Transcript [00:00] Hey everybody, so the other day the [00:02] Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan [00:04] went on CNN Turkey and he made some [00:08] pretty anti-Israel statements there. I'm [00:10] going to pull these up and show you what [00:12] he said. It's got subtitles, but I'll [00:15] I'll do a voiceover based on the [00:17] subtitles for those of you who are [00:18] listening. Here we go. [00:21] We're not about to back down. We're not [00:23] worried. Conflict is our business. [00:25] What's the problem? The problem is that [00:27] Israel isn't just my problem. [00:30] Israel is the world's problem. [00:34] And that's how we need to frame it. In [00:37] other words, Israel just isn't just [00:39] Turkey's problem. It isn't just our [00:40] president's issue. It's just that our [00:42] president is the one stepping forward to [00:44] say that the wrongdoing is wrong. That's [00:46] a separate issue. Humanity needs to have [00:48] a separate discussion about this, but [00:49] everyone knows it, feels it, whispers [00:51] about it in hidden corners. Sometimes [00:53] they even speak openly, but these are [00:55] humanity's shared problems, my friends. [00:57] So, we need to call it what it is. These [00:59] people have become a burden to humanity [01:02] that we can no longer bear. Their [01:04] policies, their mindset, their humanity [01:05] cannot bear this. The conscience of [01:07] humanity cannot bear this. Political [01:09] systems cannot bear this. Economic [01:11] systems cannot bear this. No matter what [01:12] system you look at, there's no parameter [01:14] that can bear these people. That is why [01:17] we always say to the international [01:19] community, when they ask me, "Why are [01:21] you making me the sole problem?" I may [01:23] be the only country speaking out against [01:27] this and speaking loudly because it's a [01:28] problem for all of us. Want to solve [01:30] this problem? [01:33] Then [01:34] you have to speak out about it. [01:36] Basically, that's what he was saying. [01:37] Basically, calling Israel and these [01:39] people the problem. And uh [01:41] the the German Foreign Minister lashed [01:44] out. This was This was just a a couple [01:45] days ago he did this. The German Foreign [01:47] Minister, this is from today's uh paper [01:49] uh from today's reporting on Sunday, [01:51] German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepuhl [01:54] condemned recent remarks by Turkish [01:55] Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan against [01:57] Israel following a call by Foreign [02:00] Minister Gideon Saar. Saar called on [02:02] NATO leaders to condemn what he [02:03] described as Fidan's sickening remarks [02:06] dehumanizing the Jewish people [02:08] presenting it as an unbearable burden is [02:10] the classic language of the great [02:12] oppressors in history, he said. The [02:14] enlightened world and Turkey's NATO [02:16] allies must unequivocally unequivocally [02:18] condemn this explicit call for Israel's [02:20] destruction. [02:22] And so the German Foreign Minister said [02:24] that the recent statements by the [02:25] Turkish Foreign Minister against Israel [02:27] are clearly unacceptable. [02:29] Israel faces an ongoing threat in the [02:31] region and has the right and duty to [02:33] defend its citizens. [02:35] Right and and Saar called called this [02:37] incitement to genocide. [02:41] So [02:42] yeah. [02:44] Israel became a burden that humanity can [02:46] no longer bear. These people have become [02:48] a burden that humanity can no longer [02:50] bear. [02:51] The human conscience cannot bear these [02:53] people. Political systems cannot sustain [02:55] us. Economic systems Israel is a threat. [02:58] These people in Israel are a threat to [03:00] economic systems, really? Israel is is [03:03] is causing economic problems for other [03:05] people? [03:07] And then he called on the world to [03:08] impose the necessary sanctions on these [03:11] people. [03:12] Maybe he's referring to the fact that [03:14] that we fight against our enemies and [03:15] that causes economic disruptions. [03:19] Turkey's an economy that's collapsing. [03:21] Israel's is doing very well. [03:23] But think about what Hakan Fidan