Transcript [00:00] Is Iran winning? [00:02] Is Israel failing in Gaza and in [00:05] Lebanon? These are some of the uh [00:08] challenging issues that are facing [00:10] Israelis that are facing Jews worldwide. [00:12] Oh yeah, there's another one. Are Jews [00:13] being attacked worldwide for Israeli [00:15] policies? Is Israel doing a good job [00:17] explaining its policies? There's some [00:19] serious issues facing the Jewish world. [00:21] I was just in Cyprus and I was speaking [00:24] with British Jews. I was speaking with [00:26] French Jews. They're all feeling the [00:27] heat. Things are not easy for the Jewish [00:30] people on the one hand. On the other [00:32] hand, walking down the streets in [00:33] Jerusalem, energy, life, vivaciousness. [00:37] You could feel that Jerusalem is being [00:38] built and that people feel that they [00:41] they have an identity inside that [00:43] something great is happening now. Which [00:44] one is it? Is Israel on the right path, [00:46] on the wrong path? Uh are Israel's [00:48] enemies outsmarting it? Have they beaten [00:51] us in a long game at the universities [00:53] and in the media with Qatari funding, [00:55] with Iranian funding, Russians, Chinese? [00:58] Got so many serious enemies. And also, [00:59] what about President Trump? Is he doing [01:01] it? Is he keeping the world on even keel [01:04] or is his style uh which seems to sway [01:07] back and forth and is kind of not [01:09] running the course that the Middle East [01:11] demands uh is it causing failure uh or [01:15] is it a winning strategy to make that [01:17] deal? I'm today sitting with one of the [01:20] most interesting, one of the more [01:21] cleareyed people that the Jewish people [01:22] have and that's Dr. Dan Dyker. Today [01:25] he's president and fellow of the [01:26] Jerusalem Center for Security and [01:29] Foreign Affairs. Dr. Dan, [01:32] >> Dr. Ishai, Rabbi Isai, Rabbi Dr. Ishai. [01:34] >> That's right. Great to be with you. When [01:37] I see what's going on in Gaza, when I [01:38] see the board of peace, I think to [01:41] myself, these guys are bored of peace. [01:43] Okay. because they are not having a plan [01:45] that's going to uh make that place calm [01:49] and normal and and and subdue the jihad. [01:51] Not at all. They're kind of goating the [01:53] jihad, letting it keep going, letting it [01:55] rearm. Tell me, are we doing it in Gaza [01:57] right or not? [01:58] >> Well, first of all, Isha, it's great to [02:01] be sitting with you on your podcast, [02:03] which is one of the most, you know, [02:05] bottom line, right to the point, uh, you [02:09] know, front burner podcasts out there. [02:11] So, it's really important. um to that [02:14] the world hears these uh these [02:16] conversations. I remember the prime [02:17] minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "Can [02:20] you take the heat? You got to be able to [02:22] take the heat." And that's what you said [02:23] in your opening because there is so much [02:24] heat around that is directed at Israel's [02:28] existence uh that that people not only [02:32] are directing heat and trying to boil [02:36] Israel to death, but they're really [02:38] trying to burn uh incinerate literally [02:41] incinerate the whole Zionist project, [02:43] the nation state of the Jewish people. [02:45] And and even though it's a terrible, [02:47] terrible image to conjure up, you know, [02:49] we are in an existential fight right now [02:52] where the state of Israel is really very [02:55] much on the front burner. And we've got [02:57] to understand that in terms of taking [02:59] the heat, it's Israel, the nation state, [03:01] the the the one and only nation state of [03:04] the Jewish people that, you know, that [03:06] has its uh firefighters [03:09] suit on and is championing that fight [03:12] against those that are really trying to [03:14] annihilate and in actually incinerate [03:16] the whole Zionist project and by [03:18] extension the Jewish people. It's that [03:20] serious a fight. Now if we go uh to the [03:24] Gaza arena for example because you know [03:27] the the tendency in the world is to use [03:31] the word peace as a type of salve as a [03:35] type of advil PM if you will to try to [03:38] put everyone to sleep and to say anybody [03:41] that doesn't subscribe to pe what does [03:43] that mean peace in the Middle East there [03:45] is there's no such concept in Islam of [03:47] peace it doesn't exist there's victory [03:50] there's shahad or sacrifice. There is [03:53] nothing in between. So we are, you know, [03:56] a westernstyle country with a majority [03:59] population that comes from Arab lands [04:02] that that had Arabic as a as a as a [04:05] mother tongue at home. So we're very [04:08] much you know we are an indigenous [04:11] country a middle eastern country with [04:13] very much uh uh western also western DNA [04:17] because of of the extraordinary mix of [04:20] people in this country. So when we come [04:21] to Gaza and and President Trump's [04:25] original plan the original 20point plan [04:28] was a stroke of genius. It was called [04:31] the Gaza Riviera plan. This was a stroke [04:34] of genius which was the original idea [04:37] Ishi which Israel signed up for the [04:40] United States suggested and drove was [04:43] actually to help the the vast majority [04:46] of Gazins relocate to other Sunni Arab [04:51] countries with money with a promise of [04:55] uh of uh employment and housing until [04:58] such time that the Gaza Strip could be [05:01] rebuilt and then repopulated and it [05:04] could be repopulated and vetted with [05:06] people that include Jews that can go [05:08] back to their homes in in Gaza where [05:10] they