Transcript [00:00] I want to show you a clip from a [00:01] conversation between Eric Metaxas and [00:05] Victor Davis Hanson. They're talking [00:07] about Tucker Carlson, J.D. Vance, uh and [00:10] then also Candace Owens, Nick Fuentes, [00:12] where all of that where everything's [00:14] headed on the right. [00:16] Uh both of them both [00:19] Victor Davis Hanson and Eric Metaxas [00:21] make some very good points in this clip, [00:24] but there are a few spots where I think [00:25] that they're missing something or where [00:28] I have a take based on what I know uh [00:31] that uh [00:33] that's different than what they're [00:34] saying, basically. [00:36] So, I'm going to play this in chunks. [00:37] I'm going to stop along the way. Uh [00:40] let's pull it up and we'll play the [00:42] first uh [00:44] 2 and 1/2 minutes or so of this clip. [00:46] Okay, let's go for it. Here we go. And [00:49] play. [00:49] >> Well, what's of course also unforeseen [00:51] uh is what some are calling the woke [00:53] right. Uh I don't know if you ever [00:56] uh comment on Tucker opening the door to [00:58] Nick Fuentes and his uh gang or Candace [01:03] Owens. It's a bizarre phenomenon that on [01:06] I I still don't know how we can call it [01:08] the right, but the people that were [01:10] formerly on the right seem to have [01:12] opened the door uh to these things and [01:14] have now openly stood against the [01:18] president and and Tucker [01:20] against the Republican Party. I mean, [01:22] when you talk about things that we [01:24] couldn't have predicted a year ago, I I [01:27] still don't know what to make of it. [01:28] >> You know, I I don't either. [01:30] Uh Tucker Carlson, I was on his show for [01:33] I think 8 years every Monday night. He [01:35] used to give pretty well-reasoned [01:38] arguments to why we should be afraid of [01:40] the Islamic takeover of Europe, for [01:42] example, or radical Islam within the [01:45] United States. And he supported Israel. [01:48] Megan Kelly gave a year ago, she gave a [01:50] very [01:51] well-thought-out attack on uh radical [01:54] Islam. [01:56] Candace Owens was a different case [01:59] altogether and I think [02:01] uh she was always unstable and [02:05] whether it was Macron's wife being a man [02:08] or the Mossad, she's I think she's [02:10] discredited and she's not part of the [02:12] party, but [02:13] what we're getting at some point when [02:16] I guess what I'm saying is that I like [02:18] J.D. Vance, but when J.D. Vance says [02:21] Israel can't bomb its way out uh to [02:24] victory or he says [02:26] that he's he's really [02:29] found moderates among the Iranian [02:31] delegation and it might usher in a new [02:33] Middle East or he says things to that [02:37] nature, [02:38] it it gives Tucker and those other [02:40] people confidence to keep going is what [02:43] I'm saying. Not that he is himself he's [02:45] not an anti-Sem- J.D. Vance is not an [02:48] anti-Semite. He's a very loyal person to [02:51] Trump, but [02:53] he's getting battered. The Wall Street [02:55] Journal attacks him almost every week [02:58] and at some point he's going to have to [03:00] come out, I think, and re- reaffirm his [03:03] support for the Rubio [03:05] uh Trump [03:07] uh MAGA agenda as it pertains to Israel, [03:10] Jews, etc. [03:12] Just because of these people these [03:14] people really do feel that he is their [03:16] advocate. [03:20] >> Okay, let's pause it there. [03:22] I just want to push back on something [03:23] that uh Victor Davis Hanson said [03:26] towards the beginning of this where he [03:27] described Tucker Carlson as having [03:30] supported Israel back in his Fox days [03:32] and I don't think that's accurate. Now, [03:35] it's true that Tucker did not attack [03:37] Israel when he was on Fox, [03:39] but he [03:40] actually avoided Israel completely. He [03:42] did not defend Israel at all. [03:45] In fact, it was so conspicuous. I [03:46] remember I had a good friend of mine I I [03:48] used to watch Tucker every day and I I I [03:51] I I loved it. I I loved his opening [03:53] monologues. I thought his show was [03:54] great. [03:56] And I had a I have a close friend. I [03:57] think I mentioned this in one