is [03:25] actually saying. He's not talking about [03:26] a particular policy [03:28] in Israel that he disagrees with. He's [03:30] talking about the existence of Israel as [03:32] a problem that the world needs to solve. [03:33] The world needs to solve it. People talk [03:35] about it in private conversations, but [03:36] they you know they they don't always say [03:38] the quiet part out loud, but everyone [03:39] knows that these people are a problem [03:41] that the world needs to needs to deal [03:43] with. I mean listen to this rhetoric. [03:46] And Foreign Minister Saar in Israel [03:49] he calls it what it is. It's it's [03:50] incitement to this is the worst kind of [03:53] anti-Jewish incitement. It's kind of [03:55] stuff you heard from Hitler. [03:58] Well, we've heard this kind of language [03:59] before. De- Dehumanizing Jews as a [04:02] burden as an unbearable burden on the [04:04] world. [04:06] So, forgive us Jews for taking it [04:08] seriously when people say things like [04:09] this. [04:11] And here's what I want to do in this [04:12] video. I don't want I don't just want to [04:13] react to this one quote. [04:15] I I want to show you that this is part [04:17] of a pattern coming out of Turkey. [04:20] And that the pattern includes a strategy [04:22] uh that actually plays out in some [04:24] policy [04:26] to marginalize Israel. [04:29] Uh because if Fidan's comments stood [04:31] alone, you could write it off as maybe [04:33] just him running his mouth, but it does [04:34] not. Erdogan himself [04:37] has said that the genocidal occupying [04:39] expansionist ideology called Zionism [04:43] threaten threatens not only him, but it [04:46] it but it you know, and not only Turkey [04:49] and not only his alliance, but it [04:50] actually threatens everybody. [04:53] Uh where is this? Yeah, look at that. [04:55] Erdogan, this is this is a very recent [04:57] quote. This is from uh [04:59] from a week ago. Erdogan ties genociding [05:02] expansionist occupying Zionism to [05:04] threats to Turkey and to the 2006 16 [05:07] coup attempt. They blamed Israel for the [05:08] coup attempt in 2016. He blamed Israel. [05:10] Look what he says here. [05:13] Um he starts talking about the coup. I'm [05:16] going to jump down here. [05:18] Without explicitly tying the two, the [05:20] next immediate comment claimed the same [05:22] about the genocidal occupying and [05:24] expansionist ideology called Zionism. [05:26] He's talking about the coup in 2016. And [05:29] then he And then he pivoted immediately [05:30] to talk about the Zionists. [05:32] He says that Zionism threatens not only [05:34] me, not only our party, and not only our [05:36] alliance, but everyone. When we fight [05:38] Zionism, we are not conducting a [05:39] personal struggle for ourselves. We are [05:42] conducting [05:44] We are conducting this struggle for our [05:46] own survival and for the collective [05:48] survival of our nation. [05:51] Right? The problem is Israel. We need to [05:54] deal with the Israel problem. [05:56] Then his own interior minister, Mustafa [05:58] Çiğci, I don't know if I pronounced his [06:00] name correctly. [06:01] Look what this guy had to say, his [06:03] interior minister, and this is also this [06:05] is from a month ago. [06:07] Turkey's interior minister vows to [06:08] liberate Jerusalem, return it to Turkish [06:11] hands. [06:13] To liberate Jerusalem. [06:17] Right? He he said that [06:18] it was at a party convention and he said [06:20] that just like Turkey witnessed the [06:21] liberation of Damascus and Aleppo, we [06:23] will one day witness the liberation of [06:25] Jerusalem. [06:26] Yeah, she said that back when he was a [06:27] provincial governor, he used to pray [06:29] that he'd one day get to serve as [06:30] governor of Jerusalem. Israel's defense [06:32] minister Katz hit back very hard. He [06:34] said that Jerusalem has been the capital [06:36] of the Jewish people for 3,000 years and [06:38] he reminded everyone that Israel is not [06:40] a crumbling Crusader kingdom. [06:43] Uh it's a country that has proven [06:44] repeatedly that it can defend itself and [06:46] it will. [06:47] And uh he even mentioned Atatürk uh [06:50] sticking a finger in the eye of the [06:51] Turks