Transcript [00:00] So, it turns out that Israel has decided [00:02] to sue the New York Times for libel, and [00:05] this is in the wake of the story you [00:06] probably heard about it, that Nicholas [00:08] Kristof, a columnist, uh [00:11] a nutcase of a columnist for the New [00:13] York Times, published a piece, New York [00:15] Times published a column of his alleging [00:17] that Israel trains dogs to rape [00:22] Palestinian prisoners. That's right. [00:24] That's what he claimed, and uh it's just [00:26] insanity, but a lot of people believe [00:29] it. It was in the New York Times, and [00:31] Israel is apparently decided to sue. So, [00:35] we're going to get into all of that, but [00:36] let's start off our story with a a clip [00:39] here from Batya Ungar-Sargon. [00:43] You might not know it, but May is Jewish [00:45] Heritage Month in the United States. So, [00:47] it was especially galling when the New [00:49] York Times ran a front-page opinion [00:51] piece by columnist Nicholas Kristof, [00:53] which claimed that, among other things, [00:55] Israel had trained dogs to rape [00:58] Palestinian prisoners. [01:00] Yep, you heard that right. The New York [01:02] Times, the one-time paper of record, the [01:05] definitive legacy newspaper of this [01:07] country, published an outright [01:09] fabrication that Israelis had somehow [01:11] overcome the laws of nature and taught [01:13] dogs to rape Palestinians. [01:15] It's astonishing that this needs to be [01:17] said, but Jews trained dogs to rape [01:20] prisoners is an IQ test, and if you [01:22] believe it, you just failed. [01:24] What's worse is the piece preempted by a [01:27] day the publication of the most [01:28] comprehensive report of the sexual [01:31] crimes that Hamas had committed against [01:33] Israeli men, women, and children on [01:34] October 7th and after. They gang-raped [01:38] men and women before dismembering them. [01:40] They sexually tortured the hostages they [01:42] took, including the little girls. They [01:45] committed crimes too horrific to repeat. [01:49] Yet, the day before this report came [01:51] out, this report of actual crimes by [01:54] Palestinians against Israeli Jews, the [01:56] Times went with a fabricated report of [01:59] Jewish crimes against Palestinians. It's [02:02] atrocity inversion. It's victimhood [02:05] envy. And it's just the purest form of [02:07] anti-Semitism. [02:10] That about sums it up. Okay, the New [02:12] York Times pushed this story of draw dog [02:16] trained dogs to rape prisoners. [02:19] And uh yeah, and and and Batya is right. [02:22] It's an IQ test. And if you believe it, [02:24] you failed. So, she you know, first of [02:27] all, she talks about overcoming the laws [02:29] of nature. Let's just put this to rest [02:31] here. Here's a piece from India today. [02:33] Can dogs penetrate humans? New York [02:34] Times op-ed on rape of Palestinians by [02:36] IDF sparks outrage. And then down in the [02:39] piece, they get into the whole issue. [02:42] Check this out. After the op-ed was [02:45] published by the New York Times, a [02:46] massive debate started on whether dogs [02:48] can penetrate humans. People claimed [02:50] online that they began researching [02:51] whether it's actually possible. Quote, [02:53] "It's impossible to train dogs for this. [02:55] This is absurd propaganda." posted Emily [02:57] Schrader, an Israeli journalist. [03:00] Dogs quote, "Dogs cannot anatomically [03:02] rape humans. As a physician, I thought I [03:04] would just point that out." "Why are [03:06] anti-Semites such idiots?" a US-based [03:08] physician Sheila Nazarian wrote. [03:11] Um and look at this one. [03:14] Eli Lake writing for the Free Press said [03:16] Kristof's dog rape story doesn't pass [03:18] muster. Lake quotes inputs from Brandon [03:20] McMillan, a three-time Emmy winning host [03:23] of CBS's Lucky Dog, who has decades of [03:26] training animals for argument. Quote, [03:29] "The story of trained rape dogs does not [03:30] hold up. Let's start with what is known [03:32] about the biology of male dogs. Their [03:34] penises are small and thin. They become [03:36] erect only