video a [03:59] little while ago. I have a close friend [04:00] who also watched Tucker regularly and [04:03] said to me that he thinks Tucker's [04:05] anti-Israel. And I was like, "What are [04:06] you talking about? I've never heard him [04:07] say anything anti-Israel." And he said, [04:08] "Yeah, that's exactly it. He never ever [04:11] talks about Israel, even if Israel is is [04:13] in the headlines, even if there's it's [04:14] big news, he'll avoid the topic." [04:18] And uh and then [04:20] you know, and then right after he left [04:21] Fox, he he turned you know, he started [04:24] he started with all the anti-Israel [04:26] stuff [04:27] uh and and going down that path. [04:30] But on Fox, it's true that on Fox he was [04:32] he would warn about the Islamic takeover [04:35] of Europe, of radical Islam in the West. [04:37] Uh you know, but uh [04:40] yeah, but again [04:41] you know, all of the [04:43] all of the Iran-sympathizing [04:46] and [04:47] uh and casting Israel and and [04:50] you know, somewhat Jews as well, but [04:53] Israel being this kind of [04:55] real enemy with from within, that all [04:58] started after he [04:59] after he left Fox. [05:01] All right, let's play some more of this. [05:04] >> Well, that's the thing. Uh that's the [05:06] thing. Kimber- Kimberly uh Strassel in [05:07] the Wall Street Journal hit uh J.D. [05:10] Vance very hard uh and I thought, "Wow, [05:13] um he has to respond to this." But it's [05:15] a funny thing cuz we're living in a [05:17] world now where if you don't respond to [05:19] certain things, I mean, Megan Kelly uh [05:22] allowing the vicious vicious attacks [05:26] uh to Erica Kirk to to go on and on and [05:28] on. Um [05:31] We're we're living in very strange times [05:33] right now, and it seems like J.D. Vance [05:35] has uh [05:36] I don't I don't know where he stands [05:38] on these things, but it is curious that [05:41] you have to do I mean, you and I will [05:42] remember [05:44] the Bill Clinton's famous sister soldier [05:47] moment in 1992 where he slaps down the [05:50] {quote} raptivist. I mean the only way [05:52] we remember Sister Soulja is because of [05:54] this moment. But, it it is interesting [05:58] Buckley did the same thing in the '60s [06:00] with the John Birch Society where you [06:02] where you simply say there's a line [06:04] here. We have to reject people on the [06:07] other side of the line. We have to bring [06:08] it up. We have to talk about it. Um [06:11] and and and that's something that J.D. [06:14] Vance hasn't done and I find it at least [06:18] curious if not confusing. [06:21] >> Yeah. [06:22] Okay. [06:24] Um [06:28] You know, there's this assumption [06:30] You know, actually let's watch uh [06:33] I guess we should watch Victor Davis [06:34] Hanson's reaction first, right? [06:36] Uh but, you know, we'll get to that in a [06:38] minute. Let me just say that what Eric [06:40] is saying here [06:42] is he's assuming that if J.D. Vance did [06:46] a did a William F. Buckley moment [06:49] you know, saying the John Birch Society [06:51] is out or what Bill Clinton said about [06:52] Sister Soulja [06:54] who was part of the Democrat coalition [06:56] and he and he he basically said [06:58] we have red lines. [07:01] Eric is assuming that this would work [07:03] for Vance the way it worked for [07:07] for Buckley or for Clinton. And I'm not [07:09] sure it would. And the reason I say that [07:11] is the current climate, the current [07:14] political climate. The reason [07:16] that cancel culture backlash [07:19] is so powerful on the right is because [07:22] an entire generation of younger [07:23] conservatives watched the left policing [07:27] language and ideas. [07:29] And [07:31] the climate right now on the right is [07:33] that if you draw red lines and you say [07:35] this person is out or you're not allowed [07:37] to say that [07:39] it it it looks like establishment [07:41] behavior. [07:42] And it [07:44] it [07:45] it reads as exactly the thing that [07:47] they've been taught to resent. Saying [07:49] the Saying the forbidden thing has [07:51] become cool. Enforcing boundaries is is [07:54] a sign that you've sold out. [07:57] So, [07:59] you know, if they're