who who are trying to bring back [06:54] the Ottoman Empire that Atatürk uh [06:56] [snorts] [06:57] was moving away from. [06:59] Anyway, so within a few weeks, this is [07:00] all here's the key. Here's the point. [07:03] Within a few weeks, these all of these [07:04] quotes I just showed you from the [07:07] interior minister, [07:08] uh from the from Erdoğan himself, from [07:11] the foreign minister, this is all in the [07:12] same month. [07:14] So you've got the president talking [07:15] about destroying Zionism as a matter of [07:16] national survival. You've got the [07:18] interior minister talking about [07:20] conquering Jerusalem. And now you've got [07:21] the foreign minister saying that [07:23] Israel's existence, these people's [07:24] existence is a burden the world can't [07:27] bear. [07:29] This isn't three separate people running [07:31] their mouth. This is the top of the [07:33] Turkish government and it's uh [07:35] consistent and it's escalating. Three of [07:38] their leading [07:40] figures [07:42] all in the space of a month. [07:45] And here's where it gets more serious [07:46] than just words because while Turkish [07:48] officials are saying this out loud, uh [07:52] they've also spent years backing it up [07:55] or trying to back it up with policy. [07:57] Turkey is the main patron of the new [07:59] Islamist government in Syria under Ahmad [08:01] al-Shara. [08:03] They're training and equipping the new [08:04] Syrian army, Turkey is, and some of the [08:07] commanders in that army are people the [08:08] US has sanctioned over their role in [08:11] sectarian killings. Turkey hosts an [08:13] active Hamas office in Istanbul, and [08:16] that office plays a real operational [08:18] role, not just a symbolic one, in [08:20] planning and funding Hamas activities. [08:22] Turkey has spent years [08:24] building influence in Lebanon and in [08:26] Jerusalem itself, pouring tens of [08:28] millions of dollars a year into all [08:30] kinds of outreach activity in Eastern [08:32] Jerusalem to the point where you now see [08:34] Turkish flags [08:35] flying in parts of East Jerusalem. [08:38] And Turkey's not doing any any of this [08:40] alone. Analysts are now talking about [08:42] this emerging strategic alliance, this [08:44] triad of Turkey, Qatar, and Pakistan. [08:47] We're already seeing it play out in the [08:49] current environment with the Iran [08:51] situation. [08:52] And there's efforts [08:54] that look quite successful underway to [08:56] pull Saudi Arabia and Egypt into that [08:59] group. [09:00] Qatar brings the money, Turkey brings [09:03] the conventional the conventional [09:04] military muscle and the and the veneer [09:07] of of credibility in the West and their [09:10] NATO, you know, they're part of NATO. [09:12] Pakistan, of course, has nuclear weapons [09:14] and they're a powerhouse. [09:16] And here's the part that should worry [09:18] anyone who's watching [09:20] watching how the Americans are behaving. [09:22] This triad, this Pakistan-Qatar-Turkey [09:26] group, is positioning itself as [09:29] America's preferred partner and mediator [09:32] in the region going forward. You see the [09:34] role that they're playing in everything [09:36] now. [09:37] At the very same time that uh that [09:41] uh America is arming and legitimizing [09:45] the forces working against Israel and [09:47] against Western interests. That's what's [09:48] happening here. America is working with [09:49] these people. They're arming them. [09:52] There was one analyst at the Middle East [09:54] Forum who described Turkey as an [09:55] adversary that occasionally cooperates. [09:58] I think that's about right. [10:00] They're not an ally of America, but [10:03] Trump treats them as one. The West keeps [10:05] treating this as a partnership. They're [10:07] part of NATO. [10:09] What it's actually doing is it is they [10:12] are propping up [10:15] this [10:16] this this regime that really seeks [10:19] to [10:20] restore the Islamic Caliphate. Talk [10:22] about conquering Jerusalem and and and [10:26] and what Israel is [10:28] these people are a problem for the [10:30] world. [10:33] Look, this isn't only happening in [10:35] speeches. Erdogan has [10:37] has publicly compared