Transcript [00:00] Hey everyone. So, we're going to talk [00:01] about what's going on in the Gaza Strip. [00:03] Now, I don't mean on the diplomatic side [00:05] with the border of peace and all that. [00:07] We talked about that a lot uh last week, [00:09] especially when Jared Kushner was in the [00:11] region and the whole board of peace [00:13] thing. Uh we're not going to get into [00:14] that. What we are going to get into is [00:16] first just a couple items uh about what [00:19] the IDF has been doing the last couple [00:21] days and what they've been doing really [00:23] for the last while. But then we're going [00:25] to devote most of this video to a [00:27] strange story to outsiders who don't [00:30] really know what's going on here, which [00:32] is uh kites. Kites being flown from Gaza [00:36] into Israel and why they pose a serious [00:38] security threat and why Israel is [00:41] threatening over them. What is so [00:43] dangerous about kites? So, we're going [00:45] to talk about that in this video. So, [00:47] stick around. Let's first hit the uh the [00:49] other headlines of what's going on in [00:50] the Gaza Strip. So, here we have [00:54] A headline, IDF kills Hamas commander, [00:57] strikes weapons production site near [01:00] Gaza aid center. [01:03] Hamas affiliated health officials [01:04] claimed the strikes in communist killed [01:06] two people, including a four a [01:08] four-year-old boy. Now, understand [01:09] something. Every time Israel carries out [01:12] any strike, any strike, they warn in [01:16] advance. They say exactly where they're [01:18] striking and they give everyone plenty [01:21] of time to evacuate. Okay, I'm just I'm [01:24] just putting that out there. Just [01:26] remember that every time you hear that [01:28] someone that some young boy was killed. [01:30] All right, this is from yesterday. The [01:32] IDF and Shinbet, Israel Security Agency, [01:34] killed the terrorist Ismael Abu, [01:38] commander or Abu Fool, commander of a [01:40] weapons production site at Kamas's [01:42] production headquarters. A weapons [01:45] production site. These guys are supposed [01:46] to be talking about disarming. [01:49] He took part in producing charges and [01:51] anti-tank missiles for the terror [01:53] organization. They killed him in a [01:55] strike on the Almagazi area in Gaza. The [01:58] military announced on Sunday, yesterday, [02:00] in addition, the same production site [02:02] which was established near an aid [02:04] distribution point. [02:07] Funny how they do that. Let's set up a [02:09] weapons cons uh a weapons production [02:11] site right next to where they distribute [02:13] aid. probably because these are both uh [02:16] operations that are run by kamas anyway [02:20] um for an international organization and [02:22] it's an aid distribution point for an [02:24] international organization they also [02:25] want to say you know it it's just like [02:27] the human shield strategy let's put the [02:30] weapons production site right next to an [02:31] international aid distribution site [02:35] anyway it was attacked the military said [02:37] calling it an example of kamas's [02:39] systematic use of civilian [02:40] infrastructure for the purpose of [02:42] promoting and executing terrorist plots [02:45] against IDF forces operating in the [02:47] yellow line area [02:49] uh and Israeli citizens. Oh, I mean [02:52] yeah, against IDF forces and Israeli [02:54] citizens. The IDF also referred to [02:55] Kamas's actions as systematically [02:58] violating the ceasefire while attempting [03:00] to restore its military capabilities. [03:02] Okay, that's one story. And then we have [03:04] a story from today, from literally just [03:06] a couple hours ago. IDF says it [03:08] destroyed two kamas weapons depots [03:10] located inside Gaza mosques. The Israeli [03:13] military said it destroyed two kamas [03:15] weapons depots in the Gaza Strip which [03:17] were located inside mosques. The mosques [03:20] in Gaza City and near Abalak were used [03:22] by Hamas to store dozens of assault [03:25] rifles and other weapons. According to [03:26] the IDF, [03:28] quote, "This is another example of [03:29] kamas's