ukraine's charge d'affaires had [04:09] been summoned by Manouchehr Moradi, [04:12] assistant foreign minister and director [04:13] general for Eurasia. And he conveyed [04:16] their their protest. [04:18] The ministry reiterated Iran has not [04:20] been a party to the Russia-Ukraine [04:22] conflict and called on the UN Security [04:24] Council, European countries, and UN [04:26] member states to take a responsible [04:27] stance and hold those responsible for [04:30] the attack accountable. [04:32] Now, they claim it was a commercial [04:33] vessel, and even in this Reuters [04:35] even in this Reuters account, it it [04:38] didn't say that it was anything anything [04:40] other than a [04:41] than a commercial vessel. It just said [04:43] that in addition to striking this [04:45] commercial vessel, they've also been [04:47] concerned about [04:49] about Russian about weaponry going, you [04:51] know, going between Iran and Russia. But [04:53] take a look at this. Iranian ship struck [04:55] by Ukraine contained drone mis- and [04:58] missile components, Kyiv's Israel envoy [05:01] reveals. [05:03] So So Look at this. [05:05] The ship Ukraine struck in the Caspian [05:07] Sea on Saturday contained components for [05:10] drones and missiles [05:12] on their way to Iran. [05:15] Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgen [05:17] Korniychuk said in an interview with [05:19] N-12 on Sunday. [05:22] Iran claimed the ship was carrying [05:24] civilian goods when it was attacked by [05:25] Ukraine and accused Ukraine of seeking [05:27] to expand the Russia-Ukraine war. [05:29] Ukrainian President Zelenskyy announced [05:31] the attack on Saturday in a post on on X [05:34] saying that Ukraine had conducted [05:35] long-range strikes in the Caspian Sea, [05:37] including vessels used in military cargo [05:40] shipments involving Iran. [05:42] But at that point, we thought it might [05:43] be referring to the to the Russian ship [05:46] that had been hit that in that separate [05:47] incident. Kornichuk stated that this was [05:49] not the first time Ukraine had hit such [05:51] military targets and that the [05:53] expectation is it will happen again, [05:55] adding that Ukraine views such shipments [05:57] as legitimate military targets. Israel [05:59] and Ukraine are fighting the same enemy, [06:01] Kornichuk said. I found this to be the [06:02] most interesting sentence of his [06:04] interview. Israel and Ukraine are [06:06] fighting the same enemy. That is a a [06:09] kind of clarity [06:11] that it's refreshing to hear. Yes, it's [06:15] the same enemy. [06:17] The Russian, Chinese, Iranian axis is [06:20] the enemy that Ukraine is fighting. It's [06:23] the enemy that Israel is fighting. It's [06:25] the enemy that threatens the West. [06:28] That's the enemy. It's all one enemy. [06:30] It's so refreshing to hear someone say [06:32] it. [06:33] On Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister [06:35] Abbas Aragchi responded to the incident [06:37] on X, saying that Zelenskyy has attacked [06:40] an Iranian commercial vessel, killing a [06:41] sailor. A blatant UN Charter violation [06:44] done at Israel's behest to drag Europe [06:46] into its war. In calls with EU high rep [06:50] Callas and and Foreign Minister Lavrov, [06:53] made clear that what the freeloader [06:56] Kyiv did cannot go unanswered, Aragchi [06:59] added. Lavrov, in a statement posted on [07:01] the Russian Foreign Ministry's website, [07:03] offered condolences in connection with [07:04] the death of the sailor in the attack. [07:06] Lavrov said Aragchi thanked local [07:08] authorities in the Russian region of [07:11] Astrakhan, [07:13] where the vessel started its journey, [07:15] for helping the crew [07:17] and stressed the need to put an end to [07:19] such adventures by the Kyiv regime. The [07:21] statement also said Aragchi informed [07:22] Lavrov of continuing diplomatic efforts [07:25] aimed at de-escalating tension in the [07:26] Middle East. Now, here's what's [07:27] interesting. This comes on the heels of [07:30] a recent statement from US President [07:32] Donald Trump. [07:38] Sorry, there's some honking outside. I I [07:40] once got a comment from one of the [07:41] viewers saying that he was driving in [07:43] his car and the honking was very was [07:44] dangerous to him. I'm sorry about that. [07:46] Nothing I can do. This comes on the [07:47] heels of a recent statement from US [07:49] President Donald Trump on Truth Social [07:51] on Friday in which he claimed that [07:52] Russian President Vladimir Putin assured [07:54] him that Russia was not selling weapons [07:56] to Iran. If they did, it would be very [07:58] bad for them, certainly not in their [07:59] best interests, Trump emphasized in the [08:02] post. [08:03] And here from Iran International, which [08:05] is an Iranian opposition website, [08:08] Ukraine moves to to aid US in Iran war [08:12] after striking Tehran-Moscow supply [08:14] link. Ukraine is moving more directly [08:17] into the Iran war, offering to share [08:19] intelligence about Russian assistance to [08:21] Tehran while striking vessels that Kiev [08:23] says form part of the military supply [08:25] network connecting Iran and Moscow. [08:29] President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said [08:30] Saturday that he would order Ukrainian [08:32] intelligence to provide partner [08:34] countries with information showing that [08:36] Russia had helped Iran prepare strikes [08:38] against US military facilities and [08:41] regional states. Quote, I will instruct [08:43] our intelligence to share with our [08:45] partners the information we have we have [08:48] regarding Russia's new assistance to the [08:50] Iranian regime. [08:52] Zelenskyy said in a post on X. Zelenskyy [08:55] and Ukraine had recorded active Russian [08:57] satellite surveillance of Persian Gulf [08:59] states and US military facilities there [09:02] since the beginning of July. He alleged [09:04] that the resulting images were [09:05] transferred to Iran and that Russian [09:07] satellite activity closely corresponded [09:10] with the Iranian attacks, both before [09:13] strikes to assist preparations and [09:15] afterward to assess the damage. [09:18] And and then it mentions that on July we [09:20] saw this line already in another [09:21] article. On July 19th and 20th alone, [09:24] four airbases fell within the area of [09:26] interest of Russian satellites, two in [09:27] Bahrain, one in Jordan, one in Kuwait. [09:30] Zelenskyy did not publish evidence [09:32] supporting the allegation, but his [09:33] pledge to share Ukraine's intelligence [09:35] with its partners represents a [09:36] potentially significant role for Kiev in [09:39] the US-led war against Iran, [09:41] particularly given Ukraine's experience [09:43] tracking Russian surveillance systems [09:45] and countering Iranian-designed drones. [09:47] So, here's a So, [09:49] So, the the experts in the world the [09:51] country in the world with the most [09:52] experience defending against Iranian [09:54] drones is is is Ukraine. So, now they're [09:57] going to offer help to [10:00] those countries in the Gulf area in the [10:02] Middle East who are dealing with the [10:03] same Iranian drones. [10:07] Um [10:08] Yeah, CBS News reported that Zelenskyy [10:10] planned to share evidence with the [10:11] United States showing that Russia was [10:13] assisting Iran in targeting US bases in [10:15] the Middle East. That's the key. His [10:17] allegation also directly challenges [10:18] President Trump's recent assertion that [10:20] he believed assurances from Russian [10:22] President Vladimir Putin that Moscow was [10:24] not assisting to Iran. Earlier Saturday, [10:27] Zelenskyy and Ukrainian forces Zelenskyy [10:29] said Ukrainian forces had achieved very [10:32] strong results with the attacks in the [10:34] Caspian Sea. [10:36] He said the targets included a Russian [10:37] warship [10:39] and vessels used to transport military [10:41] cargo involving Iran, but did not [10:43] identify the ships, describe the weapons [10:45] used, or