Description (by owner on YouTube)

How did global media decide Israel was the biggest killer of journalists? One man had a lot to do with it. Because before a statistic can become a headline, someone has to supply the list of names. The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) is one of the most frequently cited sources for the Committee to Protect Journalists’ (CPJ) database of slain media workers. PJS’s president, Nasser Abu Bakr has publicly praised Palestinian gunmen who murdered Israelis as “heroes” and “lions.” And when someone in Gaza is killed, he has the power to name them a journalist. That matters when information supplied by his organization makes its way into databases that are then cited by some of the world’s biggest newsrooms. Our investigation found documented terror-group ties for more than half of the journalists on CPJ’s list. Read our full exposé here: https://buff.ly/ROUDVzr