systematic exploitation of [03:31] civilian infrastructure, including [03:33] mosques, in violation of international [03:35] law to advance and execute terror [03:37] attacks against IDF troops and Israeli [03:39] civilians. These guys have not slowed [03:41] down. [03:43] Ahead of the strikes, the IDF published [03:45] warnings to Palestinians residing in the [03:47] area as they always do. Okay. [03:50] Um, [03:52] now we'll get to the kites. This is a [03:55] big story and we're going to talk about [03:57] the kites and what the whole background [03:59] is. And we're also going to talk we're [04:00] going to take a look at how the [04:02] anti-Israel media, how the Arab media is [04:05] talking about these kites as well. IDF [04:07] says four kites [04:10] apparently flown from Gaza found in [04:12] Nakal O. Nakalo is one of the [04:14] communities that was brutally attacked [04:16] on October 7th. Residents demand [04:19] response. [04:21] Four kites apparently flown from the [04:23] Gaza Strip. Here's the kites [04:27] landed in Kibbutz nakal o over the [04:29] weekend, prompting concerned residents [04:31] to demand that Israel take action [04:33] against what they believe to be a threat [04:35] to their safety given kamas's history of [04:38] launching kites carrying incendury [04:41] devices at border communities. The [04:43] Israel Defense Forces said that one of [04:44] the kites was found inside the kibbutz [04:47] on Friday and the three others were [04:49] found on Saturday morning. It assessed [04:51] that the kites which were attached to [04:54] kilometers long strings [04:57] were flown across the border from Gaza. [04:59] Kilometers long strings. Folks, if a [05:03] child is flying a kite, [05:06] the string is not going to be kilometers [05:08] long. [05:11] Kilometers long strings. Hello. [05:15] The military stressed that quote no [05:17] suspicious findings were identified on [05:19] the kites and quote at no stage was [05:23] there any danger to the public although [05:24] this did little to reassure residents of [05:27] Nal O who warned that this was how it [05:29] started before October 7th. According to [05:33] Hebrew media reports the IDF believes [05:35] that kamas was responsible for launching [05:38] the kites and was doing so to test if [05:40] and how Israel would respond. Here's the [05:43] key background. From 2018, [05:47] Palestinian terrorists regularly [05:49] launched kites carrying incendary [05:51] devices at Israeli border communities, [05:55] setting fire to wide swaths of land. [05:58] They would burn their fields with them. [06:00] This was terrorism. Okay, they did this [06:02] a lot. The kibbutz in a response to the [06:05] IDF said that it was taking the incident [06:07] seriously despite it posing no obvious [06:10] threat and urged the military to do the [06:12] same. Quote, "This is how it started [06:14] before October 7th. Initially seeming [06:17] seemingly innocent kites with Arabic [06:19] writing on them were sent from the Gaza [06:21] Strip. Then when kamas realized that the [06:23] kites were falling in our fields, they [06:25] attached incendury materials to them and [06:28] thousands of dunams of wheat fields were [06:30] burned. [06:32] The statement recalled here. This is a [06:35] picture of a fire near Kibbutz Bayer. [06:39] This is a picture of a fire near Kibbutz [06:41] Bayer. Um that was caused by by a kite. [06:48] Okay, that's what that is. Flown by [06:50] Palestinians near the border. And this [06:52] is from 2020, this picture. Okay, the [06:55] next step was explosive balloons [06:57] intended to harm citizens of the [06:58] communities. And we saw where it ended. [07:00] They sent over balloons with explosives. [07:05] We demand that the security forces nip [07:07] the kite phenomenon in the bud. That's a [07:09] statement from the from one of the heads [07:11] of the communities near u near the Gaza [07:14] Strip. [07:15] And then and so that story that I just [07:18] read you, this was from yesterday. Okay, [07:20] this is about kites from Friday and [07:22] Saturday. And then here's a story from [07:25] today just a few hours ago when I'm [07:28] recording this. Kite launched from Gaza [07:29] found