lived for three and a half [05:11] generations in the modern period. And it [05:14] can be Arabs, it could be others, but it [05:16] was going to be a completely renewed, [05:19] remodeled, re-energized [05:22] um jihadfree [05:24] uh area that was killed by the Egyptians [05:28] and by and and by the Turks and others. [05:31] And it became very complicated in Gaza [05:33] because it is true that the Qataris who [05:36] are the Muslim Brotherhood um you know [05:38] headquarters and the Turks another [05:40] Muslim Brotherhood kamas headquarters um [05:44] that that these and the Egyptians also [05:46] that have a majority of public that [05:50] support the Muslim Brotherhood even [05:51] though alsi even though the leadership [05:54] and Israel have a strong [05:56] pretty strong defense over the last 40 [05:59] years uh defense relationship [06:02] that that the new Gaza 20oint plan [06:05] became sponsored by these countries that [06:08] did enable us to get a lot of our [06:12] hostages out from Gaza, notwithstanding [06:15] the fact that Israel's enormous military [06:18] pressure also caused that. But they were [06:21] they were part of this Americanled [06:24] effort to get our hostages out. [06:27] >> Yeah. But that getting the hostages out [06:29] was was their script. Taking the [06:32] hostages and then using that as a card [06:34] to get what they want. I mean he'd say [06:36] that was what they wanted [06:38] and the right they wanted hostages and [06:40] then to play for you know giving us back [06:42] the hostages. That was planned from day [06:43] one. Isa the hostage strategy which was [06:47] driven by the Islamic Republic and its [06:50] tentacle in uh Hamas controlled Gaza [06:55] worked to a certain degree. Uh they uh [06:59] you know it brought the Muslim [07:01] Brotherhood Turkish regime inside [07:04] befriended they gave a bear hug to [07:06] Trump. Trump actually [07:09] accepted the the bear hug [07:11] >> right [07:11] >> uh the Qatar is the same. They're [07:13] working with the United States. They [07:14] gave them a $500 million plane. [07:17] >> What was that about six? When does a [07:20] president of the United States receive a [07:22] a gift of that magnitude from a state [07:24] that has been working for years to [07:26] undermine it? I mean it was just like [07:28] one of these moments you're like [07:30] >> yeah it's a it's a very strange moment [07:32] and and you know in in my view ill [07:34] advised it ill advised to take it from [07:36] any country because then there's this [07:38] sort of you know there there is a a [07:41] sense of uh I owe you something uh and [07:44] um I I can't who can get into the mind [07:47] of the president and those around him [07:49] who accepted you know accepted that uh [07:53] accepted that gift. So, [07:54] >> but what about the mind of the brilliant [07:57] Qataris? I know that a lot of the work [07:58] that you do uh here at uh at the [08:02] Jerusalem Center for Security and [08:04] Foreign Affairs is to also understand [08:05] Qatar. [08:06] >> It it is it's to understand the eighth [08:08] front Qatar, Turkey, the Iranian regime, [08:12] China, and even Russia. They are the [08:15] champions of Oh, sorry. That's a lot of [08:18] folks. It is a lot of big folks. [08:20] >> The ETH front is a big front. What is [08:22] the eighth front? The eighth front is [08:24] >> eighth front [08:26] >> an eight front war for God's sake. [08:27] >> It is you mean seven, you know, seven [08:29] fronts between Gaza, Judean, Samaria, uh [08:34] uh Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, um [08:40] Iran itself, you know, and then and [08:43] you've got the Houthis in Yemen. These [08:45] are all Iranian regime, Islamic Republic [08:48] affiliates that are instructed. [08:50] >> What a moment we have, huh? [08:51] >> It's a great moment. And what is the [08:52] eighth front? The eighth front goes [08:54] beyond the military terror battlefield, [08:56] the economic battlefield, the media, the [09:00] legacy media battlefield, the social uh [09:03] social network battlefield, the [09:05] battlefield, the the so-called [09:07] diplomatic battlefield. Now, diplomacy [09:09] in the diplomacy in the DNA of all these [09:14] countries that I just mentioned is an [09:15] act of war. It's not an act of peace. [09:17] For for the West, you know, we say let [09:19] bygones be bygones. We use the word [09:21] peace. We use the word diplomacy. And [09:24] that means I understand you. Perhaps you [09:27] understand me. We talk things out. We [09:28] let bygones be bygones and we move on. [09:31] Not at all in the Middle East. And [09:32] absolutely not at all with the Islamic [09:34] Republic. Diplomacy is an act of war. It [09:37] is not a pathway to peace. And it seems [09:40] in many cases that the West led by the [09:42] United States is missing this memo. Uh [09:46] >> and Europe we have that that that has [09:47] basically succumbed to this kind of [09:49] thinking. Um, it it turns out that [09:52] liberalism is a gate and you can you can [09:55] disagree with me, but my my assertion is [09:57] that liberalism is a gateway to [09:59] progressivism and progressivism is a [10:02] gateway to uh jihadism. I I have a new [10:05] term that I've come up with that America [10:07] has uh red states, blue states, but also [10:10] green states, green states, green and [10:12] jihad states. Uh, and that's a new kind [10:14] of [10:14] >> Michigan Michigan state and Vermont. New [10:17] York, New York is uh New York is really [10:21] uh in an extraordinary [10:23] uh extraordinarily delicate place where [10:26] the center of global business, the [10:29] center of American enlightened [10:32] capitalism, the center of