right, [08:02] well, let's watch a little bit about [08:03] what Victor Davis Hanson says, and then [08:05] we'll then we'll comment some more. [08:06] >> I I think [08:08] I think his strategy, and I'm I This is [08:10] just speculation, is he understands that [08:14] 40% of the electorate are white [08:16] working-class voters without college [08:19] degrees, and they are 67-68% [08:23] MAGA voters, and they've made the [08:24] difference. They have abandoned the [08:26] Democratic Party, and his future, both [08:30] from his own background and his own [08:32] political positions, he wants to keep [08:35] that margin because he will not do as [08:37] well with minorities as other [08:40] Republicans might do. And so, I think he [08:43] keeps saying talk, and he has legitimate [08:46] legitimate points of of argument. He [08:49] says, you know, they were the losers of [08:51] globalization, they can't afford homes, [08:54] they've been suffering from imported [08:56] drugs, open borders, all of that. And [09:00] they're very patriotic, and they were [09:01] discriminated by DEI and all that. But [09:04] at some point, [09:06] uh [09:07] that's not going to get you elected. And [09:10] I'm just talking now in crass political [09:12] terms. So, he's going to lose a lot of [09:15] people, and they're not just crazy Never [09:18] Trumpers. They're people who like him [09:20] that are conservative, that were [09:23] all in on him being the next nominee, [09:26] and but they're very, very upset because [09:30] I've talked to all hundreds of them, and [09:33] they they feel that he didn't come out [09:35] strongly against Nick Fuentes. As you [09:37] point out. He did not come out against [09:40] Tucker. [09:41] And he said things himself that could be [09:43] interpreted that he [09:45] uh detests Netanyahu. He doesn't like [09:48] Israel. And he's suspicious of why they [09:50] have support. And when he says things [09:52] like [09:53] he's still troubled by who that the [09:56] Charlie Kirk thing or the Mossad or [09:58] there's some things we'll never know [10:00] about Epstein. All of that [10:03] that reinforces that [10:05] that sense that he is too close to [10:07] people that are unstable. [10:12] >> Okay. So, [10:17] if if Victor Davis Hanson is right [10:20] that older conservatives [10:22] want Vance to publicly [10:26] break with Tucker Carlson. [10:29] Okay. And I I He could be right about [10:30] that. It could be that that's what older [10:32] conservatives want. I think he's [10:33] actually right. I think older [10:34] conservatives kind of want that [10:37] you know, the red lines to be drawn and [10:38] someone to stand up and and and say, you [10:41] know, and and you know, set things [10:43] right. [10:45] And if he's right about this, if Victor [10:46] Davis Hanson's right about this [10:47] assessment, then J.D. Vance is in a real [10:49] bind. [10:51] Because [10:53] if [10:54] if Vance were to do something like that [10:58] and a a big chunk of the younger [11:00] populist base would see him as caving to [11:02] the establishment and and lacking you [11:05] know, lacking integrity from their [11:07] perspective. [11:09] But if he doesn't do it [11:11] guys like Victor Davis Hanson keep [11:13] saying that it's a problem that he's [11:14] staying silent and they don't trust him [11:16] because of that. There's no clean [11:18] Buckley move available to J.D. Vance [11:20] here because the political culture that [11:22] made Buckley's move work doesn't exist [11:24] anymore. [11:27] You know, [11:28] that's that's what I think is is is [11:30] going on here. [11:34] You know, so [11:37] So, that said [11:39] that said, I don't think this is only a [11:41] calculation for Vance. I think there's a [11:42] real chance [11:44] that he actually might agree with a good [11:45] chunk of what of what the Tucker wing on [11:48] Israel says. That's That's what I find [11:51] disturbing, meaning [11:52] Victor Davis Hanson is framing it as [11:53] kind of like, "Oh, this is [11:56] you know, this is the political [11:57] calculation." [11:59] But, what if J.D. Vance actually agrees [12:01] with that? [12:02] Look at his own recent statements [12:03] surrounding the [12:05] the MOU