Transcript [00:00] Me? [00:01] I think it's over. [00:03] I don't want to deal with them anymore. [00:04] They're scum. You know what scum is? [00:06] They're scum. They're [music] sick [00:07] people. They're led by sick people. [00:10] And they're they're vicious, violent [00:12] people. [00:13] And if they had a nuclear weapon, they'd [00:15] use it. As far as I'm concerned, it's [00:17] over. I'll speak to our negotiators. [00:19] They want to negotiate. They're good [00:20] people. [00:22] Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner. [00:24] But they have to come back to me. [00:26] As far as I'm concerned, it's just a [00:28] waste of time dealing with them. They're [00:29] liars. I like that idea, sure. [00:33] This way, if it works out, I'm going to [00:34] take the credit. If it doesn't work out, [00:35] I'm blaming JD. You better be careful, [00:38] JD. [00:40] >> Rabbi Wolicki, as always, an honor. [00:41] Thank you. [00:43] >> Honor to be with you, Erin. [00:45] >> I want to talk about JD Vance and Joe [00:48] Rogan, but not a blow-by-blow. That's [00:50] been done. And by the way, if you [00:51] haven't seen that in detail, watch Rabbi [00:54] Wolicki going through it, because that's [00:56] brilliant. We can't emulate that kind of [00:58] analysis and greatness. So, thank you [01:00] for that. What I want to do with you now [01:01] is look at a couple of key parts, but [01:04] the broader implications [01:06] for JD Vance and his presidential [01:08] prospects, for the Republican Party, for [01:10] America, for Trump, for Israel, and also [01:13] at the tactics that you have so cleverly [01:16] identified that he is using. Let's start [01:19] by looking at the bit that you have [01:20] identified as the most problematic, the [01:23] most troubling, the most what the hell. [01:26] Let's watch now, quickly. [01:28] >> And again, with limitations. Like when [01:30] the Iranians hit ships, the president [01:31] has been willing to knock the hell out [01:32] of the Iranians in response. This is not [01:34] just a negotiation. It's negotiation, [01:37] it's military, it's all these things. [01:38] But I know with beyond a shadow of a [01:40] doubt that there have been people within [01:42] the Israeli government who are trying to [01:45] like actually shift us away from that [01:48] policy, because they want to continue [01:50] the military campaign. [01:52] And by the way, like there are people [01:53] within their government that I love, [01:54] I've have relationships with. I hope, [01:57] and I don't think that they're part of [01:59] this. I mean, you know, the the [02:00] ambassador of of Israel to the United [02:03] States, I think is actually really good [02:04] guy. Obviously, he cares about Israel [02:06] first. I care about America first. [02:08] But, there are some people within their [02:10] system, we know beyond a shadow of a [02:11] doubt, who are [02:13] manipulating and trying to change [02:17] American public opinion to keep the war [02:19] going on indefinitely. Again, not [02:21] towards any objective, but just [02:23] indefinitely. [02:26] >> So, that's the first bit you sent me, [02:27] Rabbi. [02:28] >> Okay, good. [02:30] >> Rabbi, particularly the end bit you say [02:33] your thoughts. [02:34] >> I just wanted to say the biggest thank [02:37] you to all of those who have supported [02:39] Meir Panim since we started talking [02:41] about the incredible work that they are [02:43] doing. [music] Over 650,000 [02:46] warm meals they provide each year. [02:48] Nothing works the way it used to in [02:50] Israel. A lot of people are struggling [02:52] financially. [music] A lot of businesses [02:53] have shut down in the aftermath. Kids [02:55] are having to go off and join the IDF. [02:56] Families are mourning and grieving. Some [02:58] can't even afford to feed their kids. [03:00] That is heartbreaking [music] looking at [03:02] your child's eyes and knowing they're [03:03] hungry and not being able to do a thing. [03:04] And this is what Meir Panim does. [03:07] I've also received some screenshots from [03:09] some of you showing [music] me that [03:11] you've been giving [03:12] it it makes me really emotional. Thank [03:14] you. Thank [music] you. Thank you. You [03:15] guys are incredible. I love to know that [03:17] we're helping make a difference. So, if [03:19] you are able to give, it doesn't matter [03:20] whether it's big or small. Every little [03:22] bit helps. [03:23] Let me know. Send me a direct [03:25] >> [music] [03:25] >> message. Again, just wanted to say a [03:26] massive thank you to everyone. [03:30] >> You know, when he said there that those [03:32] who were opposed to the MOU, [03:35] that there's elements in the Israeli [03:37] government who want war indefinitely. [03:41] And then, it wasn't just a slip of the [03:43] tongue or some kind of, you know, [03:44] hyperbole in the moment because he then [03:46] doubled down and re-emphasized the point [03:48] to Joe. You see at the end of the the [03:50] where he [03:51] not for any specific objective, not for [03:55] any defined objective, but indefinitely. [03:58] Now, [04:00] this is [04:02] I mean, it's it's