American and [10:34] global media is now managed by a pro- [10:39] Hamas communist who is an Islamist, a [10:43] Muslim who came from Uganda, who's been [10:45] an American citizen for barely 7 years [10:48] whose wife is even more extreme than he [10:50] that comes from Syria. Uh this is an [10:53] absolutely extraordinary development [10:55] particularly in a city that hosts the [10:57] greatest Jewish population outside the [11:00] state of Israel. And it it just seems a [11:02] telltale sign of where America can be [11:06] headed uh if it if it is not uh is not [11:09] careful. Now you make these comments in [11:11] certain circles. They accuse you of [11:13] being Islamophobic. [11:14] >> Well, that's part of it, isn't it? [11:15] >> That's that's an act of war, right? [11:16] Right? There's no way that you can level [11:18] any kind of criticism on Islamic moves. [11:22] And if you go to Dearbornne, Michigan, [11:23] Arabic and Islam is the uh first [11:26] language and the first culture. [11:28] >> I just saw a video of the governor of [11:31] Texas trying to fight back against feet [11:35] washing stations in his airport. [11:37] >> That's right. or I what I suggested [11:39] frankly on X which I think actually you [11:40] reposted was that if you're going to [11:42] have feet washing state stations um in [11:46] Dallas Fort Worth airport you should [11:48] have Christian baptism areas and you [11:50] should have Jewish mikvah at the same [11:52] time. So otherwise, you know, otherwise [11:55] you go to the restroom and you have [11:57] people and I've seen this in Bahrain, [11:58] having been to Bahrain and other um [12:01] Muslim Muslim majority states where [12:03] you'll be in in a bathroom and people [12:05] will have their feet uh next to you in [12:07] uh in sinks. Can we give a some kind of [12:10] like respect, some kind of award to [12:14] the long game that is being played by [12:16] our enemies? I remember I was in college [12:19] 25 years ago. [12:21] We were talking about the problem of [12:24] Islamic ideology being taught and the [12:26] campus being taken over by progressivism [12:29] and jihadism at the same time. We were [12:31] talking about it back then. What [12:32] happened to the Jewish organizations? [12:34] Were we asleep at the wheel? What [12:35] happened to conservatives of America? [12:36] Were we blinded? It's like we saw it [12:40] coming and it came like a giant glacier [12:44] moving slowly and yet breaking mountains [12:47] in its way. And it's like it's I I I I I [12:50] it's very hard in the Jewish world to [12:52] say this, but I think that we should at [12:53] least recognize that we've been [12:56] outplayed. We've been we've been [12:57] outclassed to some extent. Is that is [12:59] that is that fair or not fair? [13:01] >> Well, when you say outplay and outclass, [13:03] you mean to say that under our very [13:06] noses um the political Islam as the [13:10] Muslim Brotherhood calls it, which is [13:12] there are two strategies. One is [13:13] militant Islam, the other is political [13:15] Islam. And political Islam according to [13:19] you know the uh the doctrine of Hassan [13:21] Albanov the founder in 1928 the founder [13:24] of the Muslim Brotherhood basically was [13:27] uh to um infiltrate uh dem you know [13:31] societies and uh embed Islam from the [13:35] bottom up from the bottom up [13:37] >> with a very long game [13:38] >> with a very long game now America [13:40] doesn't see it for a couple of reasons [13:42] one the first amendment to the [13:44] constitution that sanctifies freedom of [13:47] speech and and and in the American [13:49] Constitution, freedom of expression, [13:51] freedom of assembly. The freedoms to [13:53] express yourself freely is so [13:56] sacrosanked in the United States that [13:58] people can't imagine that there is an [14:00] ideology that would penetrate uh the [14:04] United States and use its freedoms in [14:06] order to subvert its very existence. [14:09] It's just it's just an idea that is an [14:11] anathema. It's a it's completely uh [14:14] counterintuitive to the to to the [14:17] constitution to the American way of life [14:19] to the and to the American sense of [14:21] liberty and [14:22] >> okay but but even but even Lincoln knew [14:24] to suspend habius corpus during during a [14:27] war right like sometimes when you are [14:28] when you're being attacked you have to [14:30] realize that those very institutions are [14:33] your Achilles heel right you're being [14:35] they're being that what you just [14:37] described that sacrosan sense of freedom [14:39] of speech is itself also a weakness ness [14:42] when dealing with such a long range [14:44] enemy, a long-range thinking enemy. [14:47] >> Well, so here's the proof text of what [14:48] you're saying. 1993 and 2001, 9/11 2001 [14:54] and uh and the the first um Islamic [14:58] terror attacks by the blind she back in [15:00] 1993, both targeting the World Trade [15:02] Center and ultimately toppling the [15:05] world's uh most important uh center for [15:09] international business. And what [15:11] happened after 9/11? We're 25 years [15:13] almost to the day almost to the day [15:16] after 9/11. And what has America learned [15:19] about uh about um the Islamists that [15:22] took down um the World Trade Center and [15:25] about the ideology [15:26] >> governors and the and the mayors [15:27] >> there? I mean, could you imagine that [15:29] New York City would have an Islamist [15:31] mayor? [15:32] >> I you know what? I actually actually did [15:34] not put the September 11th and Manny on [15:38] the same plane, but that's [15:39] >> Here we are. So, so then it's it's a [15:42] major challenge for America to save [15:44] itself. And and I think we at the [15:46] Jerusalem Center for Security and [15:47] Foreign Affairs that that are [15:49] championing uh this mission which is to [15:53] expose the the radical ideology and [15:57] players of the Middle East while [15:58] embracing more amenal players and then [16:01] anchoring our relationship in the West [16:03] to try to mediate between the two in [16:05] order to strengthen Israel, to [16:07] strengthen Judeo-Christian civilization [16:09] in order to also to help the West save [16:11] itself by getting this critically [16:13] important information is critical. and [16:14] what we see in Gaza just going back is [16:16] exactly a microcosm example of what [16:19] we're talking about at 50,000 ft here. [16:22] Well, the question is, and here's where [16:25] where I'm going to play a little hard [16:26] ball with you, which is um we've been [16:29] talking so far about American policy, [16:32] but I would have thought I would I would [16:35] have liked to see that after September [16:37] 11th, we would not pussyoot around and [16:41] and play softball, but rather would have [16:44] gone Middle East style or even Putin [16:48] style, laavd, [16:50] and taken over that Gaza and helped uh [16:54] uh immigration happen uh to [16:57] non-combatants [16:59] uh get find them refugee status and [17:01] really take control of this thing and [17:03] instead what we have right now is [17:05] nothing but a in Russia we would call it [17:08] a kasha you know like just a it's just a [17:10] a mushy soup of policy and the the damn [17:15] kamas is still there and with Turkey and [17:18] Qatar all kinds of bad players And [17:22] Israel never targeted at Qatar. I mean, [17:24] for a second it did attack Kamas and [17:26] Qatar, but you know, and then was was [17:27] was uh, you know, was the finger was [17:30] wagged at Israel. But like, bottom line [17:31] is strategically speaking, we didn't [17:34] really clear out the bad guys and we [17:37] didn't like go heavy and we didn't use [17:39] it as a big wakeup moment. When I read [17:41] the the newspapers today about what's [17:43] going on in Gaza and and soldiers [17:45] complaining that they are being very [17:47] limited from attacking Hamas, which is [17:50] constantly testing the the the line and [17:52] the borders, and they're still there and [17:53] they're still armed and they're still [17:54] controlling people and they're still [17:55] killing Arabs, pro-Israel, decent Arabs [17:58] who don't want kamas rule. You see all [18:00] that and then you saw what happened in [18:02] Iran with the Iranian regime. Uh I wrote [18:05] read in some article they're like well [18:07] it turns out that I was reading foreign [18:09] affairs and they said well it turns out [18:10] that there's no big protest against the [18:12] Iranian regime. I was like what there [18:15] was a protest they just killed 50,000 [18:16] people in one one or two days. So it's [18:19] as though we're talking about America. [18:20] What about Israeli policy? Where are we [18:22] at here? You know where we how are we [18:24] leading this charge? And sometimes I say [18:27] I see that we're not quite leading it [18:28] properly. We're not [18:30] >> we didn't go all the way after the 7th [18:32] of October. Is that a fair critique, you [18:33] think, or not? [18:34] >> The 7th of October was, you know, [18:37] arguably the greatest catastrophe that [18:39] Israel experienced since its founding in [18:42] in in 1948 because it was really the [18:45] first time that there was literally a [18:48] strategic dash existential threat to the [18:51] Israeli homeront. Um and it was um a [18:55] failure of what had been the sacrosan uh [18:59] uh defense and national security concept [19:01] of Israel. The national security concept [19:04] of Israel collapsed on October the 7th. [19:08] And that um and that concept that had [19:11] been developed by Bengurion, our first [19:13] prime minister uh in the years just [19:15] after 1948 was based on early warning, [19:19] deterrence, [19:20] >> intelligence. [19:21] >> Uh yes, for sure. I mean early warning [19:25] based on intelligence, deterrence, both [19:27] offensive and defensive. Um and uh [19:30] what's called decisive victory, which is [19:33] always charging towards the enemy to [19:35] before the enemy can charge you. and [19:37] then and what we call passive defense. [19:39] After October 7th, there is an [19:41] additional leg and the additional leg or [19:44] the additional component to Israel's [19:46] national security concept is called [19:48] prevention. Which is why you see Israel [19:51] today in in in late August 2026 with a [19:56] far more aggressive approach towards its [20:00] enemies um to prevent them from even [20:03] beginning to move uh to attack Israel. [20:06] So you see Israel being very very [20:08] forceful against Hzbollah uh the Iranian [20:11] regime backed Isbellah in Lebanon. We're [20:13] continuing to kill every single uh Hamas [20:17] Nbaha terrorist and others that were [20:19] involved in the massacre kidnapping on [20:22] October 7th from Gaza from Hamas and you [20:25] even see us uh we're doing a lot of [20:28] covert operations and other and killing [20:30] other people that should enemies that [20:32] that should be killed. This is called [20:34] prevention which was not part of our [20:36] original national security concept. So [20:38] I'm why am I telling you this and and [20:40] our wonderful viewers that are [20:42] participating with us here in in this [20:44] discussion is that Israel after October [20:48] 7th is a different Israel than it was [20:50] before October 7th. We one does have to [20:53] give credit where credit is due and that [20:54] is