in Nal O in seventh security [07:32] breach in less than a month. [07:35] Another kite presumably launched from [07:37] Gaza f was found on Monday today stuck [07:40] in a tree near Nakalo, one of the Gaza [07:42] border communities. The prime minister [07:46] on probation, another kite in Nalo. We [07:50] expect an immediate IDF response to the [07:52] kite terrorism. Hamas is testing the [07:54] limits of a containment that should have [07:56] ended after October 7, said the Gaza [07:58] Border Communities Forum. According to [08:00] Uri Epstein, head of the Shahhanev [08:02] regional council, that's the regional [08:04] council of this area uh near near the [08:06] Gaza Strip. The additional kite [08:09] discovered in Nalo reinforces the [08:10] understanding that this is not a [08:12] one-time incident. [08:14] While kamas is regaining its composure, [08:16] Israel is returning to a policy of [08:18] containment and reactivity instead of [08:20] initiative. You got to remember that the [08:22] people in these communities tended to be [08:24] like the most dovish left-wing peace [08:28] peace activists in the country. And now [08:30] you see how they are just not standing [08:32] for any of it. That's what October 7th, [08:34] you know, will do to you. Every object [08:36] that crosses from the Gaza Strip into [08:37] Israeli territory must be identified and [08:39] dealt with in real time, not just after [08:41] it lands in our localities. [08:45] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and [08:46] Defense Minister Israel Katz directly [08:48] warned Kamas on Sunday that if the [08:51] launch of the kites across the border [08:52] into Israeli territory does not stop [08:54] immediately, the IDF will increase [08:56] strikes on the Gaza Strip. [09:00] And then this is from today. This is [09:02] from even more recent. This is from a [09:03] couple hours afterwards. This is like [09:04] literally a few minutes ago when I'm [09:06] recording this. Nine kites launched from [09:09] Gaza at IDF troops in June without [09:12] Israeli response. This is a new report. [09:13] Now people are starting to look into the [09:15] kites. Nine kites were launched from the [09:17] Gaza Strip toward IDF troops in June, [09:20] but the incidents were neither publicly [09:22] reported nor met with an Israeli [09:23] response. Channel 12 reports. The IDF [09:26] reportedly assesses that Hamas was [09:28] behind the launches, rejecting [09:30] suggestions that they were carried out [09:32] independently or by children. A total of [09:34] 12 kites and four balloons have [09:36] reportedly crossed from Gaza in August [09:39] as of today. Now, let's see how the the [09:42] uh the anti-Israel media is reporting [09:44] this whole thing. So, here's the BBC. [09:47] Israel warns of forceful response to [09:49] kites flown from Gaza. This is from from [09:52] a few hours ago. And look at the picture [09:54] they have accompanying it. They have a [09:55] little kid holding a kite. Uh a [09:58] Palestinian boy holds up a kite at a [10:01] camp for displaced people in Gaza City [10:03] on Sunday. [10:06] Israel has warned Hamas that it will [10:07] increase strikes on Gaza following [10:09] concerns over launches of kites, drones, [10:11] and balloons from the territory. Several [10:13] kites were found in an Israeli community [10:15] near the border with Gaza over the [10:17] weekend. Local media reported. Kamas has [10:20] denied responsibility for the new kites, [10:22] which were not carrying explosives, and [10:24] said they belong to children searching [10:26] for their innocent childhood amid the [10:28] rubble. [10:31] Right. They the group kamas also accused [10:34] Israel of using the kites as a pretext [10:37] for continued air strikes. Okay. No [10:40] suspicious materials were attached to [10:41] the kites and they did not pose a [10:43] threat. The military said kamas warned [10:45] of quote the danger of the allegations [10:47] and threats from Israel and said the [10:49] kites were basically children's toys [10:52] from displacement camps. These threats [10:54] are based on fabricated pretexts and are [10:57] an attempt to justify the continuation [10:58] of the