basically a blood [04:03] libel. Like, what is he saying about us? [04:05] There is not a single Israeli. There is [04:08] not a single Israeli. I don't care how [04:10] extreme and and how right-wing [04:14] an Israeli are. Let's say we're totally [04:15] expansionist in our goals, you know, the [04:17] the greater Israel project, all of the [04:19] conspiracy theories are true. Let's say, [04:21] still nobody wants war indefinitely [04:23] here. The goal the goal of Israel is to [04:27] end the indefinite war that has been [04:29] waged against us for decades, since the [04:33] founding of the state of Israel. The [04:35] That is That's the goal. The goal is [04:36] once and for all to stop with the half [04:39] measures and stopping short of actually [04:42] defeating our enemies and be done with [04:44] it. Get You know, that's that's the [04:46] goal. It's anything but indefinite war. [04:48] If you want indefinite war, a great way [04:50] to get indefinite war, Aaron, a great [04:53] way is to continue to make deals like [04:55] this and continue to throw bones and [04:58] pretend that the incentives that that [05:01] motivate these jihadists are the same as [05:03] Westerners and if you just have the [05:05] right, you know, have the right dialogue [05:07] and the right economic incentives, [05:09] everyone's going to behave themselves. [05:10] That's a recipe for indefinite war. It [05:13] It's offensive. It's offensive and it's [05:15] not true. There is no one who wants [05:17] indefinite war. [05:19] >> He said and the word explicitly, that is [05:22] their position explicitly. I mean, [05:28] >> saying that we should not be negotiating [05:31] with Iran, we should just keep the [05:33] military campaign going indefinitely and [05:36] that is that is their explicit position. [05:38] And coming [05:39] >> And again, peace through strength, that [05:41] the president refers to that constantly. [05:44] This ain't peace through strength. [05:46] You're spot-on. The second part of this [05:48] that that I mean [05:50] all of it was [05:51] so poorly done. I don't know why he [05:54] continues to do media, but I I'm almost [05:56] a fan of it because it exposes him. But [05:58] this was the second part where he chose [06:00] to blame Israel and apparently this [06:01] coordinated paid campaign. [06:04] And I saw something that that led into [06:06] this prior to this interview where [06:08] someone made the point when we announced [06:10] this memorandum of understanding, we [06:11] expected to have a lot of positive [06:13] responses, but all of it suddenly we [06:15] were mind-blown that there was a lot of [06:17] negativity. How could anyone have been [06:19] surprised by the reaction to a a [06:21] memorandum of understanding with [06:23] terrorists? That was the obvious [06:25] response. You don't need to pay me a [06:26] cent to say the deal sucked. And the [06:28] fact it's fallen apart is proof and [06:31] testament to that. Let's watch this part [06:33] though where he blames Israel [06:35] essentially for his failing. Go. [06:38] >> But I I definitely think you have seen [06:40] this very discreet, extremely [06:43] well-funded campaign to try to derail [06:46] the negotiation and try to derail the [06:48] deal. And you know, there was again [06:50] there's this time article that came out [06:52] yesterday. A friend sent it to me. [06:54] It's like worth reading because it lists [06:57] a bunch of people who have quite [06:59] literally been paid [07:01] by a former Trump campaign person who [07:05] was himself paid by certain elements [07:08] within the Israeli government. And those [07:10] people are attacking me viciously for [07:12] quite literally trying to accomplish the [07:14] negotiation objective that the president [07:16] set for the country. So [07:18] >> What is their position? Like they're [07:19] attacking you how? [07:20] >> Oh, it's it's social media posts. It's [07:23] you know, they're leaking to reporters. [07:25] They're attacking me obsessively saying [07:27] that we should not be negotiating with [07:29] Iran. We should just keep the military [07:31] campaign going indefinitely. And that is [07:34] that is their explicit position. And [07:36] coming after me saying that you know, [07:38] people have come after me and say that [07:39] I'm influenced by Qatar, that I'm [07:42] influenced by foreign governments, that [07:44] you know, I take my marching orders from [07:45] Tucker Carlson, and there's just so much [07:48] out there. When what I'm [07:50] actually trying to do is accomplish what [07:52] the President of the United States told [07:53] me to accomplish, which is a settlement [07:56] of this that accomplishes our [07:58] objectives. [07:59] Iran doesn't have nuclear weapon, we [08:01] have the free flow of oil and gas. And [08:03] and and like I should be clear, [08:05] um [08:06] you know, [08:08] like I don't actually mind [08:10] I don't mind that [08:13] the [08:15] you know, let's say certain elements of [08:17] the Israeli government want to criticize [08:19] the deal or have disagreements about the [08:21] deal. [08:22] I don't even mind an effort to try to [08:25] influence, you