um Prime Minister Netanyao and the [20:58] government have in the last three uh [21:00] since October of 2023 which is 3 years [21:03] now um almost have completely changed [21:07] the dynamic in the Middle East. We are [21:09] considered uh the strong horse in the [21:11] Middle East. We are considered um the [21:15] Jews that you know they say that the [21:18] Jews the owner of the house has gone [21:20] crazy which is a very good thing in the [21:21] Middle East [21:23] >> crazy Eddie right the the crazy Eddie [21:25] 12:00 in the morning 12:00 midnight uh [21:29] one day sale uh crazy Eddie and it's [21:31] true crazy Israel right this is very [21:34] this [21:34] >> and that's a good thing [21:35] >> it's a very good thing in the Middle [21:36] East it's unknown in American culture [21:39] that you you go crazy uh and this is [21:41] exactly why After 911 you said the word [21:43] in Russia is called kasha which is like [21:46] supi the word in the talmud kasha means [21:48] questioning right there's a really hard [21:50] question and it's true because I just to [21:53] move from Israel to America for a second [21:54] after 9/11 America started to ask itself [21:57] all kinds of questions right how how is [22:00] it that we're separated by an ocean and [22:01] they and and and they and they get two [22:03] 7747 [22:05] 787s and crash them into it just it [22:07] crashed them into and uh uh in these [22:11] planes and incinerate these these two [22:13] towers, killing nearly 4,000 people [22:15] between between New York and the [22:17] Department of Defense in uh DC and it [22:21] create and and you know is America went [22:24] attacked Afghanistan. That was [22:25] lowhanging fruit. Did not get um Osama [22:28] bin Laden for a number of years. [22:29] >> By the way, that was a 20-year war which [22:31] cost about a trillion dollars. [22:32] >> That's is a 20-year war. You you [22:35] >> America's longest war. [22:36] >> America's longest war. 20-year war. Uh [22:39] as this is Israel's longest war, right? [22:41] So the question is uh Afghanistan almost [22:44] 20 years 18 to 20 years. Iraq we lost [22:47] thousands of uh several several thousand [22:50] service men and women and America does [22:53] not have the appetite for long wars, [22:56] right? [22:57] >> Because America separated by oceans both [23:00] on the Atlantic and the Pacific side uh [23:03] says why are we fighting foreign wars [23:05] when in fact the war in Iraq was an [23:08] Iranian regime war. the the the major [23:11] attacks within Iraq were from Iranian [23:14] regime weaponry and Iranian regime [23:19] affiliated terrorists. That was the and [23:21] this was actually Dr. Dave Worms of [23:23] formerly of the Pentagon, former senior [23:26] adviser to Vice President Cheney told [23:29] said this to me in a recent [23:31] conversation. Let's remember that was [23:33] the first Iranian regime war against [23:35] America out of Iraq and that's where [23:38] they are today also hiding nuclear [23:40] material in Iraq in start and so I'm [23:43] trying to make the point here that [23:45] America has been facing um Iranian [23:49] Islamic Republic um terror octopus [23:53] tentacles throughout the Middle East but [23:55] it thinks that they're foreign wars. [23:57] That is a disconnect and that disconnect [23:59] has to be uh made up. It has to be [24:03] corrected by making the case for the war [24:06] against Iran in the Iranian regime that [24:08] tried to assassinate President Trump. [24:10] The Iranian regime that has killed [24:12] hundreds if not several thousand [24:13] American service men and women. U this [24:17] the Iranian regime that has has uh you [24:20] know basically targeted American vital [24:23] interests across the across the uh [24:25] across the Middle East. The Iranian [24:27] regime that basically has set up a whole [24:29] base throughout Latin America out [24:31] America's back door. That's why it [24:33] kidnapped Maduro. Why did they take [24:35] capture Maduro? Maduro was not only a [24:38] narotist. [24:40] Maduro the former leader of Venezuela. [24:43] He was the officer or the commander of [24:46] the Iranian regime's Latin American [24:49] headquarters. They were manufacturing [24:52] Iranian regime drones in Venezuela. That [24:55] how far is that from America's back [24:57] door? It's right outside. But that case [24:59] wasn't made to the American people. And [25:01] this is the this is the essential [25:04] difference between Israel's resilience [25:08] and America's [25:09] kasha. America's questioning about why [25:13] there in the midst of this international [25:15] terror war that has been going on um in [25:18] a very pronounced way since two for 25 [25:21] years. But far beyond that, we remember [25:23] in the 1980s the Islamic jihad um uh [25:27] that uh that were targeting American [25:29] leaders during the Iran Contra the Iran [25:32] Contra um period. So, Israel doesn't [25:35] need to make the case because Israel's [25:37] sons and daughters are living the case [25:39] every single day when you know your your [25:42] your children and my children are now in [25:44] Lebanon, now in Gaza. We're defending [25:46] the home front sevenfront war that [25:49] continues um to attack Israel. And [25:52] they're attacking Israel because they [25:55] hate America, [25:56] >> right? [25:57] >> That not the other way around. And this [25:58] is the case. This is the They say it [26:00] themselves. If we're the little Satan [26:02] and America is the big Satan in the [26:04] words to quote Ali Kame and his uh [26:08] predecessor Grand Ayatollah [26:12] the Israel is seen as the 51st state in [26:15] the Middle East. That is very important [26:17] to to clarify. So