when they smell the [03:37] pheromones of a female dog in heat." [03:39] wrote Lake. Brandon McMillan told me he [03:42] had never heard of a dog who was trained [03:43] to rape a human being and doubted that [03:45] this was possible. I'm not going to [03:47] belabor this point. Now, what Batya was [03:50] referring to about the the report. So, [03:53] literally the day a couple day or a day [03:56] or two before [03:58] after Kristof's piece ran was when this [04:01] report was scheduled to be released. It [04:02] has been released [04:04] this silence no more report. [04:06] And what it is is a very extensive [04:09] report on all of the atrocities, the [04:12] sexual atrocities committed on October [04:13] 7th, far more extensive than anything we [04:16] have seen previously. [04:18] Um [04:19] let me just to sum up a little bit here. [04:23] They they interviewed for this report, [04:26] they went through they reviewed over [04:27] 10,000 photographs and videos, over [04:29] 1,800 hours of visual analysis. They [04:32] conducted over 430 interviews with [04:34] survivors, witnesses, returned hostages, [04:37] and experts. [04:39] Uh so, it's a massive level of [04:41] documentation. Whenever everyone was [04:42] saying, "Oh, the you know, the rapes on [04:44] October 7th were a hoax. They didn't [04:46] really rape people." [04:47] This is this is the evidence. And it's a [04:50] very comprehensive report. It's not done [04:53] by the Israeli government. It's done by [04:54] an independent [04:55] uh research organization that did it. [04:57] And you can find this report and you [05:00] should download it. You should go find [05:01] it and download it. You can find it on [05:03] the Civil Commission [05:05] It's the Civil Commission on the October [05:06] 7th crimes by Hamas. Go to civilc.org. I [05:09] mean, the atrocities that they outline [05:11] in there are [05:13] are unbelievable. They're they're it's [05:16] it's it's very it's very difficult [05:18] to describe. And Masha mentions a few of [05:21] them in that clip. [05:23] But it's pretty clear [05:25] that [05:26] the timing of this Kristof piece had in [05:29] mind to overshadow [05:32] or to balance out this report that was [05:35] coming out about the sexual crimes that [05:37] were committed on October 7th. That's [05:38] what it just makes it even more [05:40] insidious. So, go to civilc civilc.org. [05:44] Download that [05:48] that report. Send it to people. Send it [05:49] to your elected officials. [05:51] I just cut a video for Israel 365 News [05:53] going deeply into this report. It's [05:55] pretty [05:56] uh it's pretty uh [05:58] you know, viewer discretion advised. So, [08:12] please join us for that on Wednesday. [08:15] Okay. [08:16] Um let's move on with this with this [08:18] wild story here. Now, [08:21] besides the fact that dogs [08:23] are [08:24] physically incapable of raping human [08:27] beings, uh and the fact that it's pretty [08:30] clear that this was done in order to [08:32] overshadow the the silence no more [08:36] um [08:37] the silence no more uh [08:39] rape rape on October 7th report. [08:42] There's also another issue here that was [08:44] pointed out online. Take a look at this. [08:47] Regarding the Kristof column, let's put [08:48] aside the dog rape stuff and focus on [08:51] one additional specific example of why [08:53] it was such poor and indefensible [08:55] journalism. [08:56] There were two named victims of assault [08:58] of sexual assault [09:00] by Israeli soldiers in Kristof's column. [09:02] One of them [09:04] is Issa Amro. He was detained and [09:07] interrogated for 10 hours on October [09:09] 7th. The only problem, he himself put [09:12] out the below video about what happened [09:14] to him that day. [09:16] I will link to it in this week's [09:17] newsletter. In the video, he claims his [09:19] hands were tied tightly, they cursed at [09:21] him, and he was hit several times, but [09:23] at no point does he suggest anything [09:25] even close to sexual assault. Two weeks [09:28] later, he was interviewed by ABC News. [09:30] Again, no mention of sexual assault. He [09:33] would later be