Transcript [00:00] The enemy government, which Hamas is for [00:02] want of a better word, has deliberately [00:05] wanted the sacrifice of its own [00:07] population. And actually, I would rather [00:09] use the term human sacrifice rather than [00:12] human shields. [00:16] >> So, the mayor of America's largest city [00:19] said recently that the prime minister of [00:22] Israel is a war criminal and the [00:24] architect [music] of a genocide. [00:26] >> The idea that Israel [00:28] carried out any form of genocide is an [00:30] absolutely preposterous suggestion. So, [00:33] if Netanyahu is guilty of war crime, [00:34] then Churchill was certainly guilty of [00:36] war crimes, Obama was guilty of war [00:38] crimes, and I know for sure that if the [00:40] IDF wanted to eliminate the population [00:43] of Gaza, it could easily have done so. [00:44] But But when you're actually on the [00:46] ground commanding [music] troops, it's a [00:48] it's very often, probably more normally, [00:50] it's a split-second decision that you [00:52] have to take. [00:53] And of course, mistakes are made. I've [00:55] made many mistakes during my military [00:57] career. I was in Gaza on one occasion [01:00] when the IDF were planning a an attack [01:03] against [01:05] a high-value terrorist position. And I [01:07] attended the I attended the the planning [01:10] meeting [01:11] that took place in advance of that [01:13] strike. [01:14] And it [01:15] the the planning meeting went on for [01:17] probably about an hour to an hour and a [01:19] half. And at least half of that time in [01:21] planning this strike was taken up by the [01:24] commanders trying to work out [01:26] how best [01:28] to carry out the to to effectively carry [01:30] out their attack while minimizing the [01:32] civilian population. And the only the [01:34] only thing I think Israel could do to [01:36] counter all that, it it could do three [01:39] things. One, next time it [music] gets [01:41] attacked, it doesn't defend itself. Two, [01:44] next time its enemies want some of its [01:47] territory, it gives it to them. And [01:49] three, get on the cattle trucks. Israel [01:52] is stronger than it ever has been [01:53] before. In my view, Israel's got an [01:55] extremely bright future. [01:57] Israel is going to overcome all of this.
"I would rather use the term human sacrifice rather than human shield."