we're we're protecting [26:20] our homeront and we have got to do a [26:23] better job. This is JCFA's one of our [26:25] our missions is to make the case to um [26:29] to the American people as well as to the [26:31] west that this war is really a war to [26:35] uproot and subvert Judeo-Christian [26:37] civilization, Western civilization as it [26:39] is. I read somewhere though that Qatar [26:44] uh finances 10 lobbyist firms in DC to [26:50] the tune of about $200,000 a month each [26:53] on retainer. [26:55] And when I asked an expert who we both [26:58] know uh how many lobby firms does Israel [27:02] uh retain in Washington, the answer was [27:04] zero. So the war is kinetic. Maduro, you [27:09] just, you know, gave an example of that, [27:12] uh, the Twin Towers. But it's also about [27:15] legitimacy. [27:17] And that legitimacy is eroded when the [27:19] next generation of Americans are taught [27:21] in American schools, when Jews, by the [27:23] way, are no longer [27:25] uh appreciated at places like Harvard [27:29] and where Jewish enrollment has shrunken [27:31] tremendously. Um [27:35] it's a it's it's you know the the case [27:38] they're making they're both fighting the [27:40] fight and making the case at the same [27:42] time and they're making the case for [27:44] peace or for less American involvement [27:47] no boots in the ground that kind of [27:49] language you know this is not they are [27:52] my mom always likes to point out that [27:54] the [27:54] >> when you say the word they the pronoun [27:55] they you're referring to [27:57] >> I was referring to Qatar yeah the v the [28:00] jihad and its various [28:02] its various constellations. It could be [28:03] Turkish. It could be and it could be [28:05] also forces like China which are non- [28:07] jihadist [28:09] and they're not anti-Israel inside but [28:12] they want to break up the USIsrael [28:14] alliance because they see that as [28:16] something that strengthens the US. So [28:18] there's a lot of forces out against this [28:20] right now. There's a lot of forces. [28:21] >> There is. And the the reason that it [28:24] raises a lot of questions and frightens [28:27] u Jews in the west, particularly [28:29] American Jews, is that a the our enemies [28:33] and adversaries very in a very [28:35] sophisticated move have targeted the [28:38] Jewish state and called it criticism of [28:40] Israeli policy. [28:42] >> Right? So that so what they're doing is [28:46] um extending the attack against Israel [28:49] which then has an an a uh extended [28:52] effect against Jews. So it's in a way [28:55] pitting Jews in the diaspora against the [28:58] one and only Jewish state because they [28:59] say we're paying the price [29:01] >> for Israel's actions. our own Jewish [29:03] brothers and sisters are painting Israel [29:05] as a kind of heartless uh occupier uh [29:08] who [29:09] >> some some not all [29:10] >> some well let's call it the 60% that [29:13] voted Mandani in New York City the [29:15] >> 33% [29:16] >> 33% [29:17] >> 33% which was enough which was enough [29:20] because the the voter turnout was very [29:22] very low like 15% and the Muslim [29:25] population in New York which [29:26] approximately a million people voted in [29:29] voted overwhelmingly to for Bumdani so [29:32] You see even even the even the tools of [29:34] democracy itself voting the basic tools [29:38] that's that's working more towards them [29:41] than towards us. our people are [29:43] lethargic uh are apathetic confused [29:47] don't know the [29:48] >> but this is up to Israel I think to help [29:50] uh our brothers and sisters in the [29:53] diaspora by reaching out and making the [29:56] case and explaining the perspective the [29:59] context and the facts because there's so [30:01] much confusion out there and I'll tell [30:03] you if I were a diaspora Jew you know [30:05] you're you're under tremendous pressure [30:07] all the time you're under physical [30:09] attack you're under harassment [30:12] rhetorical attack all under the fake uh [30:16] moniker of free free Palestine. It's not [30:19] pro Palestine by any means. It's it's [30:21] only destroy Israel that they they have [30:23] used language conditioning that the [30:25] Soviets uh taught us very well during [30:27] the post to World War II period. And [30:30] they've you know they've turned true [30:32] into false and good into evil and evil [30:34] evil into good. They've inverted. [30:36] They've successfully begun to invert or [30:40] more than begun Israel's legitimacy with [30:42] the legitimacy of kamas. And the perfect [30:45] example is Jared Kushner comes and meets [30:48] with Khalil Aliya who was who is a [30:51] terrorist and who is he? [30:53] >> Khalya is one of the leading um members, [30:57] commanders, leaders of Hamas. And uh he [31:01] met with Steve Whit in Cairo. just met [31:03] with uh Jared Kushner uh you know he was [31:07] obviously a major proponent of the [31:09] October 7th massacre kidnapping uh and [31:13] he now is being legitimized by the [31:16] United States who travels from meeting [31:19] with him in Cairo to meeting with [31:21] Natanyao in Israel and that creates a [31:23] moral equivalence that is very very [31:25] problematic and it also empowers the [31:28] kamas in order to tell the United States [31:31] to pressure Israel [31:33] uh because it now be if it now becomes a [31:35] legitimized mainstreamed u you know [31:38] whitewashed in a sense uh diplomatic [31:40] player that's a big big mistake um and [31:43] it's a mistake that Israel made to its [31:45] own detriment at Oslo when we uh when we [31:48] basically uh whitewashed Arafat and [31:51] every time Arafat would cooperate with [31:54] the kamas