criticism, both what he said on [12:08] on Joe Rogan's podcast, which I made I [12:10] made a video about [12:13] uh and [12:14] and what he said at the press conference [12:16] right after the MOU was signed. At that [12:18] press conference, remember he claimed [12:20] that Israeli cabinet ministers were [12:22] personally attacking Trump. Now, there's [12:24] no record of that happening. Zero. [12:26] It was It was fabricated. [12:30] It was a straw man, saying, "Oh, there's [12:32] you know, they shouldn't They're They're [12:34] personally attacking Trump and that's [12:36] But But But But they weren't. They were [12:38] They were Israelis. [12:40] Uh you'd never hear an Israeli cabinet [12:42] minister attacking Trump. There's [12:43] tremendous gratitude to Trump in Israel, [12:45] even as there's sometimes frustration [12:47] with moves that he makes. [12:49] But, there was also Look, Israeli [12:50] cabinet ministers' [12:52] statements are on public record, and I'm [12:54] not the only one. People searched. [12:57] So, that's an example where J.D. Vance [12:59] was actually [13:01] you know, it indicated to me that he [13:03] might actually agree with these guys. [13:06] Because that type of [13:09] move by J.D. Vance, when he made that [13:10] claim, it kind of lines up with this [13:12] conspiratorial framing that's coming out [13:14] of the Tucker world. So, [13:16] we I'm not sure that it's just [13:19] a kind of crass political calculation [13:22] for Vance. [13:23] So, Victor Davis Hanson's read that this [13:25] is pure electoral math, protect the 40% [13:28] white working class mega block. [13:31] Because you don't do so great with [13:32] minorities, you need that voters, and [13:34] that's true, and this is why this is why [13:36] I don't think JD Vance can win. [13:40] But I don't think it's the whole story. [13:41] I think Vance might actually be [13:42] sympathetic [13:44] to some of the toxic stuff on the right, [13:46] and that's what's most worrying to me. [13:49] Uh let's go a little further. We'll play [13:50] another couple minutes of this. [13:54] >> Well, I just at this point what what [13:56] fascinates me I I think [13:58] what Tucker has done is absolutely [14:01] despicable. Uh he has really hurt [14:04] Turning Point. If he was ever any friend [14:07] to Charlie Kirk, he would do all he [14:08] could uh to help Turning Point. He [14:10] really has hurt uh Turning Point, put [14:13] them in a difficult position. He [14:15] certainly hurt the Heritage Foundation. [14:17] He's playing some game where he doesn't [14:19] seem to care um about these things. And [14:22] now, of course, he has publicly turned [14:25] against the Republican Party. I mean, [14:27] before that, he turned against Trump. [14:29] And I you know, at some point, you just [14:31] wonder who he's speaking to. Uh [14:35] I have no idea who Candace Owens is [14:37] speaking to, but we know in our [14:38] lifetime, you know, the the National [14:39] Enquirer could always make money. There [14:41] are always people out there uh who who [14:44] will believe that Macron is married to a [14:48] woman and will take that seriously. I [14:51] mean, it's there's just a level of [14:53] madness, but I guess to me, [14:56] the the viciousness that uh that Nick [14:59] Fuentes has expressed on any number of [15:02] topics, inc- extraordinary vile [15:05] viciousness, and he always despised and [15:09] was jealous of Charlie Kirk. If there [15:11] ever were a time uh [15:14] to say, "This guy is not of our tribe." [15:16] And anybody has to you have to choose. [15:18] Do you follow Charlie Kirk or do you [15:20] follow Nick Fuentes? Or do you follow [15:23] Charlie Kirk or do you follow Candace [15:24] Owens? We need leaders who are willing [15:27] to do that. Trump is the only one who [15:29] has been willing to do that, it seems to [15:31] me. But we we need more voices like [15:34] that, and I think that [15:36] Megan Kelly in that same group, they've [15:38] just done themselves uh [15:41] effectively fatal damage, it seems to [15:43] me. [15:43] >> Yeah. [15:45] Okay. [15:47] So, this is the part of the clip that [15:48] really hit hit me pretty hard [15:51] cuz it brought back This was a big topic [15:53] with