know, foreign governments [08:27] try to influence the United States all [08:29] the time. You know, Israel does it, [08:30] other countries do it. It's just sort of [08:32] the nature of the beast. What bothers me [08:35] is actually when Americans [08:38] allow, meaning American leadership, [08:41] allows that influence to affect their [08:44] judgment and to affect what they're [08:47] advocating for. That's what really [08:48] bothers me. People are always going to [08:50] try to influence the United States of [08:52] America, whether they're allies of ours [08:53] or whether they're enemies of ours. [08:55] But again, when I open up the pages of [08:58] Time magazine and I see that there's a [09:01] literal foreign influence campaign being [09:03] funded to tank the very deal that I was [09:06] pursuing, and oh by the way, many of the [09:08] people who were receiving that money [09:10] were actually attacking me in completely [09:12] dishonest ways, you know, my response to [09:14] that is, well, go to hell. I'm going to [09:16] do what I have to do for the American [09:17] people. I represent Americans first. [09:22] >> Rabbi, it's it's I mean, it's a tale as [09:24] old as time, isn't it? [09:26] >> Aaron, you know, when you were teeing up [09:29] this clip, you were talking about the [09:30] flaws of how it was obvious to everyone [09:33] to see the flaws of the memorandum of [09:34] understanding. But what J.D. Vance did [09:36] here in this clip is much craftier than [09:38] that. [09:39] Because he [09:40] he he he went right to them person that [09:44] the these paid influencers were [09:46] personally attacking him. [09:48] Which I don't believe is true. I don't [09:50] think anyone has anything personal [09:51] against J.D. Vance. [09:53] And this is a classic left-wing tactic. [09:56] One of the big distinguishing marks and [10:00] I say this proudly as a political [10:01] conservative that we like to say of [10:04] ourselves as the on the political right [10:06] is that we are interested in issues and [10:08] we are interested in facts and we are [10:10] interested in real arguments and we [10:12] correctly disparage the left for always [10:16] straw manning us by saying that you know [10:18] that it's this is offensive or this is a [10:20] personal attack, which is a deflection [10:22] play. [10:23] The opposition to the memorandum of [10:25] understanding from all quarters and yes, [10:27] we were angry about it and yes, we were [10:29] vocal about it, but the opposition was [10:31] entirely about the content of the [10:34] memorandum of understanding and J.D. [10:36] Vance pays zero [10:38] he gives zero credit even to his [10:40] detractors you know meaning even when [10:43] Joe Rogan in that clip says to him, so [10:45] what were what was their argument? What [10:47] was their argument, right? He doesn't [10:48] then say their argument was that you [10:52] know, we gave too much to the Iranians [10:55] without demanding enough, that we didn't [10:57] have it there was nothing definite about [10:59] the nuclear program. [11:00] >> the terrorists a lifeline to survive. [11:03] >> Well, for sure no he didn't meaning I [11:05] wouldn't expect him to fully accurately [11:08] say his opponent's position just like if [11:10] I said to you know, you know, what are [11:11] those who who argue with you say, you [11:13] know, we tend to bias it a little bit. I [11:15] understand that. I wouldn't expect him [11:17] to say it the way I would. But, he went [11:20] right he he didn't even address the the [11:23] the opposition to the MOU [11:26] in terms substantively, which all of the [11:28] criticism was. It was all substantive [11:31] criticism. This reminds me way back when [11:33] the MOU was first signed and [11:36] and there were and there were a lot of [11:37] people in Israel who were upset about [11:39] it, J.D. Vance in his first press [11:41] conference about the about it was asked [11:43] about the criticism coming out of from [11:45] Israel. He was actually asked [11:47] specifically about the about the the [11:49] reports that Prime Minister Netanyahu [11:50] was upset about it. [11:52] And he said in that press conference [11:56] that there were members of the cabinet [11:58] of of Bibi's cabinet who were attacking [12:01] President Trump on a personal level for [12:04] the MOU. [12:05] >> That's saying something to somebody else [12:07] that he's not saying to me. What I will [12:08] say, and this does bother me, is that [12:11] you have seen people within Bibi's [12:13] cabinet who have come out and attacked [12:15] the deal and in some ways very [12:17] personally attacked the President of the [12:19] United States. And I guess my message to [12:21] them would be twofold. [12:23] Number one, Donald J. Trump is the only [12:26] head of state in the entire world who is [12:30] sympathetic to the nation of Israel at [12:32] this moment in time. And he happens to [12:34] be the head of state of the world's [12:36] superpower. If I was in the cabinet of [12:38] the Israeli government, I might not be [12:40] attacking the only powerful ally that I [12:44] have anywhere left in the entire world. [12:46] And the