uh and Palestinian Islamic [31:56] Jihad and the Popular Fund for the [31:58] Liberation of Palestine in executing [32:01] major terror attacks [32:02] uh you know our former prime minister [32:05] Shiman Perez used to say the victims of [32:07] peace. [32:08] >> So it was this total inversion that [32:10] began 30 30 33 years ago and this is a [32:13] really major mistake. We've got to have [32:15] moral clarity. Moral clarity and right [32:19] now the moral clarity is be focused on [32:21] the Iranian regime. There is no deal to [32:24] be made with the Iranian regime. There [32:26] are no moderate members of a apocalyptic [32:31] messianic IRGC, Islamic Revolutionary [32:34] Guard Corps le regime whose mocracy [32:37] meaning was led by the mullas. It is now [32:40] much more weighted towards the IRGC than [32:42] it is what they call what they used to [32:44] call or what they has been called um the [32:48] watal fak which is the rule of the [32:50] jurist of the Islamic juristprudent [32:52] under one man which was hi kami and now [32:56] junior mucha who some people believe is [32:58] not around or he is disabled beyond his [33:01] ability to operate but it is clear that [33:04] that Iran is not being ruled by one man [33:07] uh right now the mullas it's being ruled [33:09] by the sort of the revolutionaries, the [33:12] the [33:13] >> Dan Derer, we've been talking for a [33:14] while now about problems. Let's just [33:17] this show it's its posture is bullish [33:21] and positive about the state of Israel. [33:23] Uh we believe that I believe that [33:26] there's an in gathering. I believe that [33:27] the Jewish state is the greatest project [33:29] of the Jewish people in 2,000 years. Uh [33:31] I believe that we're building Israel and [33:33] it's the most just it's just an a godly [33:36] amazing project. I believe that Israel [33:38] is a light to the world. I believe that [33:39] Jerusalem is the spiritual capital of [33:41] the world. And by the way, if you want [33:42] to support, don't forget to go to [33:44] buildisrael.com buildisrael.com where we [33:46] build Israel together. [33:48] And I was away for for I was in America. [33:51] I was in Canada. I was away for a few [33:53] days and then I came back and then I [33:54] went to Cyprus. So I was away from my [33:56] beloved our beloved country. And the [33:59] other day, yesterday or the day before [34:01] yesterday, I was in the streets of [34:03] Jerusalem. I could not believe the [34:07] energy and vivaciousness of it all. And [34:09] then I walked with Arya King, who's the [34:12] deputy uh mayor of the town. That's [34:15] right. [34:15] >> And he was showing me a new train [34:17] station that was being built to extend [34:19] the train that goes all the way to Tel [34:20] Aviv. And it was it's basically going to [34:22] go all the way to the old city. So, [34:23] you're going to be able to go from Tel [34:25] Aviv, the heart of Tel Aviv to the heart [34:27] of Jerusalem in some 40 minutes. And it [34:30] was it was marvelous. You know what I [34:31] mean? I want to leave uh our viewers [34:34] today with some clarity about the [34:38] trajectory of Israel uh and about the [34:41] vectors the positive vectors that are [34:44] out there. How do you see do you see we [34:46] talked about the negative effect [34:47] >> the threats are clear threats are clear [34:49] >> but there's very good news out there and [34:51] I think it you're very right to point us [34:54] >> to the the miracle that is I I think [34:57] that most other countries in the 193 [35:01] member countries of the UN would have [35:02] collapsed after October 7th [35:04] >> and Israel one of the smallest countries [35:05] in the world has one of the biggest [35:07] collective hearts and and and the [35:09] biggest s resilience systems in the [35:11] world and our young people who who [35:14] fought fought brilliantly, valiantly on [35:16] October 7th until today have turned [35:18] around this whole situation in to the [35:21] point in which Israel is considered the [35:22] strong horse in the Middle East. And one [35:24] of the reasons is is a this is where the [35:27] people of Israel, the Torah of Israel [35:29] and the land of Israel all meet. And [35:30] that convergence is, you know, creates [35:34] an iron will and it creates kind of a [35:36] blessing uh and it's a magnet for for [35:39] Jews. Now is the time for for Jews to [35:41] make aliyah. I really I really like that [35:43] framing a lot. You know, I've heard that [35:44] phrase, the the Torah of Israel, the [35:47] people of Israel, the land of Israel. [35:48] But the way you say that is it's a I say [35:50] it again. I really like that the [35:51] convergence creates a kind of magnetism. [35:53] >> Yeah, it's a magnet. I mean, it's it's [35:54] it's a it's a it's a magnet and it draws [35:57] it it's a magnet from two directions. A [35:59] I think it it does unite um the Jewish [36:02] the people in Israel. even though [36:04] there's been a lot of political uh uh [36:07] you know there's been a lot of political [36:09] tensions within Israel but I don't think [36:11] that's the I think that masks something [36:15] much greater and there's a much greater [36:17] unity within Israel uh there's [36:20] especially octo after uh October 7th um [36:23] there the the numbers of uh investors [36:26] coming in to invest in Israel's high you [36:29] know technology is extraordinary the [36:32] Israeli currency is as strong as it's [36:34] ever been, even to the to the chagrin of [36:37] some of us Americans who who are, you [36:40] know, supported by dollars more than [36:42] they are shekels. But nonetheless, the [36:44] Israeli currency is so strong. The [36:46] Israeli people