A former campaign worker for Michigan politician Abdul El-Sayed is among 12 anti-Israel activists indicted in a federal investigation into threats, vandalism and intimidation targeting University of Michigan officials and others with perceived ties to Israel. Mariam Odeh, 24, allegedly participated in a coordinated campaign to pressure the university into cutting ties with Israel. Prosecutors say the group vandalized homes, placed fake corpses on lawns, smashed windows and threw jars containing noxious chemicals into residences. Odeh, who reportedly worked for El-Sayed’s Senate campaign for two weeks, was charged in June with conspiracy to transmit threats and faces up to five years in prison if convicted. Federal prosecutors announced four additional indictments on Friday, bringing the total number of defendants to 12, with two reportedly still at large. The allegations have not been proven in court.