Charlie [15:55] uh both publicly and in our chats. [15:59] This question of boundaries and red [16:01] lines and who's in and who's out and [16:03] trying to keep the coalition together [16:05] while also keeping the bad actors out. [16:08] Um [16:10] with Fuentes, Charlie drew that line, he [16:12] was out. With Candace, Charlie [16:14] drew that line very famously. He stopped [16:16] having her Turning Point and she was [16:18] she was out because she crossed certain [16:20] lines. [16:21] Now, Tucker was the one that Charlie was [16:24] he was still [16:25] on board with but he was struggling [16:27] with. [16:28] And this doesn't get talked about or not [16:29] cuz people don't know. People don't know [16:31] what was happening behind the scenes, [16:32] but you know, what Charlie was [16:34] after the backlash when Tucker gave this [16:36] very toxic anti-Israel and anti-Semitic [16:39] speech in last July, about a year ago. [16:43] And then there was all this backlash [16:44] from the Jewish community, the [16:45] pro-Israel community, and and you know, [16:46] people never mind the fact that there [16:48] were also pro-Israel speakers at that [16:49] conference. That no one no one remembers [16:51] that. No one That didn't make the news. [16:53] That's a problem on our side that we [16:55] that we only notice the bad stuff. [16:57] In any event, [16:58] uh when all that backlash was going on, [17:00] Charlie was very much struggling with, [17:02] you know, what's going to happen next [17:04] with his relationship with Tucker, [17:05] having him at TPUSA events. And then [17:08] uh and I'll tell you honestly what [17:10] happened was someone in the pro-Israel [17:12] community started attacked Charlie [17:15] uh [17:15] for, you know, for [17:17] for platforming Tucker like so viciously [17:20] that Charlie being the type of person he [17:22] was, he didn't like to be pushed around. [17:25] So, that's when he went ahead and booked [17:27] Tucker [17:28] for the next conference, but it was [17:29] something he struggled with. It was [17:31] something he struggled with. [17:33] Um, [17:34] I don't know exactly what would have [17:35] happened [17:38] if Charlie was still alive and Tucker [17:40] had was had [17:43] and Tucker had done everything he's done [17:44] since because Tucker has gone more and [17:47] more extreme and more and more [17:49] conspiratorial and more and more [17:50] anti-Israel and anti-Jewish. [17:54] So, I'll say this confidently though. I [17:55] don't believe I and that's that's the [17:58] thing. I don't think that Tucker would [18:00] have gone as far as he's gone if Charlie [18:03] were still alive. [18:04] And this brings up So, in this vein, [18:07] I'll bring up a detail that I that that [18:11] is very interesting that Charlie [18:13] appeared on Tucker Carlson's show. [18:15] Tucker interviewed Charlie [18:17] not long before he was killed. [18:19] You can go back and watch the interview. [18:22] And it's really interesting because it's [18:23] like the only interview over the course [18:25] of months that that Tucker did. Pretty [18:27] much it's the only interview where the [18:29] topic of Israel did not come up at all. [18:30] And they talked about a lot of different [18:32] topics. [18:34] Didn't mention Israel even once in the [18:36] interview. [18:38] And it's not like Israel is not [18:39] relevant. I mean, you know, Charlie [18:40] talked about Israel all the time. [18:42] Tucker, of course, talked about Israel [18:43] all the time. The topic did not come up. [18:47] And it wasn't an accident. It was an [18:48] agreement between them that the topic [18:50] would not get touched in the interview. [18:52] Charlie knew exactly where Tucker stood [18:54] and he didn't want to mix it up. He [18:56] didn't want to get into it with him. And [18:57] he made a deliberate choice not to let [18:59] that conversation happen. [19:01] So, what I'm what I'm saying here is [19:03] that Charlie was managing the situation. [19:07] This was something he thought about a [19:08] lot [19:09] and he and he actively [19:11] thought about a lot. I mean he actively [19:13] worked on the whole question of where [19:15] are the lines. [19:17] That doesn't mean I