Emotional moments: Israeli heroes of the flydubai attack sing Israel’s national anthem, “Hatikvah,” at the Israeli president’s residence after being honored for their bravery. 🇮🇱 After Captain Smit was attacked by the co-pilot on a flight from Dubai to Israel, passengers and crew members helped overpower the assailant and pulled back on the aircraft’s controls until another pilot could take over and make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. In a moment of terror, their quick thinking and bravery helped save lives. All 174 passengers, including 27 children, survived, thanks to the courage of the passengers, crew, and wounded captain, who refused to let this end in tragedy.