Netanyahu to [10:39] Hitler. [10:41] Turkey's Erdogan compares Israel's [10:42] Netanyahu to Hitler at UN Assembly. This [10:45] was a couple years ago, but he's done [10:46] this repeatedly. He did it also again [10:48] recently on another occasion. [10:51] An Istanbul court has actually moved to [10:53] indict Netanyahu and 34 other Israeli [10:55] officials on genocide charges. [10:58] Now, that indictment has no real legal [10:59] force. No one's going to arrest [11:01] Netanyahu because of a Turkish court [11:03] filing, but that's not the point. The [11:04] point is [11:06] that they're making normal relations [11:07] with Israel politically radioactive for [11:10] anyone who's paying attention. They're [11:12] making their position very clear. And [11:13] within Israel, [11:15] Hakan Fidan, this foreign minister who I [11:17] started the video with, he specifically [11:19] is seen as maybe the most dangerous [11:21] figure in this whole picture because [11:23] he's not just the foreign minister. [11:24] Foreign minister in many countries is [11:25] often a stepping stone to being the head [11:27] of state. [11:28] And he's not just a foreign minister. [11:30] He's a former intelligence chief, and a [11:32] lot of people who watch Turkey closely [11:34] think that he's the one who might be [11:36] succeeding Erdogan. [11:38] And Israeli officials see [11:41] see him as someone who's very close to [11:42] the Iranians. [11:44] There's one Israeli intelligence analyst [11:46] who's been quoted calling him Hakan [11:48] Fidan the most dangerous man for Israel [11:50] in the region going forward. [11:52] So, when this particular guy, Hakan [11:54] Fidan, goes on TV and says that Israel's [11:56] existence [11:58] the existence of these people is a [12:00] burden the world no longer can bear, [12:03] that's not just one Turkish politician [12:06] venting. That's coming from the person [12:08] that Israel's own intelligence community [12:10] sees as a real long-term threat. [12:14] So, it's not just Erdogan. It's the [12:15] whole gang around him. [12:18] Okay. [12:19] There's another dimension to this, which [12:21] is not getting enough attention, and [12:24] I I think it's more it might matter more [12:26] long-term than any of these quotes that [12:29] I've shared with you. So, this isn't [12:31] just me ranting about anti-Semitic [12:32] quotes coming out of Turkey. You've [12:34] probably heard about IMEC, the [12:36] India-Middle East-Europe Economic [12:38] Corridor. I've mentioned it many times [12:40] in my videos. [12:41] Uh it's it got announced back back in [12:43] 2023. It's a project. It's a US-backed [12:46] plan to link India to Europe through the [12:50] UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel. [12:53] The whole idea was to build a modern [12:55] trade route overland, almost entirely [12:58] overland, except a little bit by UAE, [13:00] uh to build a modern trade route through [13:03] Israel so that Israel becomes [13:04] economically tied into the region in a [13:07] way that makes conflict more costly and [13:09] normalization more natural. So, if you [13:11] have a trade route that runs across all [13:13] these countries, [13:15] trade often creates stability and peace. [13:18] Well, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, here, let [13:21] me pull up this headline. [13:23] Turkey and Saudi Arabia, this is a [13:26] headline from yesterday. Understand, all [13:28] of these headlines I'm showing you [13:29] except the one from the UN from a year [13:30] ago. This is all recent stuff. These are [13:32] all stories from the last couple of [13:33] days, last month. [13:35] Uh, a few of the quotes were were from [13:38] uh, a few weeks ago, but you know, we're [13:39] talking about current news here. [13:42] Turkey and Saudi Arabia just signed a [13:44] memorandum of understanding to revive [13:46] something called the Hejaz railway. [13:50] Okay, that's a rail line [13:51] that originally connected Damascus [13:54] to Medina in Saudi Arabia back in 1908. [13:58] Okay, so it was a north-south rail line. [14:00] It went from Damascus down through [14:01] Jordan, down to Saudi Arabia to Medina. [14:05] And they want to revive this. And the [14:07] new version isn't