always agreed with [19:18] where he drew them. I'm just saying this [19:19] was [19:20] the type of leadership that Eric is [19:22] talking about. [19:24] You know, [19:25] makes me think about Charlie. That's [19:26] all. That's my point. [19:30] Let's do one more one more uh clip of [19:31] this. We'll pick it up uh [19:35] around here. [19:39] >> Uh [19:39] >> I'm unaware of that. Did you Can you [19:41] repeat that cuz I can hardly believe [19:43] what you just said. [19:45] >> We're going to have [19:46] Tucker's case, he tries to identify [19:49] with the Heritage people or he tries to [19:51] identify with J.D. Vance and then he [19:54] puts them in a position where he wants [19:56] to be extreme and then he wants to force [19:58] them [19:59] to make a choice. And if they hesitate, [20:03] then he takes that as an endorsement and [20:04] gets more emboldened. So at some point [20:07] people going are going to have to see [20:08] that he's playing them. [20:10] And that that's I don't know for [20:12] log the algorithms or the clicks or the [20:15] bots or whatever it is, but they need to [20:17] come out and say [20:19] this administration is a firm supporter [20:21] of Israel. This administration does not [20:24] believe in a conspiracy of Jews in the [20:26] shadows that are running things. This [20:29] this administration is firmly [20:31] pro-capitalism [20:32] and it it abhors what's going on with [20:35] the Democratic Socialists. I only say [20:37] that because Tucker uh [20:39] has talked very effusively of Grand [20:42] Platon. [20:43] And the Socialists agenda. [20:45] >> Uh now I'm unaware of that. Did you Can [20:48] you repeat that cuz I can't hardly [20:50] believe what you just said. [20:51] >> Yeah, he said he was going to have him [20:53] on his show. He'd like to interview him. [20:55] And so it's part of this um [20:58] new Republican new right uh it's [21:03] it there was very good things that [21:04] people like Oren Cass and people did [21:06] that called for [21:08] a redirection of attention to closing [21:10] the border and helping the [21:12] the white working class that was [21:14] forgotten by globalization. [21:17] But [21:18] >> Here, on that let me just comment here. [21:20] Uh [21:21] Eric being surprised [21:24] about Tucker's affinity for Glenn [21:26] Greenwald surprised me. [21:28] Because it shouldn't be surprising at [21:30] all. Tucker isn't really a conservative. [21:32] He's a populist and a nationalist. And [21:36] and a lot of his actual instincts now [21:40] some populist nationalists are also [21:41] conservatives, but I don't think [21:42] Tucker's a conservative. [21:44] I don't think he's on the right. A lot [21:46] of his instincts are standard issue [21:48] leftist attitudes. Suspicion of capital [21:52] uh suspicion of Israel [21:55] uh these are standard left-wing [21:57] positions. [21:59] And in many ways Tucker I I think leans [22:01] left. So, wanting to sit down with [22:03] democratic uh democratic socialist like [22:05] Greenwald isn't a departure for Tucker. [22:07] It's actually consistent with who he is. [22:10] The only thing surprising is that people [22:12] still consider him part of the right. [22:15] And um [22:16] let's let's finish up this clip. [22:18] >> The next step beyond that [22:21] uh is sort of a quasi-socialism [22:24] and you tie that in with the Jews [22:27] running Wall Street and the financiers [22:29] and the disloyal uh big techies and all [22:33] of that stuff. [22:34] So, he's got to [22:36] I I I think he's going to have to come [22:38] out and just say [22:40] I want to reiterate my support for the [22:42] Donald Trump agenda both economically, [22:44] culturally, socially, politically, and [22:46] in foreign affairs. [22:48] And um I don't I I do think his forte is [22:52] domestic affairs. He's 42 years old. I [22:55] don't think [22:57] uh [22:57] >> He's talking about J.D. Vance now. [22:58] >> Yeah, yes. I wouldn't have put him put [23:01] him in that spot. Maybe Let me phrase it [23:03] that way. I wouldn't have put him in [23:04] that spot of being a chief negotiator [23:07] over the Iran deal when you have [23:09] somebody like Rubio and others in the [23:11] State Department. Because