interviewed by the [09:34] Washington Post and would claim he was [09:36] threatened with sexual assault, but not [09:38] that it occurred. This person repeatedly [09:40] talked about the events that day and [09:42] never once claimed sexual assault except [09:45] when it became convenient to fit [09:47] Kristof's narrative to provide evidence [09:49] of a systemic problem. And no, it's not [09:51] a coincidence that this activist has [09:53] done a ton of media. [09:56] Did Kristof know that there was a [09:57] contemporaneous account from one of the [09:59] two named alleged victims that [10:02] that that does not claim sexual assault? [10:06] Did New York Times editors know the [10:07] person being cited changed their story? [10:10] Why would he even change his story? If [10:12] he was sexually assaulted all the times [10:13] that he talked about the horrors [10:15] committed against him by the Israelis, [10:16] why didn't he ever mention it? Because [10:18] it's nonsense. [10:20] And [10:22] in the in New York, about 200 Jewish and [10:24] pro-Israel demonstrators gathered [10:26] outside the New York Times headquarters [10:27] in Manhattan to protest a recent column [10:31] by Nicholas Kristof. There you go. [10:34] Alleging systematic sexual abuse of [10:37] Palestinian inmates by Israel. The [10:39] protest, organized by End Jew Hatred [10:40] Heenane and the and anti-anti-Zionist [10:43] groups, featured chants of New York [10:45] Times, "Shame on you." and signs [10:47] accusing the newspaper of spreading [10:49] anti-Israel libels. Demonstrators also [10:51] referenced the Dreyfus affair [10:53] and condemned what they described as [10:54] media attempts to demonize Israel while [10:57] ignoring Hamas atrocities. And as I [10:59] mentioned at the top of this video, [11:01] Israel has now said that it will sue the [11:03] New York Times over this article. Okay, [11:06] um and it says here, "Israel's Prime [11:08] Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign [11:09] Minister Gideon Saar have threatened to [11:11] sue the New York Times for defamation [11:13] over the publication of an essay by [11:14] Nicholas Kristof detailing allegations [11:17] that Palestinian women, men, and [11:18] children have been raped and sexually [11:20] abused in military in Israeli military [11:22] detention." [11:24] Following the publication of by Nicholas [11:25] Kristof in the New York Times of one of [11:27] the most hideous and distorted lies ever [11:28] published against the state of Israel in [11:30] the modern press, which also received [11:33] the backing of the newspaper, Prime [11:34] Minister Netanyahu and Foreign Minister [11:35] Gideon Saar have instructed the [11:38] initiation of a defamation lawsuit [11:40] against the New York Times. Israel's [11:42] Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote on [11:44] Thursday. "They defamed the soldiers of [11:47] Israel and perpetuated a blood libel [11:49] about rape trying to create a false [11:51] symmetry between the genocidal [11:53] terrorists of Hamas and Israel's valiant [11:55] soldiers." Netanyahu added in a [11:57] statement. "We will fight these lies in [11:59] the court of public opinion and in the [12:01] court of law. Truth will prevail." [12:06] Uh [12:07] the threat, similar to to one made last [12:09] year, is part of a well-worn political [12:10] playbook that aims to undermine [12:12] independent reporting and stifle [12:13] journalism that does not fit the [12:15] specific narrative, Danielle Rhodes Ha, [12:17] a New York Times spokesperson, said. [12:20] "Any such legal claim would be without [12:21] merit. Nick has covered sexual violence [12:23] for decades and is widely regarded as [12:25] one of the world's best on-the-ground [12:26] journalists in documenting and bearing [12:29] witness to sexual abuse experienced by [12:31] women and men in war and conflict [12:33] zones." [12:34] They're defending him. [12:36] "Kristof's interviews with 14 men and [12:38] women were corroborated with other [12:39] witnesses where never possible and with [12:41] people the victims confided in. That [12:43] includes family members and lawyers." [12:46] Has