disclose the extent of the [10:47] damage. [10:49] Okay, now let's [10:51] let's go a little a little deeper here. [10:52] Taken together, [10:54] the Caspian strikes and the intelligence [10:57] offer [10:58] and the intelligence offer suggests that [11:00] Ukraine is treating the Russia-Iran [11:02] partnership as a single military network [11:05] operating across two wars. Bam. [11:09] That's That's what the [11:11] uh envoy [11:13] uh the Israel envoy Korniychuk said, [11:16] "Israel and Ukraine are fighting the [11:18] same enemy. [11:19] Different sides of the same evil axis." [11:23] Iranian-designed Shahed drones have [11:25] played a major role in Russia's attacks [11:27] on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. [11:29] Kiev is now alleging that assistance [11:31] also flows in the opposite direction [11:33] with Moscow using its satellite [11:35] capabilities to support Iranian attacks [11:37] on the US and regional military [11:38] facilities. In other words, they are [11:40] working in coordination. [11:42] Iran and Russia on both sides. [11:45] Reuters reported on July 22nd that [11:48] Iranian drone attacks on CIA facilities [11:51] in the Persian Gulf [11:53] have prompted US intelligence analysts [11:55] to investigate whether Russia assisted [11:57] by providing targeting information or [12:00] advanced drone technology. That that [12:01] means that the CIA Reuters said that the [12:03] CIA is looking into this. And meanwhile [12:06] you have Trump saying, "Oh, I'm [12:07] confident that you Putin told me they're [12:09] not helping." Which leads me to believe [12:10] that Trump is saying that for public [12:12] relations reasons. [12:14] He wants to, you know, keep things, [12:17] you know, he he wants to keep Putin [12:20] on a leash [12:21] and, you know, and and he feels that the [12:24] way to do it is to kind of like, you [12:25] know, downplay this. But I'm sure he's [12:27] paying close attention. The report [12:30] citing informed sources said US [12:31] intelligence officials have not yet [12:33] reached the [12:34] reached firm conclusions about the [12:35] possible Russian involvement in the [12:37] attacks on CIA facilities, but they [12:39] cited the strikes' effectiveness and [12:42] apparent precision, as well as Russia's [12:45] broader technical support of Iran as [12:47] possible evidence. [12:48] Ukraine has previously offered its drone [12:50] interception expertise to Middle Eastern [12:52] countries facing Iranian attacks, [12:54] drawing on years of experience defending [12:56] against Shahed-type drones. The Shahed [12:59] is an Iranian drone. Shahed-type drones [13:01] used by Russia. Kyiv has also [13:03] increasingly targeted the Caspian Sea as [13:06] a military logistics corridor despite [13:08] its distance from the principal [13:10] battlefields of Ukraine. In August 2025, [13:13] so a year ago, Ukraine said it struck [13:16] the Russian-flagged cargo vessel Port [13:19] Olya 4 at the port of Olya in Russia's [13:23] Astrakhan region. [13:24] Kyiv alleged that it was carrying [13:26] Iranian ammunition and components for [13:28] Shahed type drones. Four months later, [13:31] Ukrainian official Ukrainian special [13:33] forces said they attacked the Compositor [13:37] Rachmaninoff and Avskar Sarja Saridja of [13:40] Russia's Kalmykia region. [13:44] Ukraine said the sanctioned vessels had [13:46] transported weapons and military [13:47] equipment between Iran and Russia. [13:50] Iran has denied supplying weapons for [13:52] use in Ukraine while acknowledging that [13:53] it provided Russia with a limited number [13:55] of drones before Moscow's 22 2022 [13:58] invasion. That's nonsense. Saturday's [14:00] develop developments, however, point to [14:02] a broader confrontation. Ukraine is not [14:04] only seeking to disrupt Iranian [14:06] assistance to Russia, but is offering to [14:08] help Washington and its regional [14:10] partners expose and potentially counter [14:12] Russian support for Tehran's war effort. [14:17] You know, here's what I'm thinking