are resilient. the [36:48] Israeli um you know the the the the [36:51] Israeli body politic is strong and uh uh [36:56] the the the country is uh one of the [36:59] happiest countries in the world uh as [37:01] judged by year-to-year polling on on um [37:05] popular satisfaction happiness and I [37:07] think this is something that's uh [37:09] extraordinary our young people are the [37:11] most uh are are the most talented um [37:15] strong willed resilient generation I [37:17] think that we've we've seen since even [37:18] since the founding of the state. So [37:20] there's really there's really there's a [37:22] lot of good news that the international [37:24] media does not report uh here because [37:26] unfortunately good news doesn't make it [37:28] good news is sometimes an oxymoron [37:30] >> and I don't think Qatar pays for that [37:31] kind of good news. They don't put it out [37:34] there. there is a lot of good news and [37:36] yet uh you're uh one of the leaders of [37:38] the fight uh against the [37:41] delegitimization of Israel and also to [37:43] expose the the strategy of the jihad uh [37:47] which is on the march uh and and it has [37:51] a long game uh and so your organization [37:54] the Jerusalem Center for Security and [37:55] Foreign Affairs uh is putting out stuff. [37:57] the new Palestinian uh terror army [38:00] planning the next October 7th massacre [38:03] in Samaria. [38:04] >> It's a warning sign also that we share [38:06] with the US administration. These are [38:08] this is information that it is available [38:10] nowhere else actually. But um you know [38:13] we have the leading experts on [38:15] Palestinian authority affairs on Hamas [38:18] on the Iranian regime on um Islamic on [38:21] jihad and then the other really [38:23] important campaign is this sort of [38:25] defensible borders after October 7th [38:28] which is why explains why and how and if [38:31] you you can go to jcfa.org og and get [38:34] the online version. But here you have uh [38:37] 13 of the top military intelligence um [38:42] authorities writing why Israel must have [38:45] security zones, protection areas, buffer [38:48] zones, demilitarization areas, Ish is [38:51] beyond the official borders of Israel in [38:54] the north in Lebanon and in Syria and [38:55] why we have to stay there for the [38:57] meantime until our enemies in Syria and [39:01] our and and or the Islamic groups in [39:03] Syria and particularly Hezbollah and [39:05] Lebanon lay down their weapons or are [39:08] disarmed by force. The same in Gaza [39:10] >> or are defeated [39:11] >> or are defeated. There's no other [39:13] choice. There's no that's what happened [39:15] after 1967 which is why we took we were [39:18] forced and I mean thank God we were [39:21] forced to go into Judea and Samaria [39:22] which is the Jew you know Judeo [39:24] heartland but that heartland also gives [39:27] us a 4200 ft advantage topographical [39:32] advantage over our enemies to the east [39:34] Iraq Syria looking down into Jordan and [39:38] then um and then protecting all of our [39:41] Mediterranean communities on the coast [39:43] So that concept is now expanded to the [39:47] north and the south and we and we need [39:50] the support of our brothers and sisters [39:53] uh in order to make this happen and sit [39:55] down with the administration with [39:56] western countries uh and as well as [39:59] uniting Israelis who intuitively know [40:01] it's true but we we want to make it an [40:03] official official policy of Israel [40:05] official declaration the US Congress the [40:08] defensible borders act for Israel this [40:10] is critical now um because we don't know [40:12] what's going happen after the midterm [40:14] elections. We don't know what's going to [40:16] happen uh in America as we politically [40:18] as we move forward. But we do know and [40:21] the Israeli people are united even the [40:23] non-Jewish uh Israeli people [40:26] particularly our Drew Drews brothers and [40:28] sisters, Circasians um and uh and even [40:31] you know those in the Arab sector [40:33] particularly our Arab Christian brothers [40:35] and sisters and even many in the Muslim [40:37] community here that feel under threat by [40:40] our Islamic uh neighbors. And so that's [40:43] why defensible borders for Israel is so [40:45] critical. And then we wanted to get [40:47] those declarations in Congress in in [40:50] European parliaments as well as uh to [40:53] pass something in the Knesset. [40:55] >> And of course, Israeli leadership uh in [40:57] these policies will be the real defining [41:00] thing. You can get other people to [41:02] agree, but you've got to implement those [41:03] policies and people will respect [41:05] strength. That's the Middle East. That's [41:06] really the world. Dan Dker, uh doing [41:09] amazing work here at Jerusalem Center [41:10] for Security and Foreign Affairs. keep [41:12] up the good work and let's hope to see [41:15] Israel stronger in all the eight fronts [41:18] uh and the bad guys receding. They have [41:20] to know as Chevatinsky said that we have [41:23] an iron will and we have an iron wall. [41:25] Uh and of course to strengthen the [41:26] identity of of the Jewish people. We got [41:28] to know what we're fighting for. We got [41:30] to know what the homeland is. We got to [41:31] know our history. Uh and when you get [41:34] all that together, as you said, the [41:35] magnetism of the Torah of Israel, the [41:38] people of Israel, the land of Israel, uh [41:40] this is a a tripartid magnet that really [41:43] uh comes together, nothing can stop it. [41:45] Dan Dker, Dr. Dan Dyker, thanks so much [41:46] for being with us. God bless you folks [41:48] wherever you are.