second message I would give to [12:48] some of those cabinet members, Bibi, to [12:50] his credit, has not gone down this path, [12:52] but to some of these cabinet members in [12:54] Israel who are attacking the President [12:55] of the United States, the other thing [12:56] that I would say is that over the last 3 [12:58] months [13:00] >> [clears throat] [13:00] >> 2/3 of the defensive weapons that have [13:03] protected your homeland have been built [13:06] by American hands and paid for by [13:08] American tax dollars. The problem for [13:11] Israel is not Donald J. Trump. And [13:14] anybody in Israel who thinks their [13:16] biggest problem is the President of the [13:17] United States needs to wake up and smell [13:20] the reality of the situation that [13:23] country is in. [13:23] >> That was false. The The cabinet members [13:26] in Israel, their public statements are [13:28] all very easily accessible and at the [13:30] time I remember I wasn't the only one [13:31] people search and it was totally false [13:34] but it was the same leftist tactic [13:36] rather than deal with the substance of [13:37] the argument. I'm going to I'm going to [13:39] frame it as a personal attack which [13:42] itself automatically [13:44] delegitimizes it in in political [13:46] discourse. It's a straw man argument and [13:48] JD Vance does this all the time. [13:50] >> But it's like Kamala Harris saying that [13:53] she wasn't elected because she's black [13:54] and she's a woman. No, it's cuz you [13:57] sucked. You were horrific but she turns [13:59] it into something that she can't be held [14:01] to account for. [14:03] It's cheap and it's an easy way out. [14:05] I'll tell you something that's not cheap [14:07] it it's hilarious. Of course the Babylon [14:09] B did a headline off the back of JD [14:11] Vance's interview with Joe Rogan and it [14:13] said brilliant politician JD Vance [14:16] secures vote of 100% of nations Tucker [14:19] Carlson's. [14:21] >> [laughter] [14:21] >> Because I'm trying to imagine Rabbi [14:25] who that would appeal to and who would [14:28] say consume those 3 hours and say he's [14:31] my man. And look I'm not American. [14:34] I I don't you know claim to be but I [14:36] struggle to see how that helps him [14:39] except for that tiny group of people [14:41] that we cover often when we chat that [14:44] woke right brigade. [14:46] >> Well and it's a shrinking group. But [14:49] to here's probably what he's thinking. [14:51] First of all he's probably ideologically [14:53] part of that camp, okay? At this point [14:56] we have because the lack of political [14:58] wisdom [15:00] the lack of political wisdom that he's [15:02] been displaying [15:03] for quite some time is is it's shocking. [15:06] I mean we've talked about this Aaron. He [15:08] is a political novice. We have to [15:10] remember he's in way over his head. I [15:12] mean I'm just saying this purely as a as [15:14] as a political [15:16] as an observation. I mean he's his [15:18] entire political career before being [15:20] nominated before being chosen by Trump [15:23] to be his running mate, was a year and a [15:26] half, a little less than a year and a [15:27] half as a senator. That's it. That's his [15:31] entire career as a legislator, as as a [15:33] politician. And he because before that [15:35] he was he had he had written a [15:36] best-selling book. He He had gone to [15:38] Yale Law School. He had served in the [15:40] Marines. He worked for Peter Thiel for [15:41] for a little bit. I mean, he didn't have [15:43] a political career before that. And his [15:45] his lack of of depth politically, his [15:48] lack of understanding of electoral [15:50] politics because you know, you raised [15:52] the this Babylon B [15:54] headline as always they're touching on a [15:57] fundamental truth. Which which is that [16:00] even if we concede the point that among [16:03] younger conservatives there is a shift [16:05] away from Israel and there is a larger [16:07] percentage of them who are not [16:08] pro-Israel. That is correct. Although [16:10] it's a very mushy, shifty population and [16:14] I think it's actually shifting back in [16:15] our direction right now. That's another [16:16] topic. Uh you know, [16:19] there's still a sizable portion there. [16:20] He looks at them and says, that's the [16:22] future. I'm going to go there. The [16:24] problem is from an electoral [16:26] perspective, they're [16:28] it's such a young population that [16:30] they're still a small percentage of the [16:31] Republican Party. And that's why in all [16:33] the polling of the Republican Party, [16:35] there's still overwhelming support for [16:38] Israel and and support for Trump for the [16:41] war in in Iran. But again, the most [16:43] shocking thing about all of this is that [16:45] his his inab- his his inability to see [16:49] any flaw in the memorandum of [16:52] understanding and to blame it on Israel. [16:53] And think about this. Think about this, [16:55] Aaron. [16:57] Why did the memorandum of understanding [16:58] fall apart? [17:00] It fell apart because the Iranians [17:02] started shelling ships in the Strait of [17:04] Hormuz. It