aggression and violations against [11:00] our people. A spokesman for the group [11:02] added, "Well, how about your uh your [11:04] weapons manufacturing facilities that [11:07] you're putting next to an aid [11:08] distribution site or in mosques? Are [11:12] those uh are those justifications for [11:14] the continuation of the aggression [11:16] against your people?" [11:19] Quote, "There is no ceasefire. There is [11:21] nothing. Abu Ahmed, a displaced man who [11:23] has been sheltering nearby, told [11:24] Reuters, "We want solutions. We want to [11:27] live in peace." On Monday, Palestinian [11:29] media media reported that a man called [11:32] Muhammad Abu Assad was killed in an [11:35] overnight Israeli strike on a tent in [11:37] the central town of Deralak. The Israeli [11:39] military said that Abu Assad was a [11:41] member of the elite Nukba forces of [11:43] Kamas's military wing who had taken part [11:46] in the kamasled 7 October 2023 attack on [11:49] southern Israel. Yes. Indeed, Israel [11:51] continues to hunt every single person [11:54] who participated in the October 7th [11:56] attacks and they're picking them off. [11:58] That's another thing that's happening in [11:59] Gaza. Israel continues to assassinate [12:02] the the perpetrators of October 7th and [12:05] is determined to get to all of them. And [12:08] then here we have this uh this report in [12:11] Arab News, Arabnews.com, owned by a [12:14] member of the Saudi royal family. How [12:17] Gaza's kite tradition became entangled [12:20] in conflict. Oh, there's a child [12:22] standing above rubble holding a kite. [12:25] A for generations, spring and summer [12:28] along Gaza's coast meant homemade kites, [12:32] brightly colored creations, [12:34] sometimes tied to rooftops so the wind [12:37] would not carry them away. Today, [12:39] however, Israel regards the toys as a [12:41] potential security threat. Yeah, these [12:43] weren't tied to rooftops. These had [12:45] actually uh strings that were kilometers [12:48] long. You got to understand the Israeli [12:50] border communities [12:52] and the and the towns [12:56] where and and the populated areas where [13:01] the Palestinians in Gaza are, the Arabs [13:04] in Gaza are is really far. [13:08] It's like [13:10] in the in the narrowest spots, it's like [13:13] a few kilometers away. [13:16] It it gets up to six kilometers. We're [13:18] talking, you know, a few miles. And we [13:21] have these strings attached to the kites [13:23] that we're finding that are kilometers [13:25] long. [13:26] But for generations, there's this Gazin [13:29] tradition of kites. Quote, it was one of [13:33] the most ordinary joys of childhood. [13:35] Misa Ysef, an artist and mother of three [13:37] in central Gaza, told Arab News as she [13:40] recalled a tradition shared by families [13:42] across the Palestinian enclaves refugee [13:44] camps. Her children, however, have had [13:46] little opportunity to experience it. For [13:49] much of their lives, said Ysef, kites [13:51] have been largely barred from Gaza, and [13:53] since the war began in October 2023, [13:56] after a kamasled attack on Israel, even [13:59] basic materials used to make them, such [14:01] as glue and paper, have been restricted [14:03] in the territory. The issue gained fresh [14:06] urgency after several kites drifted from [14:08] Gaza into southern Israel over the [14:10] weekend, prompting Defense Minister [14:12] Israel Catz to convene senior military [14:14] officials on Sunday, according to [14:16] Israeli media reports. There's another [14:18] poor boy next to a destroyed car. [14:22] A car destroyed in an Israeli airirst [14:24] strike. And he's holding a he's holding [14:25] a kite. What a great picture. They [14:28] really put that one together nicely. [14:31] At least four kites crossed into farming [14:33] communities, including kibbut nal o. [14:36] They said the Israeli military found [14:38] nothing suspicious on them and said [14:39] there was at no stage any danger to the [14:41] public. The Times of Israel reported. [14:44] Let's jump ahead here. Sometimes the [14:47] string breaks [14:48] and the kite flies away and lands in the [14:52] perimeter area. [14:55] Ysef