Why Hasn't the US Struck Iran Yet?

Protests continue to sweep across Iran. Hundreds of thousands of Iranians are still in the streets, demanding the downfall of the clerics, calling for the return of the Crown Prince, and even waving Israeli flags. President Trump has repeatedly said that help is on the way — and many are understandably asking why that help hasn’t arrived yet. A report leaked this morning may finally shed some light on what’s really happening.
In the early days of the protests, the Ayatollahs cut off most internet access, giving themselves cover to brutally crack down on their own people without outside accountability. Elon Musk managed to activate Starlink, allowing some information to escape via satellite — but the Iranian regime quickly began jamming it, reportedly using advanced technology supplied by China. Over the past few days, Elon’s team has been working to counter that jamming, and small pieces of information have begun leaking out.
What’s coming out is horrifying.
The IRGC is reportedly roaming the streets, heavily armed, shooting their own people en masse. Men, women, and children — killed in the streets. Videos are surfacing that are too graphic to share. Bodies stacked in morgues, families walking through desperately searching for missing loved ones.
As of today, the IRGC’s official numbers claim nearly 3,000 killed and more than 18,000 arrested. Independent watchdog groups say the real death toll could exceed 12,000. A recorded phone call circulating online right now describes conditions inside Iran as nothing short of hell.
President Trump has continued to say that help is on the way. He even addressed Iranian patriots directly, urging them to keep protesting, to take over their institutions if possible, to document the names of their abusers — and announced he canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until the killing stops.
Many interpreted Trump’s words as a signal that military action was imminent. Reports followed that the Pentagon had presented him with strike options. But later, Trump clarified that “help” could come in different forms — economic, political, and possibly military — and emphasized that no one yet has accurate numbers on how many people have been killed.
Right now, several paths are on the table:
– The U.S. could carry out strategic strikes against Iran
– Israel could act with U.S. backing
– Or Iran could attempt a preemptive strike against Israel or U.S. bases in the region
That last option is a real concern. Iran has openly threatened it. The IDF is on high alert for “surprise scenarios.” Overnight, countries including the U.S., Canada, France, the UK, Germany, Japan, and others warned their citizens to leave Iran immediately. The IRGC also announced it is on the highest level of alert and boasted about an expanded missile stockpile — a direct threat to Israel.
So why hasn’t the U.S. acted yet?
According to NBC News, Arab and Israeli officials are quietly pressuring Trump to hold off — not because they oppose action, but because they believe the regime may not yet be weak enough for a decisive blow. They argue waiting could make the collapse inevitable rather than incomplete. Other countries, like Saudi Arabia and Qatar, are urging restraint for economic reasons, warning of oil market chaos.
Another factor that could change everything: a 26-year-old protester named Irfan Sultani, arrested last week and reportedly scheduled to be executed without trial. When asked about it, Trump warned that if executions take place, “very strong action” would follow. His end game, in his words: “to win.”
If Irfan is executed, it could dramatically alter Trump’s next move.
This morning, footage surfaced of a mass funeral in Tehran for members of the regime killed during the unrest — with crowds chanting “Death to America.”
This story is moving fast. Things are changing by the hour. For the sake of the Iranian people — and the stability of the Middle East — let’s hope the blood spilled in the streets was not shed in vain. God willing, the ayatollahs will fall and be replaced by peaceful rulers.