had nothing to do with any [17:07] influence campaign. Meaning zero. [17:10] Zero to do with any because from from a [17:13] perspective of a pro-Israel advocate, [17:15] the memorandum was signed, Trump then [17:17] got behind it. We were all like, what on [17:19] earth is going on? But it was moving [17:21] forward. They then had the Lucerne [17:23] conference where they moved forward to [17:26] a second set of [17:28] understandings based on the memorandum. [17:29] They were progressing through this. The [17:31] only reason it fell apart is because is [17:34] is for the reasons that we said it would [17:35] fall apart, which is that Iran doesn't [17:37] adhere to anything that they sign and [17:38] and the and it was a silly deal. [17:41] Is Is he blaming that on Israel? [17:44] >> It's It's Well, it's the same as blaming [17:46] Israel for Hezbollah attacking them [17:49] non-stop since the ceasefire. Saying, [17:52] Israel, you just got to stop. You just [17:54] got to pull back. You know, if only [17:55] Israel would behave. What What do you [17:58] see as the impact of this? Does it have [18:01] any impact on US-Israel relations? Is he [18:04] influential enough to shift anyone's [18:07] perspective who counts? [18:12] >> Here, you know, [18:14] I I don't think this interview with Joe [18:16] Rogan won him any new supporters. [18:19] Let's put it that way. I don't think it [18:20] I don't think there's anyone who wasn't [18:23] in the J.D. Vance camp and because of [18:25] this Joe Rogan interview is now in that [18:27] camp. Let's look at it that way. It's [18:29] similar to the conversation that we had [18:30] a while back about about Tucker and [18:32] Candace and like, are they gaining any [18:34] new followers at this point or are they [18:36] only slicing off portions of their [18:38] audience? So, when J.D. Vance does [18:40] things like this, I I just think it it [18:42] reminds people what how amateur she is. [18:45] And you know, the contrast was so stark [18:48] that this dropped on the same day that [18:50] that Secretary of State Rubio, which [18:51] everyone assumes is going to be the [18:53] other the other potential presidential [18:55] candidate, was leading this conference [18:58] on on on on left-wing terrorism that was [19:02] and that was that brought together [19:04] people from all over the world and he [19:05] gave a remarkable speech of talking [19:08] about [19:09] talking with clarity about how globally [19:12] that the left-wing violence in America [19:15] and Islamic terrorism around the world [19:17] are all part of the same problem. [19:19] Without naming the red-green alliance, [19:21] he showed a kind of [19:23] larger worldview, which really reflects [19:25] the reality. People who see clearly know [19:28] that if you're worried about Sharia [19:30] taking over Texas and you're worried [19:32] about what's happening in Europe with [19:34] the Muslim takeover or what's happening [19:35] in your country, Aaron. [19:37] And [19:38] the Muslims who are slaughtering [19:40] Christians in Nigeria and October 7th [19:43] and Iran, these are all one battle. [19:46] These are This is all one struggle for [19:48] Western civilization. And that clarity [19:50] was so or was so beautifully articulated [19:53] by Marco Rubio yesterday. You hold that [19:55] up with the contrast of this of this you [19:58] know, juvenile [20:00] you know, juvenile petulant you know, [20:01] like the it's like a temper tantrum like [20:03] oh, they didn't like my deal. That So, [20:05] that's it That becomes a personal [20:07] attack. There was no personal attacks [20:08] against J.D. Vance. There was an attack [20:10] on a deal that was meaning it it If you [20:13] can't take the heat, get out of the [20:14] kitchen, right? If you're going to make [20:15] a deal and you're going to cut Israel [20:17] out of it and you're going to and and [20:19] Israel's not not in the room and and the [20:21] Israelis didn't even see an advanced [20:23] copy of it. And then as soon as it was [20:24] announced, Prime Minister Netanyahu [20:25] said, "We're not party to this." And [20:27] then you're going to blame [20:30] You're going to blame pro-Israel people [20:32] who said this is a bad deal? [20:34] >> Like [20:34] if you can be influ- if if this deal can [20:37] fall apart because of a handful of [20:39] online influencers, what kind of deal is [20:41] that? I I'd start with I want to play a [20:43] little clip of Rubio's speech for my [20:45] audience, Rabbi. [20:47] >> More than 80% of radical violence is now [20:49] driven by far left and anarchist actors. [20:52] These These are not abstract statistics. [20:56] Americans have seen what those numbers [20:57] mean. [20:59] An all-out assault on our immigration [21:00] officers, sniper attacks, explosives, [21:03] armed ambushes, [21:05] a transgender shooter opening fire on [21:07] Catholic elementary school students as [21:09] they pray. His gun marked with slogans [21:12] like, "Where is your God now?" [21:16] A healthcare executive [21:18] executed [21:19] in cold blood in the streets. [21:22] Multiple assassination attempts on a [21:24] sitting president and the murder of the [21:26] greatest conservative activist of a [21:28] generation. [21:29] A man who happened also be a husband and [21:32] the father of two young children [21:34] shot and killed while speaking to a [21:36] crowd of students. [21:38] This is a distinctive and unique evil. [21:41] It has always been driven by a hatred, [21:44] above all else, a hatred for [21:46] civilization itself. [21:48] It is a revolt of the worst against the [21:50] best. [21:51] A revolt of the weak and the cowardly [21:54] against the strong and the good. [21:57] It is perpetrated by those who cannot [21:58] build [21:59] who cannot create who cannot achieve [22:02] great things [22:03] and take their revenge upon the world [22:05] for their own inadequacy by seeking to [22:07] destroy those who can. [22:11] This is what radical leftism is. [22:13] It may wear various different slogans [22:15] and ideologies across place and time. [22:18] They can call themselves anti-capitalist [22:20] or anti-imperialist or communist or [22:23] anarchist or Marxist, but the [22:25] fundamental character is always the [22:26] same. It's always the same. It is a [22:29] poisonous resentment [22:31] cloaked in the language of equality and [22:33] justice and liberation, an overwhelming [22:36] need to tear down what greater men have [22:38] built, to wreck what is beautiful and [22:41] what is right on behalf of people who [22:44] are only filled with ugliness and have [22:46] nothing else to offer the world. [22:48] Through violence and through terror [22:51] they once again seek to impose their [22:53] ugliness [22:54] on all of us. [22:57] >> Before we go, a couple of other things I [22:59] want to hit on and I I ask you this, [23:02] Rabbi, because and I don't know if I've [23:04] given you credit or if I've seen you [23:05] since, but you made that incredible [23:08] prediction regarding this war and how [23:10] Netanyahu and Trump with their two [23:12] vested interests would clash. And this [23:14] is prior to any reported clash. And it [23:18] literally I think it was two or three [23:19] days later [23:21] blew up. You're very good at this. I [23:24] want to ask you, moving forward, looking [23:26] at J.D. Vance, looking at Rubio and [23:28] Trump, put yourself in Trump's mind. I [23:31] mean, he loves [23:32] this kind of competition, I think. He He [23:35] loves pitting people against each other. [23:36] He does it publicly. There are reports [23:38] about how he did it with Rupert Murdoch [23:40] in a room and he said to Rupert, "Who [23:41] would you pick? Who do you like more?" [23:43] Uh by the way, he picked Rubio, smart [23:45] man in some ways. [23:47] Not in Not in all ways. [23:49] >> Marco does it with a velvet glove, but [23:51] it's a kill. Trust. [23:55] The The result is the same. They do it [23:57] very differently. [23:59] And Marco, you really did yourself proud [24:01] 2 days ago in Munich. [24:04] In fact, so proud that I almost [24:06] terminated his employee [24:08] because they were saying, "Why can't [24:10] Trump do this?" [24:12] I do, but I say it differently. [24:15] But Marco, uh [24:17] don't do any better than you did, [24:18] please. [24:19] Cuz if you do, you're out of here. [24:22] But no, he got it was I want my guys to [24:25] do great. And the acclaim he's gotten [24:27] and the acclaim J.D. gets is uh is [24:30] great. We have smart people. [24:32] >> How do you think Trump views what is [24:34] going on at the moment? Even just the [24:36] J.D. Vance with Rogan. [24:39] And how does he play this moving forward [24:41] because he's obviously got his son, [24:43] Junior, who is a big fan of J.D. and [24:45] advocates heavily for him. Where do you [24:47] think Trump's head is at? [24:49] >> Well, it's not just his son. It's also [24:50] his son-in-law. Jared is Jared and Vance [24:53] and Witkoff uh seem to be a kind of uh [24:55] three musketeers who were the ones [24:57] pushing more negotiations. [24:59] But we can see that you know, how Trump [25:02] treated the MOU and how and what role [25:05] Rubio played. Right after the MOU was [25:07] signed, [25:08] Rubio flew to the Gulf [25:10] and he had a summit meeting with the [25:12] heads of the Gulf states. [25:14] And at that summit meeting, they issued [25:16] a statement, a joint statement of all [25:17] the attendees, [25:19] which basically without naming the MOU, [25:22] it pushed back on the MOU. It [25:26] did a few things. In In that statement, [25:27] the So, reading between the lines, you [25:30] could see that the Gulf states were [25:31] actually very upset about the MOU. Um [25:34] they they said openly that they were not [25:36] consulted on the contents of it. Even in [25:39] the MOU, it says that the Gulf partners [25:41] are going to be brought into an [25:42] investment fund to help rebuild Iran [25:44] after the war of $300 billion and the [25:47] Gulf states themselves, their their [25:49] foreign ministers, the Saudi foreign [25:51] minister the next day was quoted as [25:52] saying we have no idea what you're [25:53] talking about, we're not investing in [25:54] Iran. [25:55] But the Gulf states put out a statement [25:57] saying that we have to dismantle