said, "The Israelis see that as [14:58] today it flew on its own. Tomorrow it [15:00] may carry incenderary or explosive [15:02] materials." That's not what the Israelis [15:04] say. They don't say, "Today it flew on [15:06] its own." For Palestinians, however, [15:07] Ysef said kites hold cultural [15:09] significance. Now, we're learning [15:11] something about Gazen culture. Children [15:14] and families traditionally paint them [15:16] with colorful designs. [15:18] I mean, the kites that we saw in these [15:21] pictures [15:22] did not have colorful designs, black, [15:25] white, clear. Anyway, let's go back. [15:29] Islamic motifs or the colors of the [15:31] Palestinian flag before flying them in [15:33] the coastal breeze. Quote, I consider [15:36] the kite a symbol like the dove of [15:38] peace, the kafia or the key. She said, [15:41] the kite is also one of the symbols of [15:43] the Palestinian cause. The kite is a [15:47] symbol of the Palestinian cause. Kite [15:50] making was a tradition. It was popular [15:52] in every refugee camp. As soon as the [15:55] wind picked up, everyone would grab [15:56] their kite, try to fly it, and tie it to [15:58] their house, leaving it in the air. For [16:01] Yousef, the result is that war and [16:03] restrictions have stripped children of [16:04] familiar pleasures. The war in Gaza has [16:08] deprived children of a simple toy. She [16:10] said it was only a kite or only a [16:12] balloon that made them happy. Now it [16:14] cons now it's considered a threat to [16:16] Israel's security and stability. Oh, you [16:18] know, I feel so bad for them. You know, [16:20] you know what? You know, this war also, [16:22] you know, it denied the Bibbus children [16:24] of life. [16:27] Uh it denied, [16:30] you know, a lot of people in the Gaza [16:32] envelope of of life. [16:37] And you know, these Gazin residents who [16:40] overwhelmingly still support Hamas and [16:43] were cheering in the streets, cheering, [16:46] handing out candies [16:49] as Israeli [16:51] uh hostages, [16:54] women who had been raped and that were [16:55] now being dragged into captivity were [16:57] being dragged through the streets in [16:59] Gaza. They were cheering [17:05] and you know it's so sad that this war [17:08] has deprived them of the simple pleasure [17:11] in life of flying a kite with a string [17:15] attached to it that's numerous [17:17] kilometers long [17:20] and it lands it just happens to land on [17:22] the territory of of Israeli of Israeli [17:26] towns nearby that were attacked on [17:27] October 7th. Yeah, it's a real shame [17:30] that the war deprivives them of these [17:33] simple pleasures in life. You know, uh [17:35] that's what happens when you when you [17:38] commit brutal atrocities and declare [17:40] war. But on a serious note, Hamas is is [17:44] testing the Israelis [17:47] just like when you have these these [17:49] stories that have happened over the last [17:50] uh month or so of Kamas guys, you know, [17:55] or people unarmed going near the yellow [17:57] line trying to cross it, testing out the [17:59] Israelis, seeing what they'll respond to [18:02] and what they won't. [18:04] And this is how it started back in 2018. [18:07] First kites just started and balloons [18:09] just started coming over and no one paid [18:10] much attention to them and then they [18:13] started having incendiary devices. They [18:14] started exploding [18:16] causing tremendous damage to the towns [18:19] in that area. So yeah, if you you know [18:22] if you want your kids to be able to have [18:23] the simple pleasures in life like flying [18:25] a kite, good idea to not embrace [18:29] genocide and terrorism against the [18:30] Jewish state. That's what I uh recommend [18:33] if you want your kids to have that that [18:36] simple simple pleasure. [18:39] Anyway, [18:42] thanks for watching this one. I hope [18:44] you're subscribed to this channel and if [18:46] you're not, please do so. And please [18:48] drop a comment. Let me know what you [18:49] thought of this video and uh share it [18:52] with someone who you think might find it [18:53] of interest. Uh and uh I'll see you on [18:56] the next one. God bless.