as I [14:19] read this. We're going to do one more [14:20] article before we get to it. [14:23] You know, this whole issue with selling [14:24] F-35s to the Turks. [14:26] Right? And I made I made a couple videos [14:28] about that. If you've been following the [14:29] channel, I think a few weeks ago I made [14:31] one. [14:32] And the whole issue the whole reason why [14:35] it's controversial to sell F-35s to the [14:37] Turks and the reason that they [14:39] originally the Turks were in the F-35 [14:41] program and they were removed from it [14:43] and there's actually a law it's in it's [14:45] a legislation it's an actual law that [14:48] passed in America that the Turks cannot [14:49] have them [14:50] until they get rid of their Russian [14:53] radar systems. You see, the Russian [14:55] radar systems the S-400 that the Turks [14:57] have [14:58] could learn [15:00] the stealth signature of the F-35s if [15:03] they're operated together. [15:05] So, one country having both could [15:08] provide [15:09] uh [15:10] intelligence intelligence information [15:12] that would compromise US security [15:14] compromise the effectiveness of the [15:16] F-35s and compromise them. [15:18] Um [15:20] and that's why it's such a danger. [15:22] I'm really sorry about the honking [15:23] horns. Not a lot I can do about it. I'm [15:24] not going to redo this video. Sorry [15:26] about that. Look at this article in the [15:29] This is in The Guardian [15:31] from from Friday. How Chinese tech and [15:34] Russian tactics are aiding Iran's [15:35] bombing of US bases. [15:38] As the crisis in the Middle East [15:39] escalates, Iran has been bombing US [15:41] bases and critical infrastructure in the [15:43] Gulf with increasing accuracy, helped by [15:46] Chinese satellite imagery and tactics [15:48] learned by Russia in Ukraine. Three US [15:50] soldiers were killed last Friday in an [15:52] attack on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in [15:54] Jordan, which was being protected by a [15:56] THAAD air defense system. Satellite [15:59] imagery later released by the Iranian [16:01] media showed several buildings had been [16:02] destroyed. It was not clear why the air [16:05] defense system failed in that incident, [16:07] which is under Pentagon investigation, [16:09] but it's a reminder that Iran retains an [16:11] effective missile capability that its [16:13] new leadership is willing to deploy. [16:15] Andreas Krieg, an associate professor at [16:17] the School of Security Studies, King's [16:19] College London, said a combination of [16:22] better intelligence, missile navigation, [16:24] maneuverability, and coordinated attack [16:27] planning amounted to a real [16:28] transformation. It was the product, [16:30] Krieg said, of 3 years of technological [16:32] development of Iran's ballistic missile [16:34] program, which remained roughly 70% [16:37] intact on US intelligence estimates [16:39] despite previous claims from Washington [16:41] that Tehran's military capabilities had [16:43] been obliterated. The first step was to [16:45] use Chinese satellite imagery to help [16:48] identify targets at US bases and other [16:51] sites in the Gulf. The US imposed [16:52] sanctions on three Chinese companies in [16:55] May for providing such images. That [16:57] didn't make the headlines. [17:00] May, this past May, the United States [17:02] imposed sanctions on three Chinese [17:04] companies for providing satellite images [17:06] to the Iranians. [17:09] And yet Trump gets up and says, "Oh, [17:11] yeah, you know, the Chinese aren't [17:12] helping the Iranians." [17:15] One, one of those companies, Misar [17:17] Vision, exposed the presence of US [17:18] military aircraft and Patriot and Zad [17:20] air defense systems at the bases in [17:22] Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the Jordanian [17:24] base hit last week. And imagery released [17:27] on social media was widely picked up. A [17:30] string of accurate Iranian attacks on [17:32] CIA facilities across the Gulf during [17:34] the