it occurred to them that when you're [12:47] talking to jihadist Muslims, [12:50] part of their whole religious faith [12:53] ideology about jihad is that you lie? [12:57] Lying is They're instructed to lie. They [12:59] don't That's part of the That's part of [13:01] their piety. That's part of their [13:02] religious faith is that in the context [13:04] of jihad, you lie. [13:07] And and what kind of [ __ ] would believe [13:09] this story? It's insane. [13:12] But then it says here, "It's not clear [13:13] in which jurisdiction Israeli officials [13:15] would bring a lawsuit or whether [13:17] defamation claims could even be filed by [13:19] a government. There's no chance a US [13:21] court would countenance such a case," [13:23] said David Logan, professor emeritus at [13:25] the Roger Williams School of Law and a [13:27] media law expert. There's a legal [13:29] consensus, he added, that the First [13:30] Amendment bars lawsuits of prosecutions [13:32] of critics of government brought by the [13:35] government. [13:38] Okay, so we're not even sure if the if [13:40] if a if a lawsuit could even work. [13:45] Earlier this week, Israel's foreign [13:46] ministry accused the Times of purposely [13:48] having published Kristof's piece the [13:49] night before the publication of an [13:51] official Israeli report alleging [13:54] systematic It's not alleging, alleging, [13:55] proving, excuse me. It has the evidence [13:57] there. Systematic sexual violence by [13:59] Hamas on and following October 7th, [14:02] 2023. [14:03] The statement prompted the Times to [14:04] issue a public response rejecting the [14:06] allegations. [14:08] The paper also publicly rejected [14:09] allegations of internal discussions at [14:11] the Times about source credibility and [14:13] lack of evidence. They are standing [14:15] behind this story. [14:17] It's unbelievable. [14:19] Netanyahu says that he's looking into [14:21] the question of whether a country can [14:22] sue that can sue a newspaper. [14:26] And then the Wall Street Journal [14:27] published a a nice little piece here. [14:28] Let's end with this. [14:31] Kristof's unbelievable tale by Rachel [14:32] O'Donoghue. [14:35] A little-known Geneva-based NGO called [14:37] Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor published [14:39] a report in June 2024 alleging that the [14:42] Israeli military was using dogs to [14:44] attack Palestinian civilians in Gaza, [14:47] including to sexually assault prisoners [14:49] and detainees in Israeli detention [14:50] facilities. Quoting testimony attributed [14:53] to Palestinian detainees, Euro-Med [14:54] claimed that the dogs equipped with [14:56] surveillance cameras strapped to their [14:58] backs were let loose on prisoners [15:00] torturing them systematically and [15:02] sometimes collectively. [15:04] Euro-Med's report received no attention [15:05] from mainstream outlets when it was [15:07] released and for good reason. [15:09] Israel has linked the group's leadership [15:10] to Hamas. [15:12] There you go. Euro-Med and that's why no [15:14] one paid attention to this nonsense. [15:16] Euro-Med has a documented record of [15:18] promoting wild allegations against [15:20] Israel, including claims of organ [15:22] harvesting of Palestinian detainees, [15:24] mass executions in hospitals, and [15:26] denials of well-established Hamas [15:28] activity at Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital. [15:31] This week Euro-Med's far-fetched [15:32] allegations found their way into a New [15:34] York Times opinion piece penned by [15:36] Nicholas Kristof. [15:39] Uh and it talks about the talks about [15:41] the Israeli dogs who were coached to [15:43] rape prisoners. [15:45] And he says here, "Unfortunately, she [15:46] writes here, "Unfortunately, that isn't [15:48] where the problems with Mr. Kristof's [15:49] investigations end. Having reportedly [15:51] spoken to 14 men and women who alleged [15:54] sexual abuse by Israeli security forces [15:56] and citizens living in the West Bank, [15:59] Mr. Kristof names two of them, Sami [16:01] Al-Sai, 46, whom he identifies as a [16:04] freelance journalist, and