what he said [23:14] about [23:15] uh trusting or hoping that you that he's [23:18] found moderates among the Iranian [23:20] delegation [23:22] that that's just a complete uh amnesia [23:25] of the last 47 years of of both [23:27] Democrats and Republicans who've dealt [23:29] with that regime. There is There is no [23:32] moderate group. If there are moderate [23:34] group, they're going to be shot in Iran. [23:36] That just It's like saying there's a [23:37] moderate Nazi group or there's a [23:39] moderate group around Stalin. Doesn't [23:42] exist. [23:47] >> Okay. [23:48] Uh look, I actually [23:51] actually think the the Iran comment from [23:53] Vance saying that [23:55] you know, there're reasonable people, [23:57] moderates in the in the negotiating team [24:00] it it brings us back to the you know, to [24:01] the beginning [24:04] you know, to the beginning of this. [24:05] The the the moderates in in Iran idea is [24:08] the same instinct as Tucker becoming an [24:10] apologist for political Islam. And this [24:11] is why I say that J.D. Vance might [24:13] actually have an affinity for the whole [24:16] Tucker [24:17] wing and their whole way of thinking. [24:19] Because again, one of the most [24:21] disturbing aspects of Tucker and Candace [24:25] uh and others there and and Megan is now [24:27] joined in is this is this is they become [24:30] apologists for political Islam. [24:34] And [24:35] so I see a through line here where [24:37] they're just not seeing clearly about [24:39] the civilizational [24:41] battle that we're in. [24:43] Um [24:46] you know, that you assume that the [24:47] ideology this [24:49] I mean, the Iranian regime ideology is [24:52] you know, to look at it and say that [24:54] there's a reasonable wing that you can [24:55] do business with [24:57] is [24:59] is very delusional. [25:01] You know, [25:03] when Tucker [25:04] Tucker spoke at a conference in Riyadh [25:06] not long ago. I've mentioned this a few [25:08] times. [25:10] And he said from the stage [25:13] and this was I think the exact quote, [25:15] "As a Christian, I feel totally [25:16] comfortable here in the seat of Islam in [25:19] Saudi Arabia." [25:20] And Saudi Arabia is one of the worst [25:22] persecutors of Christians on the planet. [25:23] There's about 2 million Christians in [25:25] Saudi Arabia and they are the among the [25:27] most persecuted Christians in the world. [25:30] I'm not going to go through the whole [25:31] litany of ways they're persecuted, but [25:33] according to Open Doors International, [25:34] which is the [25:35] uh the Christian NGO that tracks [25:38] persecution of Christians around the [25:39] world, Saudi Arabia is one of the worst [25:41] places in the world for Christians. [25:44] And Tucker sat there on stage and said, [25:46] "I feel totally comfortable here." He [25:47] was He was He was being an apologist for [25:50] the Saudi Arabian regime [25:53] on that issue of Christianity. [25:58] So, when J.D. Vance [26:00] Now, I I I think Tucker is being is more [26:02] devious. I don't think Vance is a [26:04] devious person. [26:06] But, looking at these regimes and seeing [26:09] moderation where there isn't any [26:13] um [26:14] that's what's disturbing here. Anyway, [26:16] that's the clip I wanted to share with [26:17] you. Victor Davis Hanson, Eric Metaxas, [26:20] they get a lot right, but I think [26:21] they're missing Again, just to review, [26:24] they're missing how toxic toxic red line [26:26] drawing [26:27] on the right has become. I don't think [26:29] they realize how toxic it is. Anything [26:31] that even [26:33] smells like [26:35] canceling certain parts or or or or [26:38] making rules [26:40] is just absolutely rejected. [26:42] And I think they're also underestimating [26:45] how much Charlie Kirk was actually [26:46] holding the coalition together before he [26:48] died. Or maybe they're just not they're [26:49] not touching on that topic, but it's [26:50] something I think about a lot. Anyway, [26:52] let me know what you think in the [26:53] comments of this video. [26:55] Uh and uh I'm interested and I do read [26:57] as many of the comments as I can. I make [26:59] time every day to read comments on the [27:01] videos.