bombings made US analysts wonder [17:37] whether Russia had shared locations with [17:40] Tehran, but the hypothesis is tentative. [17:43] US Defense Secretary Pete Hoekstra told [17:46] Congress this week that China and Russia [17:48] were helping Iran to some extent, but [17:51] Donald Trump contradicted him on Friday [17:54] saying Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin had [17:56] personally assured him that they would [17:57] not sell weapons to Iran. Again, this is [17:59] a messaging issue. It's not Trump being [18:01] naive. Got to think uh [18:03] >> [snorts] [18:03] >> You got to get into Trump's head here. [18:05] He He doesn't want this to be public. [18:07] That's why he walked it back. Iran's [18:09] ballistic missile program Iran's [18:11] ballistic program relies heavily on [18:12] Chinese electronics and ammonium per- um [18:16] a perchlorate for rocket fuel, but the [18:18] finished weapons are considered [18:20] sophisticated enough to be able to [18:21] occasionally defeat stretched US and [18:24] Gulf air defenses. Iranian missiles [18:27] boast complex navigation using GPS, [18:30] China's BeiDou, and Russia's GLONASS [18:33] simultaneously [18:35] as they launch toward targets. And [18:37] re-entry speeds, which are several times [18:39] the speed of sound, always make [18:41] anti-ballistic defense a challenge. [18:43] Tehran has also developed steerable [18:45] warheads that can adjust their course [18:47] during descent on some of its ballistic [18:49] missiles, Krieg said. Heat-seeking and [18:51] op- and optical navigation for the [18:53] terminal phase means they're not [18:55] vulnerable to electronic jamming because [18:57] they're not using radio communication. [18:59] All this is enough to present a serious [19:01] challenge for US air defenses at a time [19:04] when stockpiles of Patriot and Zad [19:05] interceptors have been run down by about [19:08] half after the 38 day US-Israel bombing [19:12] campaign in the spring at in sites, oil [19:15] refineries, desalination plants and [19:17] there's a large area to cover. [19:19] Iran has also evolved tactically in its [19:21] missile attacks using methods similar to [19:23] Russia and Ukraine where smaller salvos [19:26] can be more effective than larger ones [19:28] and drones are used to distract air [19:29] defenses making way for ballistic [19:31] attack. [19:33] Kouchak said that he believed it was a [19:34] case of two countries military's [19:36] learning from each other's experience, a [19:38] convergent evolution rather than it [19:40] necessarily being the result of Moscow [19:42] directly teaching [19:44] uh [19:45] Tehran. All right. So, what do we have [19:48] from all this? Well, what we have is [19:51] that it appears [19:53] that what we've suspected all along, [19:55] that Russia and China and Iran are [19:57] cooperating in this war is actually [19:59] happening and it's coming to a fore, [20:01] it's becoming an issue in the war. These [20:03] American casualties, uh it appears are [20:05] the result of the Chinese and the [20:08] Russians helping the Iranians be more [20:09] precise [20:11] in their um in their strikes. [20:13] And now you have Ukraine coming in uh on [20:16] the side of United States {slash} Israel [20:20] attacking the supply chain of uh of [20:23] military equipment between Iran and [20:25] Russia that is apparently still up and [20:27] running. [20:28] So, uh yeah, this is quite a [20:30] development. It seems that the that the [20:32] the Russia-Ukraine war [20:35] and the and the war with Iran [20:37] uh you know, to use the to use the terms [20:40] of the um [20:41] of the uh Ukrainian envoy to Israel, [20:44] we're fighting the same enemy. It's [20:45] really one big war. One war as Zelenskyy [20:47] put it, it's one war on multiple fronts. [20:50] And I think that's an accurate way to [20:51] view it. [20:52] So, we'll be watching this closely and [20:54] I'll be sure to bring you updates as [20:56] they come. Thanks for watching. Please [20:58] share, please like, subscribe.