going to run through [14:08] the old holy sites. It's going to run [14:10] from Saudi Arabia to the port of Aqaba [14:12] in Jordan, which is right that's where [14:14] Eilat is in Israel. And then it'll run [14:16] north through Amman to Damascus and keep [14:19] going to Aleppo and end up at the [14:21] Turkish border. [14:23] This is what this agreement this was [14:25] this news item on your screen is from [14:28] yesterday. [14:30] Okay, and this would mean that it would [14:32] that you would have a [14:34] a rail line that plugs right in from [14:37] Saudi Arabia, goes up through, plugs [14:39] right into Turkey. [14:41] And Turkey is plugged into the European [14:43] rail network. [14:45] And Qatar is expected to be the one [14:46] financing it. [14:48] Okay, so [14:50] go through that route again in your [14:51] head. Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, [14:53] Turkey, Israel is cut out of the [14:55] picture. [14:56] So one Israeli regional expert connected [14:58] this to Turkey's other big [15:00] infrastructure push, which is the [15:02] so-called development road that they [15:04] want to make through Iraq. [15:06] And he made the point that together if [15:09] they develop this this other overland [15:11] trade excuse me trade route that runs [15:13] through Iraq [15:15] over to the other side to Iran, [15:16] Pakistan, etc. [15:18] And you also to [15:21] this trade [15:24] You have this geographic loop with [15:26] Turkey being the hub that connects [15:29] the entire East to Europe. [15:33] Okay? And that would take away a lot of [15:36] the financial incentive that America is [15:39] dangling in front of Saudi Arabia to [15:41] have some sort of normalization with [15:44] Israel so that we can have these [15:45] overland trade routes. Now, you might [15:46] say to yourself, well, why not? Why not [15:48] have the trade route run from Saudi [15:50] Arabia up up through Syria to Damascus? [15:52] Well, if you wanted to have a secure [15:55] trade route, would you want it running [15:57] through Syria? [16:00] Would you want it running through Syria? [16:02] How do you How much do you trust that [16:03] stability? [16:04] With terrorist groups and militias [16:06] running around. [16:08] There's a reason why the US wants this [16:10] this trade route to run through Jordan [16:12] and Israel [16:14] and Saudi Arabia. These are countries [16:15] that are they can trust from a security [16:18] perspective. [16:20] Syria? [16:23] Anyway. [16:24] This is [16:25] So, when we just pay attention to the [16:27] rhetoric, we see, you know, Hakan Fidan, [16:30] these people are a burden. [16:33] But, we also have the military build-up [16:35] in Syria. [16:37] But, this railway this railway deal [16:41] uh this Turkish-Saudi railway deal [16:44] with the with the Qatari money building [16:46] a physical alternative [16:49] to Israel for an overland trade route [16:52] um is [16:53] is is what This is what Turkey is trying [16:56] to accomplish here. They're trying to [16:57] cut Israel out. [16:59] And Israel isn't just going to sit there [17:00] and let it happen. The Economist [17:02] recently ran a piece describing the [17:04] whole dynamic that's going on between [17:06] Israel and Turkey as the next great [17:08] rivalry shaping the Middle East. [17:10] Um [17:11] and I think that's about right. [17:12] Netanyahu has apparently been you know, [17:14] been building his own version of this, [17:16] something that people are calling the [17:17] hexagon alliance, Israel, India, Greece, [17:20] Cyprus, [17:21] and a handful of Gulf and other partners [17:23] with the IMEC plan sitting at the center [17:25] of it. Uh Israel has this very strong [17:28] alliance. Uh [17:29] I'm [17:30] mentioned, you know, India has become a [17:32] very strong friend of Israel, and we all [17:34] know about the again, the Greece, Cyprus [17:36] alliance, which is meant to counter [17:37] Turkey. So, Israel's not sitting on its [17:39] hands. [17:41] Israel wants its own trade route uh that [17:43] will bypass Turkey [17:46] on its way to Europe. Um [17:49] >> [laughter] [17:50] >> So, that's the that's the rivalry [17:52] happening [17:53] at the at the infrastructure, long-term [17:56] economy level. It's not