Issa Amro, who [16:06] I mentioned before, a non-violent [16:08] activist who Mr. Kristof claims is [16:10] sometimes dubbed the Palestinian Gandhi. [16:13] Mr. Al-Sai recounts for Mr. Kristof a [16:15] horrifying experience of rape in [16:17] detention after his 2024 arrest, after [16:20] which he says he was dumped, bleeding, [16:22] and in excruciating pain back into his [16:24] cell. He claims the spot where he had [16:26] been raped bore signs of previous [16:28] assaults with other people's vomit, [16:30] blood, and broken teeth [16:32] crushed into his skin. [16:34] Oh, wow. Such detail. Details of the [16:37] assault related by [16:39] by Mr. Kristof differ from an account [16:40] that Mr. Al-Sai provided to the Israeli [16:42] NGO B'Tselem. B'Tselem is a left-wing [16:45] NGO that that interviews these people to [16:48] get their testimony of all the terrible [16:50] things they've done to Israel, and then [16:51] they press and then they try to get [16:52] Israelis prosecuted. [16:55] And this but the problem is that this [16:57] account doesn't match that one. [16:59] And they come on top of Mr. Al-Sai's [17:01] previous claims of torture not only by [17:03] Israel, but also by the Palestinian [17:05] Authority. He once falsely claimed um [17:08] he made false claims against the [17:10] Palestinian Authority, too. [17:12] Uh mean so here's the story. In 2017, he [17:14] was arrested by the Palestinian [17:16] intelligence services. [17:17] His mother visited him in prison and [17:19] alleged that he was beaten, hung from [17:21] door frames and windows, and injected [17:23] with an unknown drug four times a day. [17:25] Both the Palestinian public prosecution [17:27] and Palestinian Journalists Syndicate [17:29] flatly denied his torture claims. [17:33] And the syndicate said that when its [17:35] members visited him in detention, he [17:37] told them that the reports of torture [17:39] were false rumor. [17:42] Okay, [17:43] these are the people that this that [17:45] Christoph interviewed and he [17:47] Listen, [17:48] he must have known. There's no way he [17:51] couldn't do a little bit of checking to [17:53] see who these people were. [17:55] Bottom line, this was a deliberate blood [17:56] libel, the craziest [17:59] I mean, type of anti-Semitism you can [18:01] find. [18:03] And like Batsheva said, this is an IQ [18:05] test and if anyone believes this [18:07] nonsense, [18:08] that is I mean, that's the failure of [18:11] the IQ test right there. That's what it [18:13] is. [18:15] All right. Listen, the Jewish people [18:16] have been through way worse than this [18:17] and and will survive this as well. [18:20] But we are living in dark times when a [18:22] newspaper that is apparently reputable, [18:24] like the New York Times, can publish [18:25] something on the front page alleging [18:27] something so absurd. I mean, this is [18:29] right out of you know, like the I mean, [18:32] it's even more extreme than the than the [18:33] crazy Nazi propaganda or the or the or [18:36] the stuff about, you know, Jews [18:38] you know, uh [18:39] sucking blood, like you know, the [18:41] craziest anti-Semitic stuff. [18:43] And uh we're seeing it in the New York [18:45] Times and this shows you how acceptable [18:47] uh Jew hatred and libels against the [18:49] Jews are, but it also shows you how how [18:51] desperate they are [18:53] to um [18:55] deny Israel [18:58] the [18:59] the um [19:02] the the the proper reaction [19:06] to the reports of the widespread rapes [19:08] of Israeli citizens on October 7th and [19:10] after. [19:11] That's what this was designed to do. [19:14] To create this kind of equivalency so [19:15] you so the you know that whatever [19:17] sympathy should be [19:19] uh [19:20] you know there should be for for what [19:22] Israelis went through should be negated [19:24] by this ridiculous libel. It's all very [19:27] dark. [19:28] Uh anyway, that's what's going on now [19:30] with this story. I hope you found this [19:32] helpful and interesting. Please drop a [19:33] comment. Let me know what you thought. [19:35] Please like, share, subscribe, all that [19:36] jazz. God bless.