the [25:59] proxy networks, that we have to that you [26:01] know, that Iran's ballistic missile [26:03] program has to be dealt with. Two issues [26:05] that were not mentioned in the MOU and [26:07] that Iran can have no say in the Straits [26:09] of Hormuz, whereas in the MOU, it gives [26:11] them a say in the Straits of Hormuz. It [26:12] basically walked it back. So, you see, [26:14] reading between the lines, Rubio was [26:16] sent to the Gulf states to clean up the [26:18] mess that the MOU created. And then he [26:21] went to Lebanon. He didn't go to [26:22] Lebanon, but he then brokered the deal [26:24] between Israel and Lebanon, which walked [26:26] back another piece of the MOU. And now [26:28] if we if we fast forward a few more [26:30] weeks to where we are today, you can see [26:32] that Trump has watched the MOU fall [26:34] apart, declared it dead, and has now [26:37] basically moved himself into what we [26:39] what we could call the Rubio camp. So, [26:41] judging by behavior, [26:44] Trump basically Here's what I believe [26:45] happened with the MOU and Vance and [26:47] Rubio. I think that that those who were [26:49] pushing for a deal, Vance, Rubio, I'm [26:52] sorry, Vance, Witcoff, Kushner. Trump [26:54] looked at them and said, "Hey guys, [26:56] you think you can make a deal? I don't [26:57] think I don't think any deal is worth [26:59] the paper it's written." This is what I [27:00] believe happened, and this is just my [27:01] own conjecture. That Trump looked at [27:02] them and said, "Okay, go for it. You [27:05] want to make a deal? Make a deal. [27:06] Promise them whatever you want because I [27:08] don't think it's ever it's even going to [27:09] last because I don't trust that the [27:11] Iranians are going to hold to a deal. [27:13] But if you want to make a deal, go ahead [27:14] and make a deal. I'll stand behind it [27:15] and we'll see what happens." And Trump [27:17] jokingly twice twice jokingly said, [27:21] "Hey, if it falls apart, we'll blame [27:22] JD." But Trump [27:24] >> Yeah. [27:24] >> we know Trump well enough that when he [27:25] throws things out like that, he doesn't [27:27] mind taking a little public dig at [27:29] someone. [27:30] And I what So, what I think happened is [27:32] that because then you saw JD out there [27:34] defending defending the deal going on [27:35] every talk show defending the deal. I [27:38] Reading between the lines, I think that [27:39] Trump [27:40] >> selling his book crap and selling his [27:42] book, that was weird. [27:43] >> Yeah. Yeah, I I I think that I think [27:44] that Trump knows exactly what's going on [27:46] here. He understand Look, Rubio is a far [27:48] more substantive person. I don't know if [27:50] there's someone else who's going to [27:51] emerge from the shadows as another [27:53] candidate, but if it's Rubio and Vance, [27:55] and and then there's the issue that I [27:56] once brought up on your show a while [27:58] back that has nothing to do with these [27:59] issues. Rubio is fluent in Spanish, and [28:01] the Republican Party is is bleeding [28:03] Hispanics right now. And Rubio could [28:06] sweep across all those southern states [28:08] doing campaign on the campaign trail in [28:10] Spanish and sweep them off their feet. [28:12] And JD Vance has nothing to offer those [28:14] people. So, [28:15] I just think if I'm a strategist in the [28:18] Republican Party, [28:19] a JD Vance candidacy looks to me like a [28:22] losing proposition. [28:24] >> Uh the other point I just thought of [28:26] when you were going through a couple of [28:28] comments that Trump had made, the irony [28:30] is that as JD's sitting there on Joe [28:32] Rogan saying, you know, that all these [28:35] influencers were essentially responsible [28:37] for the deal falling apart, [28:39] what we and others were saying, and I'm [28:42] no influencer, but I was critical of the [28:44] deal and I I [28:45] deservedly so, [28:47] Trump then said exactly that in his [28:50] public commentary, "They're scumbags. [28:52] You can't do a deal with those kind of [28:53] people, etc. etc." Trump said the exact [28:56] same things that most people with half a [28:58] brain were saying regarding the deal. It [28:59] wasn't personal to J.D. [29:01] He was pulling apart the deal and Trump [29:03] said it himself. Exactly what we were [29:05] saying Trump then said. [29:07] >> And they're wired differently and we're [29:09] not going to put up with it. [29:11] Uh we are just going forward with [29:13] attacking them tonight. [29:15] Uh we're taking out all of their [29:16] capability for [29:18] uh anything having to do with the [29:19] straight with the Hormuz Strait. And I [29:21] think in the end uh we will [29:24] end up discontrolling the whole thing. [29:27] And what they're doing is being very [29:28] foolish, very stupid and they've treated [29:30] people horribly. They've killed 52,000 [29:33] protesters so far that we can determine. [29:36] Uh it might be more than that, but [29:37] 52,000 protesters have been killed. [29:40] And it's really terrible situation. [29:44] >> Maybe Trump is one of those online [29:46] pro-Israel influencers that J.D.'s [29:47] talking about. And look, [29:50] you know, on a serious note, J.D. Vance [29:53] is um [29:55] something happened with this guy because [29:57] if you go back to when he was [29:58] campaigning for Senate earlier in his [30:00] career, he was more pro-Israel. [30:03] Uh you know, someone pointed out to me [30:05] the other day that when he visited [30:06] Israel as a senatorial candidate, he [30:07] went to the Western Wall, put a kippah [30:09] on his head and then he also went to the [30:10] Church of the Holy Sepulchre, etc. [30:13] But when he came as vice president, he [30:14] did not go to the Western Wall. [30:17] >> Yes. [30:17] >> Did not go to the Western Wall. And even [30:19] when he visited City of David and was [30:20] asked about his visit to City of David, [30:22] all he said about it was that he wanted [30:25] to walk on the Pilgrim's Road where [30:27] Jesus walked, which is great. It is a it [30:29] is a very powerful experience for any [30:31] Christian. But [30:33] the City of David, the main thing of the [30:35] City of David is that it's been verified [30:37] as the palace and the city where King [30:40] David where King David built his [30:41] capital. And the only resonance for JD [30:45] Vance that he said publicly was that he [30:47] was walking where Jesus walked. I think [30:48] he was backing away from any anything [30:51] positive about the Jewish nature of of [30:53] Israel. [30:54] >> The other point, I think he was the only [30:56] Republican to miss skip Netanyahu's [30:59] speech as well. And I know it was in the [31:00] midst of a presidential campaign, etc., [31:02] etc. But I was looking at a list of [31:04] those who skipped it. He was the only [31:06] one. [31:07] And look, there may have been a [31:07] legitimate reason for it, but I mean, [31:09] we'll watch with interest. Final [31:11] question, uh Rabbi, I I note that the [31:13] Knesset has now dissolved or whatever [31:15] that the technical term is for that [31:17] heading into a [31:18] uh busy period of of campaigning for [31:21] Israel. What is your prediction when it [31:22] comes to [31:24] uh the next Israeli government and [31:25] Netanyahu's future? [31:28] >> Look, [31:30] there is not going to be a left-wing [31:31] government in Israel. There simply can't [31:33] be. The numbers don't add up. And most [31:36] people outside of Israel who don't [31:38] really understand Israeli politics [31:39] assume because we have a right-wing [31:40] coalition that everyone in the [31:41] opposition is on the left, and it's just [31:43] not true. There are parties that are not [31:45] in the coalition that are to the right [31:46] of Netanyahu. They just don't like [31:48] Netanyahu. [31:49] And there are parties at on in the [31:52] quote-unquote opposition that are Arab [31:53] parties that are openly anti-Israel that [31:55] will never be part of any coalition. [31:57] They're just there to [31:58] you know, to be a nuisance. [32:00] And so because of that, the numbers [32:02] simply don't add up. The The population [32:05] of Israel has moved to the right over [32:06] the last 20 years, and that's why we [32:08] haven't had a left-wing prime minister [32:09] in over 20 years, and we're not going [32:11] to. [32:12] And it's even moved even more to the [32:13] right since October 7th, and we haven't [32:15] had an election since then. [32:17] So, the coalition will be a right-wing [32:19] coalition. It [32:21] In all likelihood, will be headed by [32:22] Prime Minister Netanyahu. And most [32:24] people outside of Israel don't fully [32:25] understand this because the media is [32:27] kind of is covering it in a very in very [32:29] broad strokes, and people don't [32:31] understand the ins and outs of Israeli [32:32] politics. This is This is a much bigger [32:34] question you asked me than you know, [32:36] it's not a quick question. We should [32:37] probably [32:39] So, one of the things that I'm going to [32:40] be doing [32:42] So, a a shameless plug for my channel [32:44] here is that on my YouTube channel, I [32:46] have I just put up a video a couple days [32:48] ago about about the upcoming Israeli [32:51] election, the first one, but I plan to [32:53] cover the Israeli election cycle very [32:57] carefully and really explain to people [32:59] outside of Israel who all the parties [33:01] are, how the system works, and really [33:03] understand the dynamics of what's going [33:04] on in Israel. [33:06] >> Okay, Rabbi, we're going to put a link [33:07] to that first episode you did going [33:09] through the overview, and then my [33:11] audience, I'm sure no doubt, will [33:12] continue to follow your coverage cuz I [33:14] certainly won't be providing in-depth [33:16] analysis cuz I've got donuts of an idea, [33:18] so I'll be watching your channel as [33:19] well. And hopefully we'll have [33:21] >> to come on and discuss it with your [33:22] audience as well as well. [33:23] >> You're amazing. Uh Rabbi, thank you so [33:24] much for your time and for your voice, [33:25] as always. Uh Rabbi, thank you so much [33:26] for your time and for your voice, as [33:28] always. [33:29] >> God bless. [33:30] >> Bless you.