just about, you [17:58] know, name-calling. [18:02] This is So, what do we have now? We have [18:04] this rivalry. We have these two powers, [18:06] Israel and Turkey. [18:07] Um and they're and they're each trying [18:10] to [18:12] solidify relationships and make sure [18:14] that they have the overland trade route [18:17] running through their territory, or that [18:19] they control it and they control these [18:21] relationships. [18:22] And uh it's a real challenge. [18:26] Look, while this is happening, [18:29] part of what makes this also problematic [18:30] is that Western governments are are all [18:33] right now, as we speak, lining up to [18:35] honor and reward Erdogan instead of [18:37] confronting him. Turkey's hosting the [18:39] NATO leaders. [18:41] The big NATO summit coming up, it's [18:43] being hosted in in Ankara. Washington [18:45] just approved shipping Turkey 80 jet [18:49] engines, 80 jet engines [18:52] that uh together uh are What is it? It's [18:55] about uh it's worth about 700 million [18:58] dollars. [18:59] These 80 jet engines, they approved this [19:01] sale to Turkey. And this is for Turkey's [19:03] own um own advanced jet program. [19:07] And Trump is reportedly considering [19:09] letting Turkey back into the F-35 [19:11] program, [19:12] which they got kicked out of in 2019 for [19:15] having Russian air defense systems. I [19:16] made a whole video about that last week. [19:18] Make sure you go watch that. [19:20] The EU meanwhile is negotiating major [19:22] energy contracts with Turkey, including [19:25] deals for overland networks that would [19:27] bypass the Gulf, bypass Russia, and [19:29] bypass Israel. [19:31] So, you've got a government whose [19:32] president is talking about destroying [19:33] Zionism as a matter of national [19:35] survival, whose interior minister is [19:37] talking about conquering Jerusalem, [19:39] whose foreign minister is calling [19:41] Israel's existence and these people an [19:43] unbearable burden on humanity, [19:45] and the Western nations are not really [19:49] doing anything about it. They're not [19:51] pushing back on this. When we think [19:52] historically, I mean, like I I don't [19:54] want to be alarmist. I'm not one of [19:55] these Oh, you know, the Holocaust. [19:57] Look, we have a state of Israel today. [19:59] We're strong. [20:01] But, we should never think that this [20:03] rhetoric coming from leaders, this [20:05] this type of rhetoric about Jews being a [20:07] burden [20:09] and wanting to destroy Israel, we should [20:11] never [20:12] we should never just take it as [20:14] rhetoric. [20:15] It has real-world implications. [20:19] So, here's what I want you to take away [20:20] from all this. When a Turkish foreign [20:22] minister says that Israel's existence is [20:24] a burden on humanity that humanity can [20:26] no longer bear, [20:30] it's not just a sound bite. [20:33] It's the kind of language [20:36] that [20:38] if you put it together with the with [20:40] what they're doing in Syria, [20:42] with what they're doing in Gaza, with [20:44] the with the [20:46] with the Turkish NGOs that are operating [20:49] there, a Hamas office in Istanbul, [20:53] right, their influence campaign in East [20:54] Jerusalem, and they're trying to build [20:56] this trade corridor to cut Israel out. [21:00] Turkey is working very hard against [21:03] Israel at the level of rhetoric, at the [21:05] level of diplomacy, at the level of [21:07] policy, militarily. [21:09] I just don't think enough people are [21:10] connecting the dots on this. This is a [21:12] real serious issue. It's not that Turkey [21:14] is a future threat to Israel, it's a [21:15] current threat to Israel. [21:17] So, that's what I wanted to share in [21:19] this video. I hope it was helpful and [21:21] made some sense. [21:23] But folks, we've got some real serious [21:24] issues on our hands with Turkey. [21:26] And uh yeah, we'll keep following the [21:29] story and I'll we'll keep doing updates. [21:30] Unfortunately, I think we're going to be [21:31] doing more and more videos about what's [21:33] going on with Turkey because they are [21:35] ramping up the rhetoric. They're ramping [21:37